Taylor's is a wonderful addition to the village. We popped in before a photo shoot we had scheduled to grab something warm while this Texas girl battled the frigid freezing temps. (Okay it was in the 30's this day but COME ON THIS IS COLD.) I enjoyed the large selection of drinks, but I opted for a hot chocolate. I know the shop is small- an indoor seating area would have been so nice on this very cold day. The employees weren't overly chatty, in fact I'm not sure they said much to us. I asked a couple of questions about their sugar free flavor options and they were answered. I don't expect to make my next best friend while ordering coffee but a little warmth goes a long way. Our photographer had scoped out the dome behind the shop and mentioned that those usually have a heater in them. We wandered back there and it was a super cute set up with blankets and pillows. The heater was there but I couldn't figure out how to get it on. The dome did help with the wind. Lovely coffee shop- glad Waynesville has one!

It was cozy and charming, with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. I got the Pumpkin Chai Latte which was delicious! It was spiced and sweet, with a great ratio of milk to chai. To eat, I had the Gouda & Apple Panini. It was also super yummy! The bread was toasted wonderfully and was filled with tender apples, gooey Gouda, and a tangy maple mustard. The dressed greens were fresh, and I loved the dressing. It was a tangy vinaigrette that was light, but still super flavorful. We had such a wonderful experience at Sun Sprouts and I highly recommend stopping by! There is a small parking lot out front and other parking options nearby too.

And healthy doesn't mean sacrificing taste. The ladies here know how to put together delicious healthy food without adding unnecessary ingredients. I wish every restaurant would do this. they also have quick grab snacks and healthy smoothies! On the counter was home made items as well and honey! Anyhoo, our group of four all got bowls. Three got the Thai bowl with peanut sauce and I got the Fiesta Bowl with a lime vinaigrette dressing. To add protein, chicken, was an extra $4.00. (this place isn't cheap so make sure you realize that going in. I'll include menu.) The total for two salads and nothing else, because we had water, was $40.00. I said this better be good for that price. Lol (Honestly I grappled with the stars. This is what kept it from getting 5 stars. But just know stars are very subjective and some people wouldn't bat an eye at that price. It's just my opinion and worth a penny lol) Let me tell you though, it was DELICIOUS. I was worried and frankly shocked about my hubby's choice because in the past when talking about peanut sauces he always said he didn't like them. (I've come to learn that just meant he never tried it because it sounded terrible to him.) I honestly think he didn't read that part when ordering hahaha. I didn't say a word, I just watched and waited for his reaction. Verdict? He loved it! I tasted the peanut sauce and it was very delicious, full of umami! Tasted slightly of soy sauce and maybe a little sesame And of course peanut. I may have to get that next time. Mine was absolutely delicious as well bursting with fresh lime flavored vinaigrette. And the salads have a small layer of rice which was so good I said I need to make this at home. Yes, it was that good that I would go again. It's not like I buy a $20 salad every day. It's a treat on the trail with friends. And in a world with so many hidden ingredients in our food, this was a very pleasant surprise. Oh! And how cute was it that they had a jar outside making sun tea! Also outside seating is available as well with beautiful country surroundings. Stop in and check it out, it's in Corwin Ohio along the Little Miami Trail. Just an FYi, the bathrooms are clean and use the good toilet paper. Not that paper thin cardboard most have. Patrons only though! Buy something and your tush is in!

I've been following Historic BBQ on Yelp for a couple years and there's not been a 2nd review in six years? I followed Historic on Instagram in hopes they'd announce a day/time/place for me to come chat and brisket. I was a bit hesitant as his web page states that they are official bbq competitors and honestly, I'm not here for the show, I'm here for the flavor and texture. Finally got to talk to Tony(and his dad!) and as I'd expected, they are super friendly and we could talk about bbq for hours. Service was immediate and pickup took maybe two minutes even with me and all my questions. Tony and his dad were incredibly informative in the process and you can see how much they love to make people happy with their bbq. The trailer was parked right off Main St at a local beer house called the Common Beer Company. They mentioned they will be here on the 4th Sunday of every month so I know when and where I can find them. The brisket was absolutely delicious. That day we are brisket for dinner. Last night we used leftovers to make brisket/cheese quesadillas and again. Delicious. The meat is perfectly cooked; faultless bark, juicy and very flavorful. They mentioned as I walked up at around 2p and they had just sold their last few bones of the ribs so plan accordingly. I'll be back, I love supporting a local family.
