Upon arrival we joined the long, snaking line of people waiting for their morning caffeine fix. Fast and friendly service kept the line moving briskly. The coffee itself was very weak and flavorless. Luckily, they have a lovely rotating selection of fine teas and I enjoyed a tasty variant of Russian Caravan. Their baked goods are pretty average - nothing special or unique. Sometimes they have a day-old type consistency that's a bit of a turn off. The interior is cute, but very typical for what you'd expect for an independent coffee house. My friends and I all Love the Coffee O. One of the few local places where you can actually buy good bulk coffee. The local supermarkets sell flavored ground beans in bags, but here at the CO you can buy a whole beans from different regions of the world. The coffee is good here, the mexican mocha latte in particular. the service has always been quick and pleasant. The music is usually good, i think the employees just play their ipods, the music does seem to fit whomever is working. They have a selection of baked goods, I have only had the chocolate muffin and the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. Nothing ecstatic about either but just being good is good enough. Comfy chairs and natural light also are a plus, Ample parking across the street. Just one of those places Cape Cod is lucky to have. read more

If you visit Falmouth and like coffee, you must stop by Coffee Obsession. I totally felt at home with a cup of coffee, reading Moby Dick. So appropriate! We stumbled upon this out of dire necessity for caffeine. We ordered the Mexican Latte, the Royal Latte, and the Mochaccino. The coffee was SO GOOD that we actually had to pass around our coffees to each other to try (and who does that with drinks, let alone coffee?? That should tell you how great it was!). The coffees fine, the pastries can be very good and the place is kind of funky. The crowd can be a bit pretentious, but there's a good mix of retirees, blue collar and private school kids. The staff, not unpleasant but what you'd expect for an independent house, they know that we know they went to some liberal arts college and this is better than not paying a school loan. What coffee obsession has to offer is a really low key, liberal and laid back atmosphere relative to the vibe I found apparent in the rest of Falmouth. The staff was really friendly (they actually seemed happy to be there...here), the seating and lighting decent (some dark spots, some natural light, etc.), and the prices quite reasonable. And the coffee was surprisingly good! They have some newspapers, and free wifi also. If you're sick to death of S***bucks you will really like this place. read more

I want to love CO. Another reviewer pointed out my biggest problem with this place. It feels dirty. The floor always feels and sounds like it needs to be swept. The coffee is good, the pastries are good (the White Lion GF muffins are overpriced and taste like wet hockey pucks, but that's not CO's fault), some baristas are friendly, some are cold and snotty. And the place feels cluttered and dirty. The space has so much potential with its beautiful windows. I just wish they would take better care of it and invest in regular cleaning and getting rid of all the junk. I stopped going here a while ago. read more

The drawbacks: the seats aren't all that comfy and they close super early (6pm). But I guess all of Falmouth is like that. Probably the place you wanna go for a cup a joe if your in downtown Fal town. Specialty drinks (like the Mexican Mocha) are pricey but on par with anywhere else, and to die for! Definitely gets pretty crowded at times (especially when the yuppy Falmouth Academy lets out..) but only because this place rocks. What a coffee house should be. This is a solid deal for an independent coffee house. I got a mini quiche and a specialty coffee and was MUCH happier with the price and flavor than if I had stopped at Dunkin's down the road. Patrons seem to be regulars and, unlike the stereo-typical Yankee, don't seem too averse when you pull up a chair at one of the community tables to sip your joe while perusing a book. I wish there was more seating, but they probably keep it that size to survive during the off season. As for the cleanliness comments, I'm not sure what was going on during August, but when I visited this month there was nothing to complain about. The floors are unfinished wood and the interior of the building is reminiscent of an old cottage, post and beam. Perhaps the others who preferred Starbucks were used to contemporary design? Regardless, if you're looking for real people serving real coffee at a real value, come on by. I know I'll be back! read more

This place seems like it would be a nice cozy place to read a book or study in the fall and winter. The interior design is unique and endearing. Their coffee is not cheap, but it is what I expect for a latte (around 4 to 5 dollars). Cool people (including many of my past friends and acquaintances) work and/or hang out here. Music is almost always good. Atmosphere is great, with super-comfy couches and interesting artwork that you can buy if you're rich. Tons of coffees, espresso drinks, and teas. Hot or iced. I recommend the Mexican Mocha. He searched forever and found me the muffin with the most blueberries...I found this rather insulting as it insinuated that I was unhealthy and therefore required extra blueberries. Ridiculous!
