    a cup of ice cream
    Sandra S.

Coldstone is HANDS DOWN the only place I will go to for ice cream. I always get the same thing... cake batter ice cream with crushed graham crackers. If I'm feeling extra... I may add some white chocolate chips or marshmallows. The staff is young but their always super friendly at this location! They offer various ice cream flavors such as cotton candy, sugar free vanilla, strawberry, etc. Location/ parking etc- this cold stone is located in Olney shopping center near the TJ maxx etc. whenever i come to this location, there are various spaces to park. Seating is limited inside the restaurant, there are also seats available outside. Usually the restaurant isn't packed so I've always seen seats available. If you're looking for some delicious icecream!! Coldstone is definitely were it's at!

You can't even see any brownie or fudge or choc chips. Disappointed

I called them at 9:50, ten min before they close. I asked if they would make our ice cream if we get there 5 min after closing, we were 15 min out. She said she could make it and have it ready for us. I've been coming here for over 8 years. My wife had gotten the mint chocolate chip gotta have it size. I had gotten the biggest size, "everybody" chocolate devotion except I asked for chocolate And coffee ice cream no chocolate chips sub kit Kat. Once I got there we gave a $5 tip since they had it ready for us and made it before hand. NOW....when I get home I open my ice cream while in the middle of watching Incredibles 2 and what do I see ? Two slabs of coffee and chocolate Ice cream not even MIXED! The kicker? No brownie or fudge. At least get that part right. "Choc devotion" How could you make it worse? I said NO CHOC CHIP. The only topping in there was CHOC CHIPS. We spent over $25 for ice cream. If I'm paying over $20 for ice cream it needs to be made to the customers satisfaction not the TOTAL opposite. It's sad that only because of closing, and getting home earlier, my $25 ice cream had been beyond half ass'ed. Here are some disappointing pics of what I never remember my favorite ice cream place to be.

Cold Stone Creamery is one of my local spots. They have a wide variety of specialty ice cream selections. I usually order the Oreo Overload with a chocolate coated waffle cone in a cup. My size is "Love It!" The place is always packed as many love their ice cream. The service is pretty quick you can get in and out. For a smaller establishment it has all the perks: clean bathroom, outside and inside seating, parking and of course great ice cream. I'd recommend Cold Stone Creamery to anyone that has a sweet tooth. You'll love the selection of ice cream and toppings.

The only way to properly enjoy this ice cream is to consume in situ! So soft and creamy.

You have a choice of which cone, so I got the cake cone (it looks like they only have the long one). An employee asked if they could put the cone in a cup as I could see the custard was really soft - it was fine by me. A spoon was provided. As I devoured this custard combination, they were still fixing my funnel cake fries. I got regular and had requested it to go. When I received it (covered in a cup), I decided to try some soon afterwards (while still in the lot). I did notice a big difference from the last time I got the funnel cake fries here. This time, they came out lukewarm and a bit limp - not sure what happened (maybe they had an off day with it). No biggie as I'll just stick to other things on their menu.

There were endless fruity and chocolate combinations to choose from. I had a chuckle at their Luck O' The Irish flavor, a leprechaun inspired mix of mint Oreo and Lucky Charms. There was a sign stating that samples were limited to two, but I appreciated that the employees let us try a few extra given the overwhelming variety. *Lavender Honey: leaned far more heavily into honey than lavender. I was disappointed by how faint the floral notes were. The base was overly milky and dominated by sweetness rather than any delicate herbal flavor. *Cherry Blossom: suffered from the same issue of muted flavors. Supposedly a rose water and cherry combination, neither ingredient made much of an impression on the base. The rose lacked any fragrance and the cherry failed to provide either tartness or brightness. *Salted Caramel: slightly too aggressive with the sea salt, though it could have worked if the caramel had more depth. Instead, the caramel lacked any rich, toasted flavor, leaving the overall profile rather flat. The variety was entertaining, but the execution fell short. Many of the flavors sounded far more exciting than they actually tasted. The mix-ins and toppings needed to be incorporated more generously, and the bases themselves required stronger infusions to carry the advertised flavors. In the end, the playful names were more memorable than the ice cream itself.

When I pulled in, it was nice to see several parking spaces available. On a much sunnier day, I wouldn't have been as lucky as there are only 17 parking spots, 2 of which are for handicapped patrons. I ordered from this part of the menu: Cones and Cups Choices: Cake Cone, Sugar Cone, Waffle Cone, or a Cup Ice Cream Flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Black Raspberry, Twist. They have several toppings and I wanted to get Butterscotch or Hot Fudge, but the employee reminded me of something: their ice cream is soft serve, so if I wanted to add toppings to my cone, it would need to be placed upside down in a cup. I settled on their jimmies instead (aka sprinkles) and got it on a small vanilla ice cream cone. I had a choice of chocolate or rainbow jimmies and went with the latter. Within a minute or less, I realized the small cone I selected was rather tiny and it had a wallop of ice cream on top. Within seconds, I could see it was about to melt right after it was handed to me, so I grabbed as many napkins as I needed. As I sat on one of their many picnic tables and proceeded to lick one side of this massive cone in front of me, I could feel the drips on the other side of my tiny cone, and this wasn't even on a hot day. I "tried" to be quick but ended up having some of the ice cream melt to the ground or on my fingers. Napkins to the rescue!!! Once I felt I was in control of this cone, the ice cream was good, plus you can't go wrong with vanilla. I was still glad I visited.
