There's a sign that states where the line starts with poles guiding people as to where they should be falling in line. Like numerous others, I didn't see the sign. People started falling in line by the window, which is where I was sitting. I eventually moved my seat. Now, I totally understand what the hype is all about. They offer fruits, sauces, and crunch options that other frozen yogurt companies do not offer. While I was falling in line, someone was writing down what I wanted to order. I was impressed that she upsold me. I was asked which option I wanted. I opted for a cup or tub. Then she asked if I wanted a medium or a large. She didn't ask if I wanted a small, medium, or large. I'm thankful I ordered a medium! The couple behind me had a slight misunderstanding because the female ordered small for them to share. He didn't sound happy with her choice. Eventually, she changed the order to a larger size. I knew that I wanted mango. I am thankful that the employee suggested the Biscoff crunch and sauce. Oh my gosh, I slowly ate my yogurt. I wanted to enjoy every crunch with the sauce and yogurt. They gave a generous amount of everything. I would highly recommend llaollao!

Before other brands popped up trying to push the envelope, THERE WAS SEBASTIAN'S. Sebastian's does not get enough credit for changing the way we look at ice cream. Talk about pushing the envelope; Sebastian's introduced us to Green Mango ice cream (with Bagoong), as well as Champorado, Sapin-Sapin, and Quezo de Bola. And with their price point being on a manageable scale, this ice cream joint deserves more love. Am docking a star because their physical branch in MOA is a bit on the pits. Hey, it has to be said.

Sebastian's has become the epitome of innovation when it comes to ice cream, and I love how it has always pushed the envelope when it comes to offering new flavors for Filipinos to try. Green Mango and Bagoong ice cream, anyone? Or how about Bibingka Espesyal, Sapin-Sapin, or Puto Bumbong? I'm quite sure you haven't heard of these ice cream flavors before Sebastian's. If you're excited to get a taste, head to their nearest scooping stations and have your fill. But be warned: Some of their flavors, like the last three, are seasonal, by the way. But don't worry, you'll have many other equally yummy flavors to choose from there. Or better yet, head to Cold Comfort (the perfect name for their product, don't you think?), Sebastian's ice cream parlor, and get ready to ooh and aah over their selection of their ice cream sundaes, "dive bars", pies, and "burgers"! For those with non-adventurous palates, a.k.a. those who just want chocolate or strawberry or caramel, there's something there for your liking, too!

Ice Cream House - Vegan ice cream!

The thought of non-dairy ice cream seems absurd at first. But for people who don't consume dairy…read moreproducts like me (I'm vegan), it is a masterpiece. I would never have thought that Ice Cream House, a chain of regular, local Pinoy ice cream would have some options for me alongside their usual, extensive menu of various dairy ice creams, splits, sundaes and milkshakes, so I only discovered their line of non-dairy ice cream after having purchased it from a restaurant who serves it in my village. Ice Cream House's line of non-dairy ice cream is called "Savor a Mi". It's made of coconut milk and it's amazing! There's currently 1 flavor that's a staple, which is the plain one. It sounds boring, but the texture and consistency is amazing. It's creamy, unlike some non-dairy ice cream with textures more similar to a sorbet. The sweetness is just right, and it's really perfect for non-dairy milkshakes and soda floats. They're relatively cheap, and you can get a pint for about 60 to 70 pesos, and a gallon at around P250. On some occasions, they do release other flavors such as Buko Pandan and Mangoes & Peaches (so good). Whenever those flavors aren't available and I'm not feeling lazy, I just make my own using the plain as the base! I put it fresh fruit like strawberries or mango, give it a blitz in my blender, chill it again, then serve. I have a long list in mind for all the flavors I'd like to try with this! Oh and they have several branches across the metro, too (although none in the South!). There's bound to be one relatively close by.

They have fruits, granola, cornflakes and whatnot that can be the topping. However, what really sets Red Mango apart from the Fro-yo places is their yummy waffles. Crisp on the outside, soft and chewy inside, these freshly baked waffles are so good. They say that it is made with brown sugar so there's that hint of sweetness. You can get it plain or topped with yogurt for an even more exciting snack. It also comes in different classic and savory combinations. For savory choices, you can get the Fluffy Floss or Ham n' Cheese. For classic, there's Blueberries n' Cream, Banana Almond and Peanut Butter Choco Chip. I love all their classic flavors and haven't tried the savory ones yet. Red Mango offers a lot of other options (parfaits and fresh fruit bowls) but you really need to try the waffles the next time you visit.
