The place seems like a popular local restaurant with very few tourists visiting, since it's located in downtown Cancun and away from the hotel zone. Our waiter didn't speak English so it was a great opportunity to practice my Spanish. But fear not, there is one waiter who does speak fluent English. Once we settled in, we were served some warm bread with a spicy habanero salsa. Very delicious! We decided to go with pasta and the waiter was very helpful providing his recommendations all along. Also, he suggested that we go with one order of pasta for two persons, since portion sizes were big. We really appreciated his gesture, of not trying to sell more than was required. The pasta was very tasty, made al dente, in true Italian style. Next time, would love to try the wood fired pizza. They looked delicious as well. P.S - After your meal, you can take a stroll in the Palapas Park (Parque las palapas). A great place to experience local life, with plenty of food carts, toys and other wares being sold.

The location is super cozy, with both indoor and outdoor sesting possibilities. The staff is very nice, service minded and friendly, and contributes well to the dinner experience of this place. The prices are super cheap, and the portions are quite good. If you are an eater (like me), I'd recommen getting either a burger for starter and then a pizza for main course, or go for two pizzas. They opt for medium and large sized pizzas, but the large one isn't that much bigger than a medium. It looks like it perhaps gives you one or two extra slices. For starter we went with burgers both days, and had the monster cheese with blue cheese and the american burger. If you're into blue cheese, you gotta try the monster cheese. It has a great mix in between regular cheeses and chunks of blue cheese. Simply delicious! The bun of the burgers are really fluffy and tasty, and all in all the burgers are great! With Italian food, I also prefer very good Italian wine versus a cocktail. He pointed me to 2 red wines that were bold and heavy as I requested. Both were just OK, but expensive. Wines by the bottle was ridiculously high. Regardless, he was great in steering me to the type of dishes more suited to what I was asking for and not just the most expensive. This restaurant has been highly recommended by my brother and sister in law for years. They had told us it was one of the best Italian food they have had anywhere. But, In its previous location, it just looked a bit stuffy for a CANCÚN vacation meal. At its new location, though it was still upscale, it seemed more approachable to us somehow. We just came back from a 10 day vacation at the Amalfi coast, and Rome, Italy. We found the pastas at Cenacolo to be comparable if not better.
