We ordered an ice cream cake from this location for my sister's confirmation (religious event) and were greatly disappointed with the way the cake turned out. The lettering looks like it was done by a toddler in the early stages of their writing development. The name isn't even straight, its sloping down as if it was tumbling as low as this review. The attention to detail, or lack there of, is almost nonexistent. You can see streaks of caramel randomly on top of the cake which just shows how sloppy of a job they did. This was a very important moment for my sister and it was incredibly heartbreaking to see the look on her face go from excitement to disappointment. If i could give 0 stars i would. read more

I have been getting ice cream cakes from here for as long as they have been located in Biltmore Village. This weekend we picked up a cake for my fathers birthday and was extremely unhappy!! When we called to order the cake the employee taking the order was put out by my call, kept telling me they never had the item I requested (when I have always gotten it) When we picked the cake up I was in shock at how it looked, it looked like a child threw it together. No toppings the shavings at the bottom of the case was at a bare minimal almost like they ran out of chocolate. Sadly, due to the confusion and miscommunication I didn't reserve a large rectangle to get the most that I could. Good thing I sort of didn't. I don't think I had enough space in my freezer. So got the next largest size, which was the circular ice cream cake. I warn you that these slices are big, but they're so damn good. Bought it and that was that. Personally, Cold stone is my favorite place to go get ice cream with the grandkids. From the array of flavors to the way the ice cream is hand mixed, this ice cream place really stands out. I've found that in the Biltmore park location there are a lot of very nice and well trained young people working there, and my encounter with employee Campbell was very helpful and brightened my day. This is the perfect place to bring kids on a hot summer day. read more

Amazing service from the kids working in there! Lola helped me navigate my dairy allergy by letting me try their pink lemonade sorbet, which was delightful. After having a wonderful birthday celebration at a near by restaurant we were craving a yummy creamy dessert. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted with a hello and how may I help you from 2 lovely young ladies. This is your typical Cold Stone Creamery layout nothing fancy just down to business as soon as you walk through the door...typical chain franchise. I believe the items you purchase at this establishment is WAY over priced for what you get. I got a small scoop with 2 toppings which included marshmallows, that were stale, and strawberries....2 strawberries to be exact YES I said 2. These ingredients were not fresh by any means and made the dessert just bland, overpriced, and didn't make very happy. The banana ice cream was very good but so disappointed in the toppings and the value for my dessert. There are way too many other good ice cream establishments in Asheville so I will most likely not be back. read more

Sanitation!!! I am definitely NOT a germ freak or some germaphobe. BUT, standing waiting to be served, my wife had ordered and her dessert was being made. A teenager comes strolling out of the back and I noticed one hand under his apron(it was soiled) and one hand rubbing his nose. Junior proceeded to ask what I would like. Told him what I would like the most is maybe a hand wash and or a pair of gloves before he handles my food. Well Junior copped an attitude not unlike a spoiled child when called out for inappropriate behavior and proceeded to give me 3/4 cup of ice cream which was good but seeing as how basic sanitation is provided only when demanded I will be buying my $7 ice cream elsewhere. read more

Excellent ice cream! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Only issue is with customers who come in who have children and do not supervise them very well. We had a child push her way on top of us and talked loudly as to where we had a hard time ordering. Another parent, was scolding his child for yelling after he force fed the child ice cream! We visited cold stone after a movie and the service was excellent! (1/13/2013) It was early evening and there were two gentlemen serving us. They were quite the entertainment with how they handle the ice cream! The thing that impressed us the most was how helpful they were with my egg allergy. They had a full listing of ice cream with allergy listing. He even went as far to get the ice cream from the back and used a clean spot of the marble to mix!
