Speedway has steadily been increasing their presence in the area and usually within distance to create competition with a nearby gas station chain. There is no difference in this area. New Alexandria has been kind of an oasis while driving Route 22 with it's one gas station that was open 24/7. With the addition of this station you now have a choice. Speedway is similar to the competition up the road in several ways. Open 24/7, offers food, and has a wide selection of items that you can grab and go. However this spot has a couple variations. First they offer diesel for the bigger vehicles on the roadways, so the lot is larger. Another is that they offer a sit down area to eat your food. Speaking of the food. Some of the items are heavy on the stomach and others are sparse on the toppings. Quick in the sense that once you order, by the time you pay your items are ready for pick up. One thing I do not like about this place is the fact that you do not seem to get great gas mileage from the fuel. Once I filled up here and went on my way, I basically needed to fuel up the next day. In my travels what would be a complete circuit for me, I used a half a tank of gas. Not great when I usually use much less than that. In the future, I will go elsewhere for fuel for my car, but I may end up stopping in for a quick item of fuel for myself.

Fountain drinks are priced fairly even through all of the inflation hikes, food is pretty good as convenience store food goes, you can even sit down and drink a beer out two if you'd like. (Which I haven't but thought it kinda cool that you can do that in Pa Now). Gas prices are comparable to others in the vicinity... And they have rewards where you can save $ on gas as well.

With there not being much competition in this area of Greensburg, the prices aren't always great. The inside portion is cramped, actually this whole place is cramped. So if you have never been to a Speedway before but have been to a Sheetz, you already know what you are in for. Most of the same. Prepackaged snacks, coolers full of drinks, coffee bar with all the fixings and a place to order a quick meal to either take with you or eat in house in the small cafe section. This location is pretty new in the sense that it hasn't been open long. It is quite huge and can accommodate an onslaught of vehicles at any given time. Inside is nice and big as well. Customer service was alright, make sure you get their savings card, whatever the name of it is. The only thing I don't like about this place is the close proximity to the scenic hotel that has been there for years. All the sudden you now have a 24 hour gas station as a neighbor, get a room facing the other way now.

If you are not familiar with this place it sits where Giant Eagle use to have a store straight out…read moreof the late 70s. Now, let me tell you a story of why this place is setup the way it is. Before Pennsylvania decided to get with the times with their liquor laws Giant Eagle as well as several other companies and corporations tried their hardest to find loopholes on selling alcohol to their customers. This is the case with this place. It is a GetGo, but it is set up so differently than other locations. Prior the changes in alcohol sales you were not allowed to sale alcohol in gas stations/convenience stores, so for them to bypass this they decided to build a GetGo gas station and a GetGo café separately on one piece of land. The gas station part is setup like what you would find near a Giant Eagle. Really can't buy much at the gas island portion, but as soon as you go to the other side of the lot you have the store part. In order to sale alcohol you needed to prove that you had a café on premise or had the ability for patrons to eat at your property. That is what they did here. Allowing for beer to be sold without having to go to a distributor. The café part is close to immaculate. Everything is clean and organized. Late at night it is mostly quiet. I am always appreciative of the free air for tires which I partook in while I was here.
