The MORNING of the party when I'm running to pick up cake, ice, etc. I called Michael's from my car & asked if balloons were ready. This was approx. 2 pm. The man on the phone said " we can't find it". Not sure what that means so I asked what I should do next? He gave the phone to a woman who said, "bring your reciept to prove you bought it." When I purchased the lady said, "you're all set, you don't need anything else, just show up and we'll have it ready for you". I have no idea where the receipt is 2 months later!! I had to drive home turn my home upside down & found it. Sped to Michaels where they had my ballons by the register. I walked up and said "hi, are those my ballons"? She said "yeah, here" AND WALKED AWAY. Because I'm the nicest person you'll ever meet rather than run out I wanted a reason for all this so I asked "do we know what went wrong" to which this lady who looked like the manager replied, "the lady who took your order was crazy, she doesn't work here anymore". What?!?! Super unprofessional. Manager didn't even look at my receipt or at least apologize. Horrible experience. I will NEVER buy my balloons from Michael's & will try & stear clear of any purchases in the future.

Staples had a good quality, but Blick's were very high quality AND cheaper than Staples. This was the first time that I shopped at this Blick as they recently moved into this former Joann store from their India Street location. While this store is a little more out-of-the-way, it is a wonderful size for Blick, and all on one level. Items are easy to find and nicely displayed, making the store a joy to browse in. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it. They also have some fun not-exactly-art things, but fewer books than I remember being at the India store. Lots of easy parking. Helpful service, too.

I needed to get some mount boards for the San Diego County fair entries for my school. What I like…read moreabout this location is the parking. Lots of spaces and easy to get in and out. What I don't like is how sterile this new location is. I miss the homey down to earth feeling of the Little Italy location. I couldn't find the mount boards. I used to know where they were at the old location, and you could purchase single boards or a pack. After wandering around, I asked one of the workers. She was really great, and since they did not have 11x14, she suggested I purchase a larger board and they could cut it down. Went up and purchased the board, and the friendly worker call this other guy and explained what I needed. 5 minutes later, I had two boards, plus the extra that was cut off. There was some interesting things to look at while I was waiting. It doesn't look like the space is finished and I didn't know how long they've been here. But like I said, parking was so much easier which I really like!

We came in today for my sons friends birthday to buy him a gift. We ended up asking about needohs…read morebecause we saw it behind the counter. I asked how much they were and the woman and younger woman behind the counter both had disgusted looks on their faces. When I asked any questions about needohs, she had the same annoyed look on her face like she wanted to leave and didn't want to deal with it. I asked how much they were, and what colors they had. When I told my son to tell them Which ones they wanted, since they had them behind their counter, and when I told my son's friend to pick which one he wanted, she look confused. I told her it was his birthday, and she didn't say anything. It was an awkward dismissive silence. Then an older woman who was counting woman yelled "there's only 4 per family." The whole time I was confused what the cashier seemed so disgusted about, but it made my son's friends birthday experience really weird. My son had bunny ears on from their store and & she said in a very annoyed voice "are you going to buy those too?" We said no, and took them off right away. She looked like she was in a rush because I was confused how much was in the bag, she didn't confirm what we asked for, and didn't understand their limits and lack of explanation but she said thank you and looked relieved we left. I was relieved to not have to deal with unpleasant customer service that treat you like a burden. There's other stands at the mall that sell needohs as well for the same price in different and bigger. You don't have to deal with a cashier who looks like she hates you and the kids you're with :) please don't work here if you don't know how to communicate or have patience with kids or families!!
