This place is so cute! I'm so happy I got to taste their delicious gelato in coffee during a food crawl. My friend and I are lactose intolerant and were happy to find they had vegan options available! The desserts and other drink options look very tempting, and I will definitely return soon!

This isn't just a coffee shop that happens to sell gelato--it's a coffee shop that sells coffee with gelato in it. When I first heard about this place, my curiosity was definitely piqued. I've tried affogato al caffè before (the classic Italian dessert of gelato topped with espresso), but what I saw on their social media looked a little different--iced coffee topped with gelato. I ordered a small Matchalato ($10) made with oat milk, vanilla gelato, and hazelnut swirl, plus a scoop of chocolate gelato ($7) and an Argentine beef empanada ($5). For the empanada, I had the option of corn or wheat, and I went with wheat. It came stuffed with ground beef and onions and I thought it was pretty good. I appreciated that they warmed it up in the air fryer. The chocolate gelato was rich and creamy--solid, though not the best I've ever had. The Matchalato, which is essentially a matcha latte topped with gelato, was the highlight. You can pick any gelato flavor, but I played it safe and got vanilla. The gelato gave this drink a velvety texture and enhanced the matcha flavor by tempering the bitterness of matcha. Maybe next time I'll be more adventurous and try pairing it with something more unusual like their salted caramel chocolate pretzel gelato--something to look forward to. Overall, this place puts a fun twist on coffee and gelato. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for something a little different. Why 4 stars? Because these arepas were different, but enjoyable…read more --- --- --- To-date, I apparently have only had Venezuelan arepas and wasn't aware of how different Colombian arepas were. Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. It was a good afternoon.

This was my first time trying an arepa, and honestly it was one of the best introductions I could…read morehave asked for. Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.

Of course, prices will increase, but for about $3.50 you get a large, flavorful & filling empanada. You eat 3 of these and you'll be good for a few hours! What I also like about this place is that if you're not feeling fried, you can get it baked. My go-to is the (fried or baked - both good) chicken fajitas, pizza, and Cheese steak. Add a little bit of the green sauce to each bite & you're invited to mama's kitchen! Just be prepared for a wait time if you order, since each is made to order! Cash and card are both accepted but with a price difference.

I placed 2 orders: 1st came out in 10 min, but 2nd was seemingly lost/forgotten. Despite checking in periodically, a follow-up with the kitchen didn't happen until my final ask ~40 min later. With such high customer turnover, someone sitting in plain view waiting for ~1hr should ideally stand out. While I was given a quick apology + extra sauces, it didn't quite make up for the significant delay + the lack of follow-through was disappointing. What I Ordered: - Chicken Fajita: good, not a standout - Hawaiian: good, still heavy on the cheese + pineapple - Pork: tender meat, not much different from the chicken - Figs, Caramel + Cheese: unique, but the fruit + caramel combo is too sweet
