Worst looking Cake I've ever seen!
Lor H.

I will NEVER purchase from this cold stone in Lodi EVER! They higher than most unprofessional people! I purchased a cake for my son's birthday in October. I asked for a simple white plain cake with the red border. Nothing else. A girl that works there called me and told me that she messed up my cake and put pink instead of red on the very same day as his birthday. I simply told her that I did not want pink because it's for a boy's birthday, and I asked for red. She said she will have to just scrape off the pink and reapply the red border. I told her as long as it looks professional I will pick up. She promised to make sure that my Cake had a red border. I had a family member go pick up the cake because it was already paid for. And it looked awful! She did not do what she said she was going to do fix the cake! She gave me the cake, pink border, and all smeared. It was a Worst Looking cake that I've ever purchased. Very unpresentable that I did not put out on his birthday! I had to go to nothing Bundt cakes in Purchase to Cakes for his birthday. When I called to speak to the manager or owner, the that messed up my Cake told me that she would have them call me and she did not. When I called again. She told me the owner and manager do not want to speak to you and hung up on me.. when I called back again, she told me to come down to the store so she can fight me face to face! How ghetto can somebody be? How do people hire low people like that? For that I will never go to cold stone or refer anybody to cold stone again! When my family member went in there, they told me the place was filthy.

There must be a Banana Split price-fix! Every Ice Cream place in Lodi has priced their Banana Splits at $6.00! Is that a coincidence? Or what? Should the Federal Anti-Trust Commission look into this? After a round-trip ride to Stockton and back yesterday... time for another Banana Split, I thought. What Ice Cream place hadn't I tried, yet? I had not entered a Cold Stone in years... Why not? Banana Split (*** $5.99) If you take a look at the menu board... not a Banana Split in sight! Nor anything besides Scoops of Ice Cream. Wonder why? Whatever... Cold Stone uses exactly the same plastic Banana Split dishes to hold the Split concoction - a rectangular 2 1/2" x 6" dish. Just like Baskin Robbins, though... the richness of the Ice Cream, which is the basis for the quality of any Split, is lacking. But the Ice Cream quality is just a tad better than Baskin Robbins. And there are more toppings that you can place on the Split... for example, four kinds of Nuts! And more variety of Fruit Toppings, also. Not as satisfying as a Banana Split from Richmaid ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/richmaid-restaurant-lodi ), unfortunately. The Good about this Cold Stone - - Right next to Lodi Stadium 12 Cinema ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/lodi-stadium-12-cinemas-lodi ) - A variety of flavors of Ice Cream to make your Split; I'll just stick with the standard Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate. The Bad - - Only 4 2-Person Tables in the whole place! - Cramped space. If there was a waiting line, you'd probably be standing right next to someone trying to consume their Ice Cream - Cold Stone will only give you one Napkin! No Napkin dispensers anywhere! You've got to beg them for more. - Scoopers used to dish out Ice Cream are the mini kind. Small scoops of Ice Cream, just over 2" wide scoops. Just to be thorough in my evaluations, next week I'll try the last place in Lodi that you can get Ice Cream, Velvet Grill & Creamery ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/velvet-grill-and-creamery-lodi ) on Ham & Kettleman.

Just left from here and they must have a new staff I wish I would've got the woman's name she was very sweet polite and took time mixing my family's ice creams instead of just throwing it together.

The place gets busy fast, which is always a good sign, and the food absolutely lives up to the hype. Everything tastes fresh, hot, and made with care. The appetizers are consistently a standout, and the potato skins are a must. Get them Sicilian style. They're savory, satisfying, and the kind of starter everyone at the table keeps reaching for. Honestly, they set the tone for the whole meal. A quick tip: get there early, ideally right when they open. The parking lot is small and fills up quickly, but there is extra parking along the side of the building and behind it, which helps. Still, this is definitely the kind of place where arriving early makes the whole experience easier. And save room for dessert. Seriously. You have to get dessert. This is not the place to skip it. Yes, you may have to wait a bit, but that's part of the deal with well-loved local restaurants like this. The good news is your patience pays off. Guantonio's is warm, welcoming, delicious, and absolutely worth the wait. Here's a slightly punchier version too, in case you want it to sound even more like a real Yelp post: Guantonio's is such a gem in Lodi and definitely one of those local favorite spots that people keep coming back to for a reason. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and worth every bit of the wait. The appetizers are so good, but the potato skins are the real star. Order them Sicilian style. So good. Crispy, hearty, and packed with flavor. One of those appetizers you start thinking about before you even come back. Pro tip: come early, right when they open, because this place fills up fast. The main parking lot is pretty small, but there's more parking on the side of the building and behind it. Once you know that, it's a lot easier. Also, do yourself a favor and get dessert. Don't even debate it. This place gets busy, the wait can build, but your patience will absolutely pay off. Guantonio's is 100% worth it.

I recently checked out Guantonio's for dinner, and overall it was a solid experience... landing at…read morea 4 out of 5 for me. The space has a clean, modern neighborhood feel with a bit of personality. Inside, it's bright and minimalist with warm wood tables, shelves of wine bottles, and a small retail touch (cards, merch) that gives it a local/artisan vibe. There's also a covered outdoor seating area with string lights that looked like a good option for warmer evenings. It's casual but thoughtfully put together, somewhere between a wine bar and a pizza spot. Service stood out as a strong point. It's first-come, first-served (no reservations), but we were seated right away. Staff were prompt and efficient throughout the meal, checking in regularly without hovering, and pacing everything well. We had time to finish our salad before the pizza came out, and they gave us a natural break before dessert. No long waits, no rushing... just well-managed service. We started with the capri salad. I thought it was fresh and well-balanced, but my partner wasn't particularly impressed, and so I'd call that one mixed reviews depending on your expectations. For the main event, we ordered the pepperoni pizza "Nick's way" (with ricotta and hot honey). This was the highlight of the meal. The crust was well executed, nicely cooked with a good chew, not too thick and not overly thin. The pepperoni and hot honey combination worked really well, giving it that sweet-and-savory balance that keeps you going back for another slice. The cheese was excellent, with the ricotta adding a nice contrast. If I had one critique, it's that the sauce was a bit light. I would've preferred a slightly heavier hand there to round things out, but it didn't take away from the overall quality. We each had a glass of wine, my partner had a Pinot, and I had a red blend (not labeled as a house wine, and I couldn't find the exact winery afterward). The by-the-glass selection is limited, but they do have a fairly extensive bottle selection if you want more options. For dessert, we both went with sundaes and honestly, these are worth coming back for on their own. Simple, well done, and genuinely satisfying. If you're nearby, it wouldn't be a stretch to stop in just for dessert. Overall, a strong neighborhood spot with excellent pizza, well-paced service, and standout desserts. A few minor limitations (light sauce, limited wine-by-the-glass options), but definitely worth a visit.
