The ice cream is good but the service is atrocious--way too long to get a basic ice cream order. Replace the kids with retired seniors and dramatically improve your customer service or you'll continue to have poor ratings. My boyfriend worked here for almost three years and was recently let go with no appreciation for his hard work or dedication. He consistently worked long days and late nights, often taking on extra responsibilities and doing everything asked of him. Over time, most of the other managers left because of poor leadership. Management often failed to provide support and made excuses for not being available. I've personally seen my boyfriend handle entire shifts on his own and still show up the next day ready to work. It's disappointing to see a company treat a loyal employee this way. I'm ultimately glad he no longer works there, because he deserves a workplace that values and supports its people. read more

Came to visit this establishment. Waited 10 minutes to be served with three workers at the counter. Which unfortunately never happened because I ended up leaving without being served. One person was handling the one other patron in the store, one was doing online orders only and the other employee was working on an order that involved cake. I ended up leaving after asking was there not one employee after waiting 10 minutes who could assist me? I was told not at that moment because there was only one person servicing the counter. Perhaps management needs to train if your counter has a customer waiting for an extended period of time, one of the employees should assist the counter. read more

This location has gone down hill!!! There are too many young people working there that don't do anything but stand around talking and giggling. I was there a few days ago and there was a couple being serviced by one employee and there were several employees in the back. I was waiting 5 mins when an online order came through and one of the girls in the back rushed out to fill the online order which only took about 5 mins then went back in the back. They took 20 minutes to make our ice cream and also there was 3 workers but only 1 was doing everybody's orders. The store smelled horrible. Also there was no rush so I don't know why they took so long for our order. They kept going in the back for like 20 minutes. Everybody else in the store was also annoyed by their service. let me tell you something, coldstones vanilla and sprinkles is to die for, yes it may be expensive but it's worth it, it's fresh and the best. Their costumer service is also amazing, they are so kind and I want to give a shout out to two employee: Meera M and AJ, they have got to be my favorite employees they are so kind and I can tell that they love their job. So go to cold stones it's the best AND it's gluten free, it has a huge variety of gluten free options. It is without a doubt celiac friendly. so if your ever nearby then check it out. The worst place ever!Whatever those ratings may suggest, this place is awful! Initially, the proprietor will gather broken waffle dishes or cones from the floor, place them in a cup, write sample on it, and set it out for patrons. Furthermore, that ice cream is not FRESH! Long hairs have been found in the ice cream on multiple occasions, and the staff just picks them out and acts as if nothing happened! And they have terrible rude management! This is a great place for a nice custom made treat. They've got ready cakes and ice cream sandwiches. Or you can take ice cream home. Although this place is on the pricy side, almost $10 for a chocolate dipped cone with (love it size/medium) ice cream and 3 toppings, it's definitely a splurge. I ordered a Oreo drink and the picture of the Oreo drink did not look like what I got. Didn't even taste like Oreos.

I don't know what happened to the Brownie Al la cold stone... the warm brownie at the bottom ice cream n peanuts n Carmel on top.. that founders day is ok but it's not doing the job.. that brownie Al la cold stone had me in at least 2 to 3 times a week.. now it's only when my children wants ice cream and I'm just sitting there disappointed because my favorite thing on menu is gone. read more

You can't go wrong with Cold Stone. You're picking your ice cream flavor and toppings. Employees at this Oak Lawn location are Friendly. We were greeted as we walked in. I ordered a mud pie mojo (medium) with a chocolate dipped waffle cone and when I got home I realized they gave me a coffee lovers in a cup. I called the next day and the manager was very nice! He replaced the mud pie mojo and he gave me a large. 10/10 would recommend. read more

