Sandwiches witch it's was suprised me absolutely delicious then I ordered another grilled chicken panini with ciabatta bread to go . I have to say it was very very delicious if you like pesto . It reminds me the sandwiches "i'tosto" in Florence Italy .i definitely will come back when I'm in town . But coffee could be better . I'm not really care about the coffee . Stumbled on this little treasure after a massage around the corner. What a find!!! Korean coffee shop with lovely teas I want to try, and so many food options from bibimbap to grilled cheese. Must be close to a school, was here on a Friday at noon and seems to be a lunch spot. But also mixed in the crowd were families and people working. Just a lovely neighborhood spot where everyone's comfy. Highly recommend! read more

My wife asked to have lunch here before she took me to Middle C, which makes me think I should listen to her a lot more! I need to stop forgetting that this place is down the street from my office because it is such a gem! I've yet to order a coffee or tea beverage that wasn't absolutely perfect. What a lovely spot! I wish I lived nearby so I could frequent this delightful shop more often. It's got a TON of choices for breakfast (sandwiches with fresh veggies and eggs to plated omelettes with bacon and cheese), lots of lunch options, many with a Korean spin. The coffee is abundant and delicious; I had an iced coffee. It was so smooth and had a great mocha-java profile. The breakfast sandwich was great: provolone, spinach, tomato, and egg on dry sourdough toast. Really yummy and filling. The place is cozy and has nice art work. Quit a few tables as well as outdoor seating. Street parking was pretty easy at 845 am. The service was unbeatable: the young girl who waited on me was pure sunshine, taking notice I was new, explained the menu, and was just very sweet and friendly. I ventured up to Tenleytown to visit some friends at AU and we trudged through the snow to find this quaint café a few blocks from the metro. As we walked in, we were welcomed by a music performance by a young woman singing while playing the guitar and harmonica. Despite the lack of space, we were able to find a couple chairs and tables for our group of three next to the musician and front window. We ordered some sandwiches and lattes- I personally was eager to see the latte art for my nutella latte. The latte itself was on point- it had a nutty after taste, remnants of nutella at the bottom of the cup and an adorable latte art design of a cat. One of my friends ordered a regular latte and got a snowman design on her latte. Given that it is rare to find cafés that provide latte art for their drinks, we were all pleasantly surprised and impressed with our coffee. The sandwiches were pretty average, but there were a lot of food items to choose from, including korean cuisine. I omitted a star due to the lack of space to move around or ability to find a place to sit, slight disorganization when it comes to ordering and the service was not one of the more positive experiences I've had at a coffee shop. Overall though, I would come here again to try other drinks and food they have to offer. read more

This place is inexplicably expensive, and the service is spotty. If there were alternatives in the area, I don't think I'd come back. Alas, it's this or the chain places for grab-and-go coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The iced coffee is just OK - it's no cold brew masterpiece like you'll find at Dolcezza -- but it's about the most expensive stuff you'll find in this city. The breakfast sandwiches are made-to-order and pretty delicious, but the better ones with meat and veggies thrown in will cost you $7.99. Put it all together, and your grab-and-go breakfast just cost you $12. I grit my teeth and bear these prices about once a week, but I've noticed recently that they are messing up my order. I always, always order the breakfast power sandwich, but I get something different every time. It's supposed to be loaded with several kinds of veggies, meat, and cheese. Once it had only egg and cheese. The next time it was sausage, egg, and cheese. I'm not sure what's getting lost in translation, but I shouldn't have to worry about opening up my bag before I head out the door. read more

Been here four times now wanting to support independent businesses. We like the coffee and like the espresso a lot, even though it is the most expensive in the area. But that cannot overcome the unbelievable impersonal, downright rudeness of the one female cashier, the indifference of the owner, and the fact that the bathroom has always been dirty at each visit. While the owner sits at a back table surfing the Internet, the vacant tables have crumbs and empty drink cups on them. No one seems to be particularly interested in our business or, providing even a modicum of decent customer service. Sorry, we're done here. read more

