I ordered a large coffee, bold and fruity, and it was definitely fruity (almost too much so). And the large....not so large (see picture) and that is not necessarily bad, it was just unexpected. This one did, so I walked over from the restaurant where we were after lunch. This is a very pleasant shop with lots of available seating. It just has a rather modern look, and it was very nice and clean. I came up to talk to a friendly barista. The pour over menu was a bit confusing because there wasn't a lot of information directly on the menu, I asked about one pour over because I had never tried a bean of that origin before. She had good things to say about it, but she said that, if I wanted something fruity or floral to try Haro Wachu from Ethiopia. It was as if she read my mind because I had been wanting to try a natural processed Ethiopian. I'm really glad I took her suggestion! It was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever tried. I didn't taste so much of a note of fruit in it, but I still loved it! I made sure to make a note of what it was in case I have room for more beans at home and want to order it. So, I do wish it was easier to tell what each pour over was in the menu (They have a lot at reasonable prices!). However, I left there thoroughly impressed with the coffee. If you are out on Delmar Loop, they are definitely worth visiting.

Cons: not open on Sunday (which is usually when I'm in the area) & limited seating. I'll definitely be back!

So, I decided to stop by after realizing it's only 4 minutes away from my summer job. My first time there Mark, the owner of Omen, made my drink. It was a brown sugar shaken espresso, that's what I usually get anytime I try new coffee shops. They also told me that they make their sugar in house, which I thought was really cool. I'll eventually try something else but I feel like that's what's been working for me. I've really enjoyed this place because I like how much effort and time they put into making their drinks. I feel as if you can tell by the flavor, they actually care and want you to enjoy what they make. I also like that they host bible studies in their event space upstairs every other Tuesday, in which I didn't know until my first time there! All the employees are incredibly friendly. This place overall, is just so welcoming and warm. I really enjoy my time there. Their merch is also really nice and great quality. It is hands down worth your time! Please give them a try!

The old jail cells turned into seating areas are super cool and give it a vibe you don't really get anywhere else. Coffee was not bad. Not overly experimental, but definitely reliable and enjoyable. I've been to a lot of cafés where the atmosphere outshines the drinks, and this is kind of that situation, but the quality still holds up well enough that you're not just coming here for the aesthetic. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe is relaxed but still lively. It's a great place to work, read, or just hang out for a while. They also allow dogs! Compared to other spots I've been to, Antagonist really wins on character and atmosphere. It doesn't quite reach "destination coffee" level in terms of complexity or standout drinks, but it absolutely delivers a memorable experience. The cafe itself does not have any food other than pastries but it's connected to a board game cafe so if you want to get a quick bite, it's right next door!

There is a one person unisex bathroom. They have an entrance with a few steps or a full ramp to enter. There are plants in the front window, local artists artwork on the wall for sale and a glass case full of goodies. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table when it's ready. On this visit, I ordered a breakfast bowl that had potatoes, eggs, cheese, spinach and tomatoes, with a side of toast. I also ordered a black pepper & rosemary scone, and a cold brew coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious. Besides this establishment having a wonderful and welcoming vibe, the staff is top-tier. They were so incredibly kind, friendly and patient. Absolutely love them!
