Prompt / friendly service, clean, and the manager threw in extra toppings even though our coupon didn't technically cover it. We'll be back!

The employees there were very rude. I didn't feel welcome at all. No even a smile when I walked in nor a "hello" or "welcome"

Stopped here to do birthday desserts!! Here are the key things to note!…read more Free parking Great patio!! It was covered and the flowers around this place are gorgeous!! You are looking out to a street but the flowers REALLY make up for that! There is inside seating as well, table and chairs. You walk up and order. The desserts and separate from the main course items. I appreciated that! Made the lines go faster. The service on the other hand was lacking. I stood there waiting while 2 people had a convo and I felt ignored. I dropped a star for that reason. The key lime pie and dirt cup were very tasty!! This place is known for its "pattiecake" but I just felt it was a regular chocolate cake with frosting. They have plenty of desserts though! Overall this place gives "up scale Panera vibes" and I liked it! I would go back!

After several visits over the last few years, here are my thoughts…read more -Lots of seating! If you're looking for a table indoors and the main area is packed, head to the back (towards bathrooms) where you'll find two rooms with additional seating which are usually quieter. - I tend to go for sandwiches, which include house made chips. Honestly, when I first went, I wasn't a fan of the chips, but it didn't take long for me to like them. Once while dining in, I found that most of them were just tiny bits. Well when the waiter came to ask how things were, I told/showed him... just as an FYI, not expecting anything. Well, he kindly brought me a bag to replace them. -The staff is mostly kind, with two male waiters/runners being especially nice and helpful. While myself or others are waiting they'll give friendly smiles, see if you need anything in the meantime. I like them! - Although I go mainly for the sandwiches, (my favorite being the Southwest Chicken Panini available in the Fall), I also like the mac and cheese and fries. I used to love the coconut cake, but something about the last one I bought tasted different. The filling and the cake texture... weren't as tasty as I remember. During my last visit I tried, the Reuben. Not for me, but they have lots of other things to try.

Today I also ordered the cinnamon roll, and it was surprisingly good. I would say that it's almost a cross between a cinnamon roll and a caramel roll. They allow you to choose if you want the cream cheese frosting on it, and I opted in just to get the full effect. The roll ended up being good enough without the frosting that I would order it that way if I came again. The reason I gave four instead of five stars is because I came on a weekend about a month ago, and they had a clunky system for the line that made for a not-so-great experience. When you get inside there is supposed to be someone asking you how many people are in your party and if you would like a table. I was unaware of this and jumped in line like I normally would. Once I got to the front of the line they told me that I budged the people behind me (who were sitting down looking at the menu when I arrived), and that they could not take my order and did not have a seat for me. The women behind me let them know that I did not budge them, but the employee said that I was supposed to chat with the line manager before jumping in line (although he was not there for the whole time I waited in line and showed up only after I started to order). This happened a little while ago, so I am hoping that by now they have the line/ordering/getting a table weekend system perfected by now. That experience put a sour taste in my mouth, but I do understand that things happen and I do think the food is good here - that is why I gave it another chance today. The restaurant is pretty big but can get busy on weekends. It's nice, clean and modern. There is only street parking, but if you're willing to walk a block I have always found a place to park.

I can always count on The Buttered Tin to deliver fresh and delicious breakfast /brunch meals made…read morewith the highest quality ingredients (you can taste the difference). Everything I've tried has left nothing to be desired. I've only tried their breakfast menu, but I have no doubt that their lunch menu is just as good! My rotating picks are the Biscuit Sammie (my all time favorite menu item), the Loaded Steak Fajita Hashbrowns, the Smothered Breakfast Burrito, the Bananas Foster French Toast, and the Buttermilk Pancakes (which I should add, are humongous and easily shareable between a few people). Their portions are generous and I love that a good amount of their breakfast menu items are served with a house salad to balance the meal. The staff are consistently kind and work hard to keep their space clean and welcoming. Even when packed, which is almost always the case when I've gone (usually weekends), the wait times are reasonable and well worth it. I truly have nothing but good things to say about The Buttered Tin. It's the place I bring my out-of-town friends and family, the place my partner and I recently chose for our anniversary breakfast, and the place I leave satisfied from time and time again. Easily one of my favorite Twin Cities treasures!
