We were looking for small treats and found ourselves at Kilwins for a little icecream. But I will say, I was very tempted to go wild in the store and try a ton of other things. Good thing I wasn't too hungry or I would have spent a ton of $! :) The woman who waited on us was very friendly and allowed us to sample a few flavors we were on the fence about. They have plenty of options - something for everyone, I'm sure. I went with the salted caramel and thought it was very well done. Just a one scoop was plenty. The display of caramel apples, fudge, and other cadies was beautiful and they had someone making treats in the front part of the store, which was fun to take in the process.

Always great at Kilwin's! They are great about letting you sample. The associates are great about answering questions. We have visited several locations and this one was a little smaller but still had a great selection. Got fudge for later!

After a double dinner date, we planned to get some sweets and the girls got ice cream and the guys got large peanut butter cups. Lots of flavors of ice cream to choose from and heard the caramel apple options are very good. The peanut butter cup was great, but a lot of peanut butter filling. If you don't like peanut butter as much as me than you may be in for a larger than life pb experience. LOL

My family and I were visiting Asheville, and decided it would be nice to have some ice cream after lunch. After checking Yelp, we learned about Kilwins and decided to stop by. Kilwins serves more than just ice cream, they also sell fudge, caramel apples and caramel corn. I ordered two scoops in a waffle cone and it was delicious!

Found this gem right across the street from our hotel (Cambria) in downtown. The ice cream was excellent and they offer many exciting flavors - wish I could have tried them all! The chocolates, baked items and candy apples all looked amazing as well.

I really like Kilwins and stop here everytime I am in Downtown Asheville. I like how they make the products in the store, sometimes while you are there but if not, the front window shows what they have been making. They give a sample of fudge when you enter and if you buy two slices a third is free. There are caramels, caramel apples, chocolates, marshmallows, popcorn, ice cream. The chocolates are not individually wrapped or even put in a box. What I ordered were all put together in plastic wrapper so were a melted glob by the time I got to them. It is disappointing as the chocolates are not cheap. I will stick to the fudge and ice cream at this Kilwins. The store has one table with two chairs so could use some more seating in the store. The waffle cones were really good.

Oh my got, this place is amazing. Moved to asheville and decided to start exploring. Richard was the perfect person for me yo encounter and I enjoyed talking with him. The place is clean, and smells like heaven. I cannot wait to revisit and get ice cream. The service was also great. And Richard was a joy to talk.

Hello Yelpies & connaîtres, if these yummy photos are not enough to get you running down Wall Street to visit Kilwins on your next visit to Asheville then perhaps these descriptors might be... This old-fashioned confectionary boasts nine flavors of the world's best Mackinac Island fudge, 32 flavors of Kilwin's Original Recipe Ice Cream, six types of caramel apples, caramel corns and brittles, fresh candies and chocolaty treats! And try a free sample.

Four Salted Carmel's to-go, since I was waiting for my dinner for pick-up right next door. Two birds, one stone kinda thing! Kilwins make their own caramel in-house in big copper vats that are big enough to take a bath in. Ok, ok, so maybe just Japanese barrel tub size, but still, big. Naturally, their promo creamy, super addictive and definitely indulgent caramel candies are their clam to fame, but they also do A LOT of chocolate candies that are just as delish. And, just when you think you're in Candy Land Heaven, take a stroll to the back of the store and you'll see that Kilwins serves ice cream, TOO! Creamy, dreamy, comma inducing, you get the drift - basically Sweet Utopia! If your looking for the more traditional gift of local handmade chocolates that are tasty as fluff, Kilwins is an excellent choice!

