Espresso Social Club is such an easily missed spot since it's on a street with not much signage…read more Drive by, and you really will miss it! Walk by, and... you have keen eyes if you catch the sign by the door. Walk in, and you're welcomed by the most inviting woman who's ready to make you one of the best espressos and drinks from scratch. I'm not one to be venture out of a basic iced latte, but I knew I had to go for one of their seasonals when they had black sesame - unfortunately sold out! (Even at 11am... must be popular!) Somehow, some way, I had the privilege of trying their iced oat latte with black sesame foam. There was everything to like about this drink from the perfectly bold espresso - a good balance of nutty but toasty - but also a sesame cream foam. After getting the drinks, there is a quiet space to sit around and lounge about. Have a book or magazine? The couch is perfect. Have work to do? There's small tables in the hallway or even a large table and desk inside the private room. Comfortably enough, the ambiance itself is best described as open arms exclaiming "Welcome Home!" almost like a friend or neighbor is inviting you to their apartment for a cup of coffee. Wi-Fi and outlets are definitely available here. The only thing to bring to reach a flow state is your own set of noise cancelling earbuds. The walls and doors are indeed paper thin, and the traffic from the street does have a way of echoing and rumbling these walls. Other than that, though, my only bittersweet feeling with sharing this glowing review of Espresso Social Club is that finding space to work on future visits might now be a bit more competitive.

Their menu is short but they have availability to mix and match flavors to the type of drink. I can't forget to add in seasonal drinks too. The employee at the counter was very kind and quick, despite having to make four drinks on her own. I got the matcha with honey, vanilla, a splash of condensed milk with oat milk and it was delicious. There were a few couches and chairs to sit the few minutes while my drink was curated. There's even artwork on the wall to view while waiting. Simplicity but quality, that's how I'd describe the ambiance, decor, and drinks. I'd definitely make another trip.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the small nook for reading and ample places to eat and work. The window stations all had outlets and there was even a printer! I ordered the lox bagel with egg and a hot pistachio latte. The latte was unexpected. I read pistachio/raspberry, but didn't expect to taste pieces of pistachio and raspberries. I liked it! Keep this in mind for those of you that don't like texture. Carefully read the description or ask ahead of time. Look at my bagel sandwich. It was so thoughtfully made. It made me excited to eat it and it was pretty tasty too. I prefer my bagels a little more toasted, but that's no fault of theirs. I will definitely come back anytime. I get a chance to taste some of their other drinks and try their oatmeal. What would have made this visit perfect is if they had some background music playing. It was just..different to be in a coffee space just hearing sounds of the fridge, AC, feel shuffling and general operations.. hehe. Great for studying I guess. Parking can be a bit of a hassle. I thankfully found a parking spot in a retail center.

I decided to try something new and went for the Chocolate Forest Matcha... absolutely divine. Rich, earthy, slightly sweet, and so beautifully balanced. What surprised me most is how different the inside feels compared to the outside. From the street, it looks a little gahtto and unassuming, but the moment you step in, it's a completely different world -- cozy, bright, warm, and welcoming. It's the kind of space that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. Damo continues to be one of those rare spots where the drinks are memorable and the atmosphere feels like a little hidden gem.

They seem to always deliver with precision and with warmth and smile even when busy. 6/5 on the ambience. The place is huge and so vibey. They also have an outdoor area in the back (you have to walk to the street / alley way ) which is about a 3 minute walk from the front door.

quality is TEAAA (literally..)…read more There are so many cafes that serve matcha lattes, but as someone who is VERY picky about their matcha blend, I can tell when the cafe uses ceremonial grade matcha. DAMO 100% uses ceremonial grade quality and probably 5-6g of matcha per serving!! I prefer my matcha unsweetened (occasionally having some sweetness added from the syrup/puree/cloud foam a cafe uses) and whatever blend DAMO uses..chef's kiss!! I've been here 4 times, and the quality is consistent each time! Service: quick Parking: lowkey horrible (but that's all of k-town...) Shop design: aesthetic--very minimalistic and pretty. Parking here may be difficult to find on the street, but they do have valet, too. On a Saturday afternoon, this spot is packed and quite hard to find a place to sit. Wi-Fi is available, though note that plugs and seating may be another issue. Not every spot comes with a plug, and it's going to be full, so you may need to wait 15-20 minutes. It is indeed a small spot, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to work, this might not be it. The interior decor, though, is quite clean aesthetically and is relaxing to work in. The Matcha Latte, though, let me say if you're in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, this will keep you energized, even without the sugar! A few sips in and a half cup later, I had so much energy I could probably run a marathon if I had the right shoes (and I don't even like running).