If I can give a zero star I would. There's 4 little girls working with no manager so there's no order. The line is out the door, while 1 of the girls work. The other three are going to the back drinking water and ignoring the online orders and the orders inside. They keep going to the back room and talking among themselves like they don't have a long line. I would love to give this place a higher rating, but whoever owns this location has no common sense. Hire more people, you are losing major business!! My kids were dead set on coming here. We went a few times last summer to various locations, but this was the first time we went here this summer. O. MY. GOD. We waited like an hour, no joke an hour in line. There was so many times I wanted to turn around and walk out...but my kids were set on me staying in line. I guess the long line just made them think that something magical awaited and once we got past waiting outside....there was no way they were going to let me leave (There was a ton of people who did turn around and leave...hence the lost business comment above.) Being bored out of my mind, I couldn't help but watch the employees. There was 2 girls working their butts off. One of the poor girls looked like she was going to faint and had sweat dripping down her face. Kind of gross considering she is handling your food, but at the same time it's hard to be mad at her about that because she is working so hard to move the never-ending line. She seriously kept sighing and taking deep breathes, I was waiting for her to just get wheeled off in an ambulance because she looked so exhausted and overwhelmed. Finally it was our turn! Large vanilla shake, tiny scoop of chocolate for my little tot, scoop of vanilla in a waffle cone and their cheesecake fantasy. It cost about $20 and unfortunately I have to say it was not worth it. Overpriced, long line...my kids were thankfully not impressed so I don't have to wait in that long line again. Maybe Father's Day is just the icecream holiday of the world....but it was a weekend so you would think they would have more staff on hand. Stopped in yesterday with my family. It had been years since the last time I walked into a Cold Stone Creamery. The pictures on the wall are eye catching. Initially, I wanted to order everything advertised. Eventually I settled down and purchased kids scoop ice cream cones for my daughters, and the Hot For Cookie for my son. The kids scoop serving size is more like a Gerber size scoop for a 1 year old. The Hot For Cookie is served in a similar fashion...taste portion size. I ordered the Brownie A La Code which should be called Brownie Bites A La Fooled You. The picture of this item on the wall does not resemble the product which is given to you. Needless to say, I was disappointed with our family experience at Cold Stone Creamery. Other competing ice cream shops seem to do a better job making their product resemble the pictures they display of their products. read more

I'm never going to understand what the big deal is with having ice cream made on a cold stone but it works. I got the churro caramel crave (don't get it). The churro's texture was not right, and same with the taste. Definitely not worth getting. Come here for the hand mixed ice-cream not for the other stuff. The smoothies weren't that great either. The place is pretty small and they have tables setup inside and outside.. As you can tell I wasn't impressed. I feel that ice-cream can be served faster and less $$. read more

The young people here receive little to no training because they have no idea how to make the creations. I sent a friend with an order. The order was Gotta Have it in a plain waffle bowl. One scoop of sweet cream with Oreo. One scoop of sweet cream with cookie dough. And a regular scoop of cake batter, no mixing. SIMPLE. After making it wrong my friend told her it was wrong and she started from scratch. Then she got that wrong too. why did my friend come back with each flavor in a separate waffle bowl? And then they had the nerve to put a cookie in the bowl. Wait, so I'm supposed to do your job and make my own cookie dough? It was a mess! She was supposed to walk out with one bowl and all the flavors inside. I got two waffle bowls. A bowl with I have no idea what flavor ice cream inside and a cookie inside of bowl?! Then charged for it all. I'm so upset and will not be returning to coldstone. My friend said the girl was confused and had no idea was going on and she just wanted to get out of there so she paid and left. I wish I was there, because I would have not paid for any of that. Great tasting ice cream and decent portions- never a disappointment! I just have one suggestion: the girls serving the ice cream should really be wearing hair nets; even if they have on hats or their hair is in a ponytail. This location has friendly workers, and the ice cream is really good. I have always received generous portion sizes. The only complaint would be better training for new employees. I once asked to have my oreo crushed more, and the girl seemed bothered by that? Really. I am paying $7.00 for an individual dish of ice cream, and I asked to the worker to break the Oreo into more than two big pieces. But overall, I would recommend this place. Cold stone Creamery is definitely my favorite ice cream parlor. I've been coming to this location for several years. I love how many options there are for the ice cream you want. Also they have SOOO many mix-ins! My favorite is the fudge and chocolate chips! You get one mix-in free, but with each additional mix-in, it costs extra. The bill can rack up pretty quickly! The only downside is that they can be pretty slow when there's a crowd. I'm talking a glacial pace here. But besides that, the atmosphere and the service is great. I love this place and I will be coming here for years to come! read more

I'm quite worried about this business. The workers looked stressed and inexperienced. I was worried they didn't take sanitation precautions and were unorganized with the customers orders. They need to hire more workers and have better customer service. This is the second time I have visited this location. I should say, I've only had cold stone twice. I am not impressed. Paying for premium ice cream and the cup isn't even filled. Barely touches the rim. When I asked the young man working behind the counter why, he said his manager/owner had just yelled at him for putting too much ice cream in the cup. Very disappointing. Head on over to Oberweis or even Baskin Robbins and the cups are huge! The owner doesn't seem like a very personable man judging by the young man's explanation. read more
