I would say this ranks as one of the better Starbucks as it's bright and sunny which helps make for a better environment. There are 3 tables to sit for 4+ people in addition to many bar seatings that are comfortable and facing the windows. It is SUPER clean here so that just makes it better than most corporate coffee spots. Drink wise, there was a bit of a mix up by the barista but they fixed it quickly and offered the wrong drink for free to try... much appreciated and I got to try the new seasonal Chestnut Praline Latte. Chestnut Praline Latte - This is the whipped cream confection pretending to be a coffee drink... this is dessert in a cup. It is SWEET. For those who like coffee with their sugar, this would be your drink. It does have a caramel flavour which I think is the praline note. The chesnut is pretty obscured. I will admit that the coffee note came through ... pretty good for a seasonal drink 3.5/5 Chestnut Praline Chai latte - This is my drink order and I will admit that this is an interesting take on the usual chai latte I get from Starbucks. It still has the ginger kick of a chai but with the addition of the chestnut praline syrup which is a caramel note. I would probably ask for only half a pump next time as I dont need it TOO sweet. Pretty good though! 3.5/5 Service here was a tad bit slow as they were filling out the orders for drive through and they only had one guy doing the drinks while they had 3 people working the cashier. Overall, not a bad spot for a quick stop of caffeine.

I've been to Bud's Coffee Bar throughout the years every time I am in the beaches neighbourhood. I've seen them throughout the years where they went from a small shop with a few seats to only having a take out window during the pandemic. Now they have plenty of seating for guests to enjoy their beverages and pastries. Every time at Bud's the service is friendly and the coffee is great. I usually get a cappuccino or a cortado which is always made at a reasonable time. There are plenty of cozy corners for which you can enjoy your caffeine. Moreover, they also sell pastries as well as coffee beans as well. Great neighbourhood coffee shop that has kept me coming back for years every time I'm in the beaches neighbourhood! Definitely check them out if you have the chance.

They serve a nice selection of coffee which tastes delicious. I appreciate the tempting display of baked goods right by checkout but so far my will has remained intact. How long that will hold up against the idea of banana bread is yet to be seen. What keeps me coming back is the service; smiles all around from the friendly staff from order in to order out, they care about delivering a good cup. I especially like the inquiry whether I want chocolate powder or cinnamon for my order before handing me my coffee. I'll be back many a morning, maybe I'll get myself a treat.

Nova Era Bakery O V…read moreE M B E R Nova Era Bakery is the first stop of our November Food Crawl. Nova Era seems to be popping up everywhere in the GTA, which I am not too surprise. On this particular November Sunday this location was packed with people lining up for bread and pastries to go or just want to grab a quick coffee or like us just want to chill a bit where table services were offered. The prices are affordable here as we enjoying our first meal of the day: Cappuccino Med ($2.71) Egg Custard ($1.15) Carioca ($1.52) - which I found out is a weaker version of espresso which is having the hot water running through the ground coffee a second time Services was quite fast... a little indifferent but the place was kind of busy with almost every table being occupied. And aside from getting our Java fix, we even got a chance to pick up a lotto ticket when we were paying at the cash! NEXT!!

We tried the egg & cream cheese and the ham & Swiss, and wow... insanely buttery, perfectly flaky on the outside, and soft on the inside. This was definitely due to everything being made fresh in-house. When we ordered, we caught a glimpse of trays of butter-loaded croissants at the back, ready to go into the oven. My partner straight up said it was the best croissant she's ever had--so that says a lot. Drinks held up too. The strawberry latte was super refreshing, with a tangy syrup that paired really nicely with the espresso. My dirty chai was solid, though I was a bit bummed they didn't have stovetop chai--it just hits different. I liked how they host local artists' works & shows too. It's a very intimate & community driven cafe.
