Improved hurricane!!
Christine H.

Came here on a Sunday night and there was live music! It was so fun and had a great atmosphere. Their drinks are also yummy! I loved the "improved hurricane" it has captain Morgan and they actually use a passion fruit! Loved it. The bartender also gave us a nice display with flames!

We found this place by chance and walked in because it seemed like a cool vibe... and boy were we right! This place has great cocktails, a great menu and great music. The sushi was incredible, the fish was fresh and the rolls were innovative. We had the butterfly effect cocktail which was delicious !!! I can't wait to come back here.

Modern atmosphere and very good music for this place which breaks from the mostly homogeneous offer of trastevere. I haven't tried the Mexican dishes, but rolls very tasty and inventive (although not all combinations are convincing). Mexcal goes surprisingly well with sushi!

The meal was excellent. Our waiter was fantastic. The Mexican and sushi is a unique combination that was awesome. I thought I was in New York City in this restaurant. Great change from the pasta and pizza everywhere else.

The unagi (eel) is cooked soft but with a crisp to the outside and not fishy tasting at all. If you order hot tea they will refill your cup they do not have a tea kettle. To sit down at a table it's about $2 euros per person. Our server Melissa was very kind and friendly. She spoke Italian and her English was also great! Our experience here was what I was hoping to experience everywhere but with a big city like Rome, you'll get a mixed bag. Tuna Sashimi was cut really thick and had a deep color to it. The unagi roll was tasty, best cooked eel I've had ever and I've tried a lot of unagi in my day. ***The udon dish had shrimp and other seafood and was the winning dish at our table!! It's not soup. This dish is served like stir fry style. Delicious! The tonkatsu ramen comes in a smaller portion, with half an egg, one pc dried seaweed, and one pc of chashu pork. (I ordered 2 bowls and I finished both of them very quickly) - side note I'm only 5ft tall at 130lbs and 2bowls here is the size of 1 bowl in America. I could've used a little more flavor in the broth and the egg was a little over cooked on this dish. But still great compared to a lot of the other food we have tried in this area. Will definitely be back!! (Every single time we're in Rome!)

Service was awesome, staff speaks Japanese, English and Italian. After almost a month of traveling around the country, it was a welcome culinary change and the authenticity was a huge bonus. Next time in Rome, we will definitely return.

After reading several reviews on Yelp, we decided to give Rokko a try. The owner was very…read morefriendly. She speaks fluent English, Japanese, and Italian. We went on a Monday evening. It was one of the rare sushi places that was actually open on Monday. It was also quite warm in the restaurant. Admittedly, we were in Rome during a major heat wave, so maybe their A/C just didn't have the power to keep up. As far as the rolls go, they had the typical sushi rolls that you find in most sushi restaurants. It tasted fresh and was pretty good basic sushi rolls. Maybe it's me or maybe my sushi has become to "americanized", but I like places that have specialty rolls. I like the ones that have spicy mayo sauce, or smelt roe, or avocado slices on top, or tuna/salmon on top, or spicy pepper, or etc etc etc. In my opinion, Rokko was simply basic sushi. Don't get me wrong. It was good, just basic. Bottom line - Open on Monday (at least during the summer months). Good but basic sushi. I wanted more variety in the rolls. Personally, if I want sushi the next time I'm in Rome, I may try a different place first simply to see if they have better variety. If you do decide to try Rokko, I think you'll be treated well by the staff. They're friendly. Bon appétit.

So reservation is highly recommended; especially if you want outside seating. We weren't able to make a reservation online but I called in the morning of - and was able to secure a reservation. Score! Between the 4 of us, we ordered a variety of dishes. In particular, their noodles are excellent and better than what I had expected. Excellent ramen and soba noodles!!! Wow... it's true that "any" pasta tastes better in Rome. lol Their sushi is also excellent... we polished off every last piece that we ordered. Excellent and friendly service, and seating is comfy and very clean. Outside seating is alway preferred especially during the warmer weather; but their inside seating is very comfy and nice too. Excellent dining experience.

We came for lunch and dinner because there are limited asian cuisine options. The restaurant was empty both times, but staff were very rude. While talking to them, you can tell how impatient they were by the amount of times they rolled their eyes - even just for asking for water. Being the only asian group present amongst other parties, they seemed to be only rude to us. Felt highly discriminated and disappointed in the customer service. Food was good but not worth putting up with the attitude and disrespectful service. Will not be coming back again.