Customer service: 5 stars: came in around 5pm on 09-30-18, we were greeted as soon as we walked in and we were also offered to try a sample of fudge. We sampled 3 icecream flavors and the lady helping us was very kind. Icecream: 5 stars: they always have good icecream. I was happy to see they had my favorite toasted coconut. All locations dont carry this flavor. They didnt have it in Charleston when I visited there 2 weeks ago. If you are a plain Jane of icecream you will love this place. I don't need all the bells and whistles just have good icecream and they have that unlike many creameries I've been to. Cleanliness: 5 stars: THEY DONT ALLOW DOGS IN HERE unlike ben and Jerry's around the corner. I like ben and Jerry's but once I saw 4 damn dogs in there I was like hell to the naaaah! People leave your damn dogs at home! Not everyone is dog lover, a lot of children are afraid of dogs, RESPECT THOSE WITH DOG ALLERGIES, and not everyone finds your fleabag adorable and clean. A dude had to get his limbs amputated in Wisconsin because his dog licked him, look it up in USA Today. And before any twit inboxes No they were not "service dogs" they belonged to hipster scum that wanted to show off muffin top the poodle new cut and dye job **rolls eyes** Price point: 3 stars: the place is steep! $10 for 2 cones is high way robbery but I paid it to be free of dogs licking, shaking, and scratching. The candies and fudge are pricey too but where else are you going to go and get this? Overall: the place is fun to visit and will satisfy the average sweet tooths craving from icecream to fudge to chocolate candies. As long as they carry toasted coconut icecream I will be a patron.

My friends and I ducked in to grab some ice cream and avoid the rain, and we were very happy with our decision! The store is conveniently in downtown Asheville so very close a bunch of other small shops and restaurants. There is ample street parking right outside. The displays are all super enticing with the fudge, candy apples, ice cream, and other treats. I had to restrict myself to just one scoop of ice cream. The workers were super nice and friendly even when my indecisive self asked to try a million different flavors. I ended up with the Georgia peach, which was both fruity and creamy at the same time. It sounds like a weird combination but it was really good! The prices are pretty steep as is usual for most dessert/chocolate/ice cream shops like this sadly but I think definitely worth it if you're craving something sweet and in the area!

Kilwins never disappoints! Came here after dinner for some ice cream and could smell the sweets from a few doors down. As we entered, the staff behind the counter offered customers free samples of fudge. I ordered the Asheville mud and caramel apple in a waffle cone. I usually never order waffle cones, but this one was crispy and yummy!

YUMMMMMMM. So good…read more My friend is an ice cream cookie monster and has it several times a day when we travel bc that's her favorite thing when she travels is to try all the ice cream in town. I'm happy to oblige, lol. So, after an hour in the Asheville Salt Cave, we walked over here to try this ice cream. Two staff inside working, it was incredibly hot inside, were happy to answer questions and greeted us warmly. They had a nice selection of flavors on the wall and a few specialty flavors. My friends went with a salted caramel vanilla and a peanut chocolate flavor. Both were OK but mine was the star of the show for me. I chose the Vanilla Oreo Cream which was this delicious creamy vanilla mixture with huge chunks of Oreo cookies. It was smooth, it was sweet, it was delicious. As a cookies and cream fan, this was top notch. They sell lactaid pills here if you need them, to assist with stomach discomfort from dairy. Smooth and creamy ice creams here with a range of delicious flavors. If we'd had time, we would've stopped in every single day!

The address in Yelp brought us to a blue building clearly marked with the address we were looking for BUT it was a pharmacy. We persisted. We eventually found an ice cream store behind the pharmacy called "The mad dipper". We went in and talked to the young woman working there. She said they used to be "The ultimate ice cream" but they were bought about a year ago and the name was changed to The Mad Dipper." She tried hard to convince us they were the same but after having looked at the pictures prior to arriving I would disagree. We still ordered ice cream and it was good but nothing special. There were a few inside tables as well as outside. It appeared clean but disorganized. The young woman working was kind and polite. She did a good job. Would we go back- probably not. I am still trying to understand how/why the new owners have not taken the time to update their Yelp page. Really poor marketing!

Our favorite part was the sundae, I highly recommend getting their ice creams. The tiramisu and truffles were fine compared to the sundae. When we were there they played a great mix of Robyn, Whitney Houston, and some other artists. It feels like you're in your cool friend's living room. They had a small food menu that was very intriguing and eccentric. My eyes locked in on the Thai Tea Panna Cotta! OMG yum! It was decadent, luscious and was so flavorful. The layered coconut milk and that lemon meringue on top was such a nice touch of acid to cut through all that richness. I'm a sucker for boba pearls too so it was all delicious.
