As someone who flosses every night, brushes twice a day with a Sonicare toothbrush, mouthwashes twice a day, regularly wears a retainer at night, and didn't develop her first cavity until her late twenties, I was flabbergasted when the hygienist told me that I had ten cavities! She also told me that I would need a deep cleaning under my gums. (I didn't meet with a dentist after either cleaning, which I found odd.) I tried to rationalize that it was because of the three year gap between cleanings, but something just didn't feel right. A few days later I called for a copy of my x-rays and made an appointment with my former dentist. After reviewing the x-rays and examining my teeth the following week, he found ZERO cavities! On another note, my friend received a phone call from County Dental asking her when she would like to make an appointment to fill her six cavities to which she responded that she was unaware she had six cavities! Needless to say neither family will be returning.

From day one I had bad vibes from the office appearance, the waiting time, and finally the doctor himself. I should have trusted my instincts. Dr. Hurwitz was condescending, vague and evasive when we asked questions.The office is small, hot, stuffy and appears to not have been updated since 1972. He volunteered little to no information to how the procedure worked. The treatment room is not private; there is more than one treatment chair in one large, cluttered, room so the patients can be lined up in assembly line fashion. The assistants, who seem pretty young and have heavy foreign accents, do much of the work. We were given no information as how to care for the braces as far as brushing. When asked if there were a special way to brush the braces, he said no! The retainer that was given did not fit properly. We were given contradicting information about whether you should eat with or without the retainer. Within 3 hours of having braces placed on the teeth, 3 brackets broke off. Save your time. I find it incredible that this guy is still practicing. Shop around. Today, there are more modern methods to straighten teeth.

I found out they offer whitening and also teeth straightening. I explained to the doctor my lower teeth need some help and she suggested that I take a minute scan to see if my teeth can be straightened. I got my teeth scanned by an actual dentist! Believe it or not its so freaking affordable. I'm so excited I will be getting my aligners in the mail in a few weeks . I'll will update this review in a few months once I get going.