A great small coffee shop, good at what it does...which is to be small and quaint. I have used Coffee Nature often as a study spot (I'm a graduate student) and with good coffee and small seating area, which prevents the noise from getting too loud, I highly recommend it as a place to get away and do some reading. I love this cafe. I live in the neighborhood and work from home, so I spend a lot of time at this place drinking coffee and working on the free wireless. They've got great coffee and really great service. I loved this cafe when it used to be Conie's so I was really sad to see Conie and her sister go when they sold it last month. I'm not a big coffee drinker but found this to be a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat. It's tucked off on a relatively quite side street. Being the quintessential neighborhood coffee shop you can grab your laptop and enjoy the free wifi while sipping on your favorite hot drink. The owners are very nice as well as the patrons. OMG!!! Apparently DCers do not even know what constitutes a gawdawful cup of coffee. Everything we got here was worse than crap. First, my wife and I ordered a coffee beverage each and she a croissant. Our bill was $25. We were charged for four beverages that had none of what we ordered. The cashier had to go to the owner and had to wait. He had to take care of the refund and then she took our order. The croissant was stale so I returned it and had to wait for the owner to do the refund. Finally when coffees were ready for us; they neither matched our order or what we originally were charged for. So again we had to wait. When our order came they did indeed look beautiful. But they were room temp and tasted like coffee that had been on a warmer for several days. So I went in to return them and asked for a refund. We had to wait and the owner was all 'whatever' with his attitude. Please, Washingtonians, learn what a good latte and cappuccino really taste like. There are a handful of decent coffee shops in town (hint: not that overly strong burnt crap from Starbucks). read more

I went here for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. I'd driven past the place before, and was curious about it, but had never been in. I was so surprised to see the variety of things on their menu, including a bulgogi omelet! I got a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich and it was great. I also got the Nutella latte, which was like heaven in a cup. It even came with pretty foam art on top. The staff are very friendly, there's nice outdoor seating, and there's free WiFi. Such a pleasant little coffeeshop. Chicken panini was tasty on great bread. They have a nice selection of sodas and juices, and an extensive coffee menu. I sat by the window working on my laptop and the owner sent over a free sample of frozen yogurt. I was too full to get the full serving, but I totally would've. Their cali tart is much closer to what real tart frozen yogurt should taste like than a lot of the other establishments in DC specializing in froyo. The place smells delicious, the proprietors are super friendly, and it's a great place to grab a bite to eat and do whatever you prefer to do in a cafe. While I was there, several people floated in and chatted with the owner for quite a while. This place definitely has a neighborly feel. Not having tried their coffee yet, I can't really give them a 5, but Coffee Nature is a real gem. read more

Coffee Nature consistently makes espresso drinks that have a lot of depth and strength (as opposed to super milky coffee you'll find elsewhere locally). The food here is also really good; the Commuter Croissant is a must try. Bonus: the owner Joseph is really friendly and knows his stuff when it comes to coffee. We love this place! We call it "Mouse Café" because the very first time we came and sat at the front window, outside in the planter was the cutest little mouse! Anyway, the coffee IS very good and the specialty lattes and such are well down with *great* art. The food is REALLY GOOD, amazingly good! How do they do that? Yeah, like some other reviews a little overpriced but yummy; never been disappointed. They play wonderful JAZZ always. Why no 5-Star? Well, it is a bit funky, not spot on A+ clean and the owner is 65% down (engulfed in his laptop), 35% up and smiling. Although we are regulars, sometimes he ignores us, other times smiles and friendly. Very strange. Nevertheless for an off-the-map coffee experience, worth at least trying out. Coffee nature is a great cafe experience. I come here at least twice a week! They have great bagels for breakfast, and my personal fav is the chicken panini for lunch. It has sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and provolone cheese! So good! Besides the food, their coffee is great quality. I love the caffe mocha (dark chocolate)! Also, they have tons of different pour over coffee blends that are so flavorful and fresh. My favorite is the John Brown blend. It has undertones of sweet pipe tobacco and dark chocolate. So unique! You have to try it!!!!!! If you're looking for a quiet coffee shop to study and have a great lunch, this is definitely your place. And Saturdays are open mic! read more

I've given coffee nature two tries so far and have been disappointed. My first visit I ordered a medium cappuccino, I got a latte. There was a nice heart drawn on top but your shouldn't be able to do coffee art on a cappuccino, also it tasted as though the milk had been used too many times. I managed s coffee shop for 4 years and have made thousands of cappuccinos so I know what one is supposed to taste like. I decided to give them another chance since my office is moving into the neighborhood, I went in this morning and ordered a large cappuccino and was offered a drip coffee instead apparently the espresso machine was down. So I asked what coffee they were serving " regular coffee " he said. Someone at Starbucks might not know the origin of the coffee being served but an independent usually has more coffee knowledge. What makes a coffee shop a favorite? At the end of the day, it's the personal touch. I stopped by once and it was so busy I ended up leaving. The owner--who was clear at the other end of the place when I entered and quickly exited--reached out to me later, apologized and offered a drink on the house.
