Despite the rather odd name, this is one of the best places to go for Chinese food. Serving up bowls of piping hot noodle soups, delicious main dishes and Western options, the emphasis here is on quick preparation and huge servings. That may sound like a recipe for something that isn't very tasty, but the fact that the restaurant is constantly packed ought to tell you that assumption is wrong. A friend and I discovered this place a few months ago, and we have been back time and time again. I will tell you that I took my parents and they were not as fond of it as I am; it's probably best suited to the younger crowd. My mum found her noodles to be smothered in too much sauce, which she might be right about, but personally I love a lot of sauce. So, you have been warned. Apart from that I have always been incredibly happy with my meals. I generally switch between the vegetarian egg noodle soup and the chicken chow mein. The noodle soup comes with a hefty serving of vegetables floating above the even heftier portion of noodles. Some of the vegetables are things I've never seen before, although I have decided they are some kind of seaweed. Either way, it is delicious and even though it is enormous, I can't help but force myself to eat every last bite. The chow mein is also great, although I would prefer some more vegetables to be thrown in. I do have to say that the service leaves a little to be desired; while some of the staff are attentive and smiley, others are rude and leave you waiting. My favourite part about this place is the prices - most of the noodle dishes are around $10. Some of the main meals cost a little more and I haven't actually tried any of those, but they do look great. The menu is huge with a thousand subsections. They even serve Western food such as pastas and burgers, although my philosophy in a place that offers a range of cuisines is to stick with the one they are known for, or go somewhere else. If you're craving steak, it's probably best to avoid the place that advertises itself as selling Chinese.

Phone mobile review One of my fave after midnight snack joints just got a facelift. The price is still right. So popular that it gets crowded. No need to spend more than $10.90 on a meal

Delicious! Whenever you are near Sunnybank I would recommend that you stop for a meal or market trip- some many options, always something new to try! Coffee Square was buzzing on a Saturday afternoon so we gave it a shot, great decision. There are literally 1000 different options on the menu so you are bound to find something of interest with this kind of variety. All very affordable and there are great specials on the chalkboards with set meals for a great price. The restaurant name doesn't really match what you would expect but you cant judge a restaurant by its name:)

The service here is the worst in Sunnybank area and the food is not as good as few years ago. Manager have no customer service skill.

poor quality food. extremely slow service. unorganised meal service with some deserts arriving…read morebefore main meals. has to be the worst restaurant in Brisbane city , I would not go there again if I was paid to go, such a frustrating and annoying experience.

Does service even exist here?…read more I usually don't like to give bad reviews, but Pancake Manor definitely needs improvement. I came to Pancake Manor with a friend after needing to satisfy a long craving for some pancakes. The food is generally quite delicious, and the sides go well; however, the service leaves a lot to desire. We sat down and looked at the menu to make our choices. When we decided what we were going to order and the respective sides we wanted we struggled in getting anyone to come over and serve us. It wasn't a busy day, the restaurant only had about a third capacity, we weren't sitting in an ambiguous spot (right across from the main drinks area), nor was there a lack of staff. Staff just couldn't notice us. Staff would walk by and my friend would gesture for service but nothing happened. Eventually, we questioned whether table service existed and my friend then went to the payment counter to place an order. A staff member then came to take our order. The food came out quickly and, with the exception to the garlic bread (which wasn't as crisp as I hoped to to be), was delicious. Unfortunately, that is the only nice thing I can really say. The staff forgot our drinks order and I had to go up to the counter to remind them of our drinks. Furthermore, when we asked for water we were told we needed to get it ourselves (no problem with that). The person who I was with went to the places were glasses were kept to pour water but there was nothing there. We didn't raise anything to the store because we didn't want to make a fuss. Eventually after a good 15 minutes someone managed to notice that glasses were missing/yet to be cleaned and replaced the supply. The next problem was that after filling one glass there wasn't enough water.... After that, we didn't need anymore "service" and the meal was okay. It's a shame that what could have been a lovely meal could easily be spoiled by the poor service. I might visit again, but I won't hold expectations too high for now.
