I've been waiting my whole life to try cold stone creamery. I finally got the chance to visit this location while out and about in Greensburg. While service was fast, I can't say the whole experience was really worth the trip, or price. I brought my daughter along for ice cream on a Monday afternoon. I have seen that they make the ice cream right in front of you. Imagine ice cream hibachi! That sounds fun and exciting but due to all the mix ins and such, you can't even see the mixing happen. Which is definitely disappointing because the "experience" must be what your paying. The serving sizes are definitely lacking for the price. 14$ got us two scoops of ice cream, meaning one small scoop each... My daughter got the magically delicious lucky charms ice cream. She said it tasted okay but it definitely did not look like the picture. It was mixed with whipped cream (which is shown on top in the photo) and it made it seem melted. I got the chocolate brownie which was okay too, but honesty everything tasted the same. I couldn't really differentiate between the brownie bites, chocolate chips and the chocolate ice cream other than it being different textures. I really just don't see the hype. All in all, the lady behind the counter was great but I don't think we will be back again.

@ Cold Stone Creamery, their gimmick is that you can pick your flavor and then pick any type of "mixins" you'd like to have "mixed in to" your ice cream. They get a big 'ol scoop and throw it on a cold slab and then mix in bits of cookies, candy bars, traditional toppings, etc. Whatever you want out of their selection. 3 sizes: "Like It" (sm), "Love It" (med) and "Gotta Have It" (Lrg) PROS: Truly customizable; Sooooo many flavors to choose from; Many of the flavors are unique; All are delicious; The staff is friendly. CONS: Pricey, for ice cream; The staff, although friendly, must hate their job... they have to do these "cheers" @ random intervals for the guests in the store... very humiliating for them, I'm sure! :( Because of the nature of their gimmick, if its busy... it can take forever to get your ice cream, pay and get the heck out of the way for the next guy. Not a good selection of frozen yogurt or sugar free ice cream. On the expensive side too.

When you step up to the window to order, you can see what an amazing job they did on the inside. It a tiny, cute kitchen and decorated perfectly. They had several different types of cupcakes available and I was excited to try a few. I decided on 3 different flavors: Strawberry Fields, Queen of Tarts, and The Acorn. The Acorn was a chocolate/peanut butter combination that features a cute little acorn-shaped buckeye on top. The peanut butter flavor definitely came out. The Queen of Tarts was a terrific lemon/raspberry flavoring. Not only did the lemon cake taste very citrusy, but there was fresh raspberry preserves inside the cake mixed with a lemon curd. My favorite, though was the Strawberry Fields. The fresh strawberries in the middle, combined with the perfect buttercream on top was just the start. On top of the buttercream icing there was a dusting of strawberry crumble. The flavor of strawberry really came through on this cupcake and it was delicious. The icing on all of the cupcakes was smooth and delicious. There was quite a bit of icing, which can sometimes take over the cake, but that is probably just personal preference. The cake, in my opinion, could have been slightly more moist as the cupcakes were all a bit on the crumbly side. But all in all, the cupcake flavors came through wonderfully and I really enjoyed all the combinations.

When I would drive between home and college I would stop here almost every single time. It was convenient for me. But back in those days this place did not look like it does today. It was the old setup and it was a mess. Now, they built anew (at least it is new to me). Still in the same spot, but it has been updated with all the bells and whistles that Sheetz has become known for. Only thing missing is a drive thru, but this location doesn't have the space for that. Friendly staffing makes for an easy flow through this store. I came in for a quick drink and was on my way.

I'm a real salt wh*re and I could barely take it. - Mel I'd give the taco salad a 4 out of 10. The lettuce was fresh, but I'm from Southern California, so I'm a tough critic when it comes to Mexican food. The staff was friendly and the salad was edible, but they won't be receiving any Michelin stars any time soon. Next time I visit Pittsburgh I won't be ordering a taco salad. - Lindsey Loved the Monster Energy Iced Tea and Jumbo Beef Pepperoni sticks!!! - Kenny I build a nice, affordable six inch veggie sub. 7 out of 10. This one is on US 119 heading towards I-70 and the Turnpike. That is odd, or maybe unique, about this location is that it kind of encompasses a competitor. They built this right next to, and around, a BP gas station location. Honestly do not know what they were thinking when they did this and it is interesting to see nonetheless. That aside, it is amazing that this location is so huge. The lot itself is decent. Six pump stations under the island for a total of twelve spots. Drive thru capability. But the star of the business is the actual inside of the main building. They use the newer layouts for the inside which incorporate the convenience store with the sit down eatery that they have been leaning towards. Basically they do this to allow for them to have a beer cave. They don't have to add on like the do at other locations. They have all amenities that people have come to expect from Sheetz. I had visited when they had recently just opened this location. Which appears to be a welcomed addition to the area. It was a bit crowded with people waiting for food. Never noticed this at other locations before, but they have a screen up that shows the progress of the orders and which orders are ready for pick up. Nice added touch instead of having the employees get on the overhead, or worse yet yell through the whole store that your order is ready. Drive thru is great too if you just want the food or essentials from their menu. Overall, great location, but odd.
