I came in here the other morning on the way to run some errands with my mom. I was running on an empty stomach and needed something to fuel me for the day. When we walked in we greeted by a kind employee. I ordered my usual coffee order and then got this bacon, egg, and cheese pastry. It ended up being really good and tasted like it had a mix of different herbs. The egg in the middle was a boiled egg so i found that interesting. Coffee stop before a spa day nearby. This cafe is doing a lot at once, a good menu but sour espresso. The good: if you are stopping in before a mountain bike ride this place is targeting you. Large breakfast drink menus a good mix of breakfast sandwiches and baked goods and a shop with novelty items and biking gear. The bad: I was not here prior to a biking trip... my wife tried one of their specialty coffee drinks and had no complaints but I had a double espresso which was very sour and had no crema. Maybe I'd stop back before a bike ride for a sando but hold the espresso. read more

Amazing, visited 3 days in a row and tried many different homemade syrups in the lattes. My favorite was the s'mores latte! Also ordered a large yummy ginger molasses cookie. Highly recommend this place! read more

I stopped in here for a snack in-between hikes. I was contemplating a smoothie and a chai latte. They use a concentrate for their chai latte, so I opted for just the sun glow smoothie (banana, strawberry, goji, acai, almond milk). I added a scoop of orgain vanilla plant based protein powder (no soy, yay!). The smoothie came to just about $10. It was yummy and hit the spot for the nourishment I was needing for my next hike! I didn't like that the menu on the wall did not include prices. The staff was friendly and helpful and the bathroom was clean. read more

3 stars only to let others be aware of outrageous ricing. first, I had a pizza breakfast bread. it was very tasty but mostly breading with a dollop of cheese, sausage in the middle.... $8. but the shocker was, after working remote there a while, I wanted something sweet. one cookie-$4.80. I declined. sad because the space, vibe, employees all excellent. I travel all over the US and Europe, in a coffee/cafe nearly every morning. this $$ is crazy, even if it was in a big city! read more

Such a nice little mountain coffeehouse. Situated on the side of the road, with plenty of parking, this is a great little stop. The coffee shop itself looks small, but it's quite spacious. It's one part outdoor gear and one pair coffee. Plenty of stuff to browse for your mountain adventure. I got a nitro cold brew, and the staff were incredibly friendly and the coffee was amazing. Full of rich flavor. It seems like they are a serious community space as well offering community events frequently. Love seeing that. read more

What a great addition to the Horse Shoe / Hendersonville area! Cognative Brew House is just what you want in a local coffee shop. Friendly staff, plenty of parking, large inside cafe area to spread out, and a stellar product. So far I've only had a matcha latte but it was excellent! I'll definitely be back! read more

I occasionally drive by this place and, as I'm big into supporting local businesses and love coffee shops (and baked goods!) decided to stop in. The barista was very friendly, always a big win. I got a small chai latte, a cookie, and a cardamom bun. I had cash leftover from a recent vacation and paid with that so I didn't think anything of the total amount because I was focused on my toddler. After we left I realized that the total is EXTREMELY high...for those three items it was $18 and some change!! Am I suddenly in Los Angeles at an organic spot? If, on the high end, the bun was $6 and the cookie was $3, then my tiny chai latte was $9??! Totally nuts. So, that was my review; I'm not a big reviewer unless a place is amazing or awful... or if they charge almost $20 for a small drink and a cookie and a cardamom bun in Hendersonville, NC. But, the saga continues! The chai was awful, like couldn't drink it awful. Have I ever had a chai latte so bad that I couldn't drink it? Nope. And then the cardamom bun was equally awful; it was so bad that I spit it out. I'm not a picky eater, but I also draw the line at eating stuff that tastes horrible. My toddler loved the cookie, but he also tried to eat a dirt covered bbq potato chip he found on the driveway this morning, so he's probably not a great judge (I tried the cookie, and it was fine). Am I in the Twilight Zone? I would have felt better throwing a $20 bill to the wind. The thing about trying new places is you win some, you lose some, and this was a bust man. read more

Was happy to see this place open up and frequently stop in. Always try and support local businesses. After six months of business the newness has worn off. And so has the quality. For the past two days the coffee has been luke warm to down right cold. Yesterday's requested extra hot late was not. Today's drip coffee was worse then a late night truck stop. Acidic and luke warm with a lite hint of burned and I don't care attitude. So moving on... I'm searching again for a warm place with hot coffee and friendly people that want to be there... read more

This neighborhood was in dire need of a coffee /beverage/ hangout place. Cognative does not disappoint! Great coffee, a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, a TERRIFIC lodge-like space to hang out in. Music's good and not too loud. Thrilled to see them doing so well. Oh, and they sell bike clothing too, locally designed and tested. Recommend! read more

Overall I have been pleased with the coffee, and service. Only one complaint, they set up the guest wifi on 5g. They need to enable the backwards compatibility so an earlier model laptop can use it. read more
