Cappuccino

I'd been meaning to visit Coffee Fix for ages after seeing it appear on Manchester Confidential's Food Awards shortlist for best coffee shop the last couple of years but for some reason never got round to it. That was until a wet and miserable January afternoon meant our planned walk was called off and cabin fever meant we still wanted to get out of the house for an hour or two. Not having been before we soon spotted Coffee Fix sitting at the end of Gatley high street with it's bright red exterior and twinkling lights giving it a warm and welcoming look. Inside it is simple yet cosy and there's a real attention to detail with the decor. More importantly, as soon as we walked in not only were we greeted by friendly staff but there was the most beautiful aroma of good quality fresh coffee, just how it should be if you're going to name yourself after this fine beverage. I ordered a cappuccino and my husband had a flat white, both of which were made to perfection and tasted delicious. Hubby also had a gluten free chocolate brownie and declared it to be the best he'd ever had- high praise indeed! As well as the various sweet treats on offer there is also a very reasonably priced breakfast menu plus sandwiches and a few daily changing specials which sounded tasty, so plenty to tempt us back again. Super friendly staff and coffees tasting just how coffee should taste means that Coffee Fix gets full marks from me. Looking forward to a return visit soon!

I pretty much live here. Coffefix is a great place to hang out, have an informal business meeting or go for brunch. They have the best coffee I've ever tasted, lovingly prepared with real flair. Espresso and filter win for me. Great range of food- my favourites are homemade beans on toast and the blt sarnie. It's transformed Gatley in my opinion and brought the younger and heading for middle age crowd out of the woodwork. Made some good friends here. Also family friendly with toys and a small kids menu selection

I called in Coffee Fix again after the great manager sorted out a free coffee and cake with me for my dissapointing experience in January. The manager was really nice and apologetic about my experience, unlike some managers who would of probably put me on a "Do not serve list" for writing a bad review. When I arrived, he greated me once again very kindly and gave me a large vanilla latte and a GF Brownie, he explained everything to me and even put a full cream egg on top, the brownie was actually very big, it was quite rich and with it's size it was hard to finish but still the brownie was quite nice, especially for gluten free and I am not a massive fan of chocolate either. My past coffee was actually quite poor but this one was actually quite nice, you could hear him making the coffee nice and fresh and it just tasted nice and fresh, it was a good tempreature and my vanilla latte was very enjoyable. If I consider a few good things about my past visit as well, with the toastie actually tasting good quality as well, I feel Coffee Fix deserves a big rating increase, one of the biggest I have gave, for the main reasons Previously I couldn't understand why people wrote so many good reviews for this place, but now I actually do! - The manager was fantastic and really wanted to make ammends and was fantastic, he wasn't bitter about my bad review and really was passionate and explained the dishes. - The coffee was good quality - Portion sizes of coffee and brownie were fantastic - He even gave my friend a free coffee, which I really didn't expect as well as giving me a large coffee and cake. Another nice gesture.g Thankyou Coffee Fix for sorting this out for me and hopefully I can come here more times in the future! UPDATE: Sadly a bad experience today results in a downgrade for Coffee Fix to four stars, to one star which is even below the average rating I gave them back in 2015. I found the selection to be quite restrictive, especially due to the fact they had run out of all: sausages, eggs and earl grey tea on my recent visit, it became frustrating as it seemed most of the menu, which I wanted to order was all out of stock. The overall atmosphere of this place was also ruined as they basically let a dog run wild around the store, it appeared to be running up to tables etc which really wasn't nice when I was eating to see it walking around, sniffing my chair and barking, another problem was with a customer (child) who was constantly banging on the table and screaming, I admit this can't be helped but the staff could have issued a warning to the customer, so it is more considerate on the rest of the customers. My gluten free welsh rarebit was okay, it wasn't of the best quality but mainly down to the reasons discussed, mainly down to the poor stock of menu items and service, I sadly feel this place now deserves a single one star, the staff even struggled to tell me whether I could park outside or not without getting a ticket, which was disgraceful in my opinion.

I am a big fan of Coffee Fix; they're always friendly and welcoming and they always remember people! Which I think is a really wonderful trait. Their menu is quite diverse, so I would say there is something for everyone! I have a few specific dietary requirements and after I spoke to Katherine one of their cooks she completely understood and accommodated for me, and remembered every time I went in! So I never had to ask again! I would recommend there homemade beans and cheese on the olive bread - it's delicious! They're also dog friendly; which is fab for me, as I am a dog owner. However, if you don't like dogs this is something to bare in mind. They would be my ultimate suggestion in Gatley for coffee & lunch.

