That being said, I'm not writing this to be damaging, since I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they're good and competent since they were booked for the rest of the week. I just simply didn't get a good vibe when I called for a price estimate. When the owner returned my call, she was very polite and kudos to her for calling me back. However, when I told her the sizes and breed (reputably gentle breed by the way) of my dogs (they're big-uns but not St. Bernard-sized by any means, but they're not big enough to punt/shove in a purse either), she made a "eeeesh/iiiiiick" sound, something along those lines. I'm sure she didn't mean it in a bad way since after all she grooms pets for a living, but perceivably it came across negatively to me. What dog groomer reacts like that to a potential interested customer over the phone? Then after a few "hmms and haws" she gave me an estimate off the top of her head. This leads me to believe that this salon doesn't routinely groom larger dogs. I'm sure they do well grooming smaller-sounding dogs, but I'll be going elsewhere.
