I'm only in town a couple times a year and I don't always make it to the downtown area. During our most recent visit, we stayed at an Airbnb nearby and I finally got to visit Shift (YAY!)... What a great local coffee shop! The inside is cute & minimal and I loved the mural spanning the space. The staff was super friendly as we perused the menu, and my decision was easy once I saw that they have a seasonal fall menu featuring house made syrups. The carrot cake one immediately caught my eye, and I ordered a carrot cake latte. My husband got the classic pumpkin spice and yep, it was like drinking fall in a cup. It's so cool to see a gem like this reppin' the hometown. Also cool that they brew Bandit Coffee (out of St. Pete) which we are big fans of. I did not want to be seen anywhere near a Matcha place so had my dark glasses on, a cap and stayed close to the entrance. Being family-owned does not excuse poor service or dismissing a paying customer's concerns. My frustration was about the experience, not the fact that it's a small business.
