2 years since my last review... and they still are having issues keeping items in stock. My kids were super pumped to try the new lucky charms ice cream combo- particularly because of the gold mixed in. I ordered them smalls. When he handed them to us, my son said "don't forget the gold!" The employee said they didn't have any so he just gave us extra ice cream instead. I wish he'd told us BEFORE so we could maybe pick something else. Plus there was ice cream all over the outside of the cups that I had to clean off. And because he put too much in each bowl, they immediately started dripping all over. I have ice cream on my shirt and pants and in my hair. I'm super frustrated but my kids talked me into at least a 2 star rating because the ice cream tastes good. Hopefully this time I check Yelp before I go so I remember not to come back to this location!

No cookie dough. No brownie. Just caramel.

Ordered from this ColdStone via door dash. I ordered the Cake Batter Batter Batter with added caramel. The only thing that was in the ice cream was in fact caramel. No other items from that signature mix. Tried calling to replace it. And they refuse to answer the phone. It either keeps ringing. Or is a dial tone and busy.

The staff was friendly and the ice cream was made well, but the service was really slow.

Literally standing in a line that is out the door. Two worker bees... one making ice cream, the other is cleaning and restocking. WTF?

Now that I have your attention and I've given you an ear worm, I'll share a story. My friends and I spent a Saturday on ísbíltúr, which is an Icelandic tradition of taking an ice cream road trip. We hit five different places around the Salt Lake valley and lived to tell about it; with only a slight stomachache. This one is a drive through with a small walk-up window and seating outside. It happened to be our last stop on our journey and was the perfect ending to our adventure! We ordered our cones at the window and then sat on the patio in the warm evening air, enjoying our final treats of the day. The patio is situated between two drive through lines, so the setting is a little unusual, but still good vibes. Blue Moo offers Blue Bell ice cream (IYKYK) and is generous in their portion sizes. There's a lovely blue cow photo op adjacent to the drive thru (logistics can be a little tricky if there are cars queuing up).

Blue Moo carries the iconic Blue Bell ice cream - a brand that isn't sold in grocery stores here in Utah. They had a great variety of flavors and each scoop comes in a cup AND a cone! We got the Oatmeal Cookie and Pistachio Almond. Both delicious! The prices were reasonable and the portions were decent. The staff were super nice and the tables outside were kept clean for those that want to stay and eat their ice cream. Can't wait to go back to try more flavors! P.s. there are a lot of Gluten Free options too!

It was quite pricey, but very delicious! We also tried their Dubai chocolate chewy ball, which I thought was way overpriced. I wouldn't recommend it. We got there too late, and all the mochi donuts were sold out, so I'd recommend going earlier if you want to try them. Luckily, we were able to get some on our second visit! We tried their bingsu the second time we went, and it was perfect! I shared one with a friend, and the portion size was just right for two people. The honeydew flavor was my favorite because it felt like such a unique dessert option here in Utah. I would totally be here all the time if everything were cheaper, lol!

We had just eaten lunch somewhere else because we didn't know they had food here. So we didn't have much room to try very much. I got one of the strawberry and grape cabobs. It's rich, creamy, ridiculously good, and absolutely worth the stop. And the Concrete? GET THE CONCRETE. Thick, loaded with whatever mix-ins make you happy, and somehow every bite reminds you why frozen custard is in an entirely different category from ordinary ice cream. If you're anywhere near Nielsen's, do yourself--and your taste buds--a favor and stop. Don't drive past. Don't tell yourself you'll get it next time. Pull in, order a Concrete, and enjoy your life choices. Five stars. Fantastic custard. Happy taste buds. ZERO regrets!

Come for the Custard, Skip the fries If you've never had…read morefrozen custard, let me set the stage. It's similar to ice cream but denser and richer because it's churned in a special machine that incorporates significantly less air. It also must contain egg yolks, which many ice creams skip entirely. The result is a smoother, more indulgent texture that's in a category of its own. Nielsen's leans into that heritage with a menu that covers concretes, mix-ins, floats, sundaes, multiple sizes, and a full food menu straight out of a 1950s cafeteria. Nostalgic, ambitious, and a lot to choose from. I visited the South Jordan location and have to be honest about the full experience. The tables were dirty, the staff (mostly teenagers) were focused on the counter and not on cleaning, and the wait was long enough that I nearly walked out. The double burger was unremarkable, the fries came out unsalted, but the corn dog was surprisingly good. None of that is why you're here, though. The cherry almond concrete is why you're here. It is outstanding! Generous almond pieces throughout, and the cherry flavor tasted genuinely real, not like something from a syrup bottle. I've had frozen custard all over, and this is legitimately my favorite. My advice: skip the food, go straight for the custard. Nielsen's earns every star on that alone.
