In clearing out some of my check ins from my travels I noticed I hadn't given this a spot a review and just remembered what a great experience I had! Cold stone has been around for decades now, offering up what they call the 'Ultimate' Ice Cream was experience- ice cream anyway you want it! I am admittedly a homer for Strawberry ice cream, but I have seen other customers order all kinds of combos when it comes to shakes, and other ice cream items. Customer service always stands out to me , in fact I enjoy tipping the staff for those songs they have to sing!!! But what really impressed me is the owners of this place, as I found out this location is under new management. The owners placed signage in the store with a # to call ( I was told it's their personal cell#) if you have any issues whatsoever with your experience- that is rare, especially for a chain establishment. I respect that and felt a review was in order. Again I am homer for strawberry ice cream and usually stick to that but my family loves to create all kinds of different concoctions-and they promptly devour them! Avoid this Cold Stone. Didn't have hardly any ice cream when we were in the store - not even basic chocolate ice cream. No cones were made so I asked for a small of the cake batter and received a half assed scoop. My friend ordered cake batter and sprinkles and it tasted like peanut butter? We waited in line for no joke, 45 minutes for two ice cream's because he decided to let his coworker do it all and act like he had absolutely nothing to do to help her out. I wouldn't even rate this franchise location 1 star if it wasn't required for a review. The "teenage" staff was incredibly rude. Refused service to my 2 yr old toddler who had no mask. I understand that a mandate is in place to protect us all but come on...he is 2 and I had to carry him out crying because he couldn't get his ice cream. 25 Years of cold stone..! This location is fairly new and clean. The ice cream lady made my ice cream and that of my wife's too large and needed to put them both in a larger dish. Worst serviced I've received in a long time. The 2 young lady's working were very rude and they were out of 7-8 different ice creams that I usually see at other cold stone locations. Every time they saw a customer come in they had a bad reaction and since they were rushing everything the ice creams were a mess, the cups were dripping ice cream and they wouldn't even clean it. I'm not one to ever leave reviews, but this store and their managers/staff deserve some recognition. Last night I left my wallet after having some delicious ice cream and encountering wonderful service. I had a flight this morning and needed my wallet and the owners and staff went out of their way to get it to me 5 hours before the store even opened. There is so much more that the ingredients you taste, which was great but I feel what makes a store great is the employees and managers that will go out of their way for their guest. I rarely see laziness meet poor planning like this. Saturday night and two people behind the counter. Line has literally 17 people in it while the young lady takes her sweet ass time slowly transferring chocolate fudge to a squirt bottle as the line lengthens. She then moves to cashier area to ring up a few customers while her male colleague pontificates over frozen strawberries and whether or not he can sell them to a customer who just haaaaaas to have strawberries. But alas, they are frozen. The woman slowly dons her safety gloves as the line lengthens... "can I help you?" She asks the customer across the counter. I really hope the owner of this location is reading the reviews because your workers are killing your business. Cold Stone is known to be a nice, higher end ice cream shop and this location is anything but. My friend walked in and had to call for the employee to come out to help her. When I got there, after waiting for a while, a woman popped her head out from the back and after a few minutes, a man came out of the bathroom and finally helped us. No gloves, wild hair all over the place. Ok, I guess I can get over that part.....but here's where the grossest thing ever happened. I had the sweet cream ice cream with apple pie mixed in. The apple pie tasted so gross, like metal. I told the man and instead of throwing it out....he ate it!!!!!! Like, ate the ice cream that was in my mouth, right off my spoon!!!! Who does that???? If he is eating not only out of a cup of icecream from a patron, but off the same spoon that's been in my mouth (with ice cream still on it) right in front me....what on earth is going on here where we can't see. He switched out my ice cream for an oreo one, but after a few bites, I had to throw it out because the thought of what just happened disguisted me. If I could give zero stars or even a -one star I would. This is absolutely the worst coldstone I have ever been to. If I were the owners who proudly display they own this location on a big sticker on the front door, I would be humiliated and embarrassed. It was absolutely filthy, I was the only person in the store on a Saturday at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and it took both girls who are working approximately 10 minutes to realize I was even in the store. When they finally came out from the back room. When they finally came out from the back room, one girl asked me if I needed help I said well yes, of course. She said sorry about that we were looking for the dust pan. And without washing her hands she slapped on some food service gloves the kind that are literally the thinnest plastic you can get and proceeded to make my ice cream I almost just walked out but I was too committed to the purchase at that point. Then I watched her make my ice cream while telling me that they're out of one of the ingredients and did I want to substitute I said sure. She makes it then leaves half of it on the slab, She then puts a small amount in my medium cup and proceeds to hand it to me with ice cream slopped all over the sides. I was not going to ask her to wipe it off or give me another cup because I knew that would be cross-contamination with whatever was on the rag I can see. Then charged me $6.94 for a half serving of what I should've been charged. I walked outside walk next-door to Starbucks in through the ice cream in the trash I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Not only because of the flies in this location but also because I know that they were cleaning in the back room or doing something and she never washed her hands I should've just walked out I should've wasted my time but I wanted to see how bad the service really was just out of sheer interest. I ordered a birthday cake and spent $35. Not a cheap cake. I asked for 3 mix-ins and vanilla cake with chocolate ganache icing. They dumped one of the mix-ins on the top in a pile (like they forgot it until the last second) and didn't bother with the other 2 mix-ins. When I called to ask what happened, they said that I had to ask for them to be mixed in. WHAT?? They are called "mix-ins". Isn't that what they do - mix toppings into the ice cream? That was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I told them I wanted an ice cream cake with 3 mix-ins. I don't understand why that is confusing to them. When I asked for manager the manager went off and argued about why she had to find the discontinued toy which wasn't my problem. My girlfriend and I are big fans of Cold Stone. However, this location is an exception to the great service and great ice cream we are used to elsewhere. They are always understaffed. The ice cream and ingredients aren't ever mixed together thoroughly. Last visit, my girlfriend's ice cream was given to us already melted. So, if I could give this store zero stars, I would. Let me start from the beginning. I had ordered two cakes for my daughter and niece who are 6 and 8 years old and had called the day before to place my special orders. The manager, Taylor, confirmed that my order would be ready at 1pm the next day. He told me that their policy was to pay in full, when I placed the order. I called at 1 pm the day of pick up to confirm that my order was ready. Maria answered the phone and stated that the freezer was locked and she didn't know whether my cakes were ready. I asked her to open it and told her that I was on my way, as I had a deadline and had to pick them up as soon as possible. I gave her an hour and arrived at 2pm. When I arrived, my cakes were not ready as Maria had done nothing at this point. She could not get a hold of the manager or the decorator. She had no authority to make any decisions or the ability to resolve the issues at hand. On top of that she was very unprofessional and defensive. She didn't apologize and just escalated the situation. We asked for a full refund for the inconvenience and were denied. Again, had I not paid prior to pick up, I would have just gone elsewhere. Jyoti, the owner, finally called me back 3 hours later and apologized but stated that as long as the cakes were delicious, the issue was not a big deal. He only refunded $10, even though I asked for a full refund. We ended up being more than an hour late for our celebration. At the end of the day, if this store valued their customers and service, they would have responded professionally and timely. read more