I am a bit of a coffee snob and can appreciate well kept and prepared coffee whether it be as a filter, espresso or milk based. Coffee Fix is a great little café in Gatley serving hot and cold drinks as well as various food items. The breakfasts are brilliant and there home made beans are delicious. I personally haven't tried the sandwiches but they do look lovely. The coffee. Well as soon as you walk into coffee fix you get a feeling of pride from the people who work there. The bloke behind the counter is very helpful and gives you a nice insight into what coffee they have available and what brew method would suit it. I have tried the espresso and latte here and they have always been excellent - even the latte has some nice latte art on it. The espresso is served with a glass of iced water which is a nice touch and how it should be. Last time I was in they were serving North Star coffee (a small roaster in Leeds) which was excellent. I even bought a bag to take home to grind for my morning espressos. Would definitely recommend visiting if you are nearby - I even travelled over from Bolton it is that good!

It's my all time favourite place for good wholesome food... and coffee that's spoilt me for going anywhere else! Great friendly atmosphere and free WiFi too :)

Like nearby Mackie Mayor and Altrincham Market, it's an old building which has been beautifully restored. If you've visited either of those sites then you know what to expect - a variety of food and drink vendors around the sides and seating in the middle. Grab a table, note the number and then go order your food. You pay when you order and then someone will bring the food to your table when it's ready. There's a great variety of foods here - pizza, pasta, Indian and Thai when we went - and we had an absolutely amazing Indian themed fried chicken burger topped with an onion bhaji. Absolutely delicious. There's beer and wine available too, plus a tea and coffee stand. I have it on good authority though that some of the beers here are pricier than you'd find in other nearby bars. But that's a minor grumble. For the setting, the food and the atmosphere, the Produce Hall is definitely worth a visit.

The drive to the restaurant was lovely and scenic, going down dark and winding country roads until suddenly we drive around a corner and The Devonshire Arms appeared! We'd got there a little early and we sat down by the bar for some drinks. The menu was displayed on a chalkboard by the seating area and it all looked yummy! The dining area was quite small but very nice and cosy. The kitchen was open and you could see the chefs chopping and cooking away which I quite liked. I chose the rabbit and pheasant terrine with grape chutney as my starter; it came with onion bread and the slice of terrine was huge! I really wanted to finish it, but I couldn't as there was no way I'd be have enough room for my main! For the main, I had venison steak served with new potatoes (usually served with mash which I couldn't have as it had milk/cream in it) and braised red cabbage. The steak was pink and cooked to perfection and the red cabbage was sweet but with a little tart edge to it. I didn't have a dessert but the rest of the party did - my boyfriend had a deconstructed banana cheesecake and his sister had a brownie (I overheard her saying it was the best brownie she'd ever tasted!). All of the staff were really nice, especially the lady who served us that night, she was really lovely and very attentive. The Devonshire Arms fully deserves it's awards and hope it gets more in the future. If you're ever around the Sheffield area and want to venture out of the city centre for some food make sure you come here. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect meal.

A fact that made me go there was the following - The interior of the pub today is included in the CAMRA National Inventory, a list compiled by the lobbying group of the only remaining 250 pub interiors (out of over 60,000) in Great Britain that remain of outstanding heritage interest!! The 1908 bar from is still in place, and is definitely unlike I have ever seen, it is a floor to ceiling carved wooded masterpiece! there is beautiful original tiling too .. and a lovely little snug to get cosy in! as you would expect with this calibre of bar, you can order from an array of beers! The beer is supplied by the famous independent Stockport Brewery, Robinsons, you will also find seasonal brews! The food is good too, on my visit I had 6oz Rump Steak & Caramelised Red Onions, Mustard Mayonnaise ciabatta for only £6.50 !! the menu is quite varied, but they stick to the best of British pub grub... nothing too fancy or trying too hard, just very good honest food!

Get out of my head, Mr Amazing Pi Dude! Pieminister pies are always good, but the way they're served can have a certain level of influence. These were done brilliantly... minted mushy peas, vegetarian gravy, the pies perfectly halved and warmed, buttery delicious mash, and it didn't take long to arrive either. Pi gets it right on all of the above and was one of the nicest spots I've hit while in Chorlton. Situated just opposite from Unicorn, the bar is kind of like sitting in a shop with high risen full fronted windows and probably wouldn't sit more than 40 people throughout. For us it was perfect as there was a group of 8 who could easily take a load off on a Friday night and chat with the music not too loud and at 11pm'ish - not too busy as well. They have exciting and interesting beer menu's on each table with the usual suspects from Belgium, the U.S craft beer revolution and local and UK ales on the pumps towards the back. The staff were friendly and fitted in perfectly with this being a kind of place you might pop out of your house for one before heading home to get on with family life.
