I snack on pork belly and wontons, while we downed quite a few beers, but had excellent service, great atmosphere, a great place to come and eat and walking in old town. Highly recommend.!!!

Like nearby Mackie Mayor and Altrincham Market, it's an old building which has been beautifully restored. If you've visited either of those sites then you know what to expect - a variety of food and drink vendors around the sides and seating in the middle. Grab a table, note the number and then go order your food. You pay when you order and then someone will bring the food to your table when it's ready. There's a great variety of foods here - pizza, pasta, Indian and Thai when we went - and we had an absolutely amazing Indian themed fried chicken burger topped with an onion bhaji. Absolutely delicious. There's beer and wine available too, plus a tea and coffee stand. I have it on good authority though that some of the beers here are pricier than you'd find in other nearby bars. But that's a minor grumble. For the setting, the food and the atmosphere, the Produce Hall is definitely worth a visit.

I came to eat here last week with my boyfriend and his family. I was especially looking forward to…read morecoming here as it had won Restaurant of the Year 2011 by Eat Sheffield! The drive to the restaurant was lovely and scenic, going down dark and winding country roads until suddenly we drive around a corner and The Devonshire Arms appeared! We'd got there a little early and we sat down by the bar for some drinks. The menu was displayed on a chalkboard by the seating area and it all looked yummy! The dining area was quite small but very nice and cosy. The kitchen was open and you could see the chefs chopping and cooking away which I quite liked. I chose the rabbit and pheasant terrine with grape chutney as my starter; it came with onion bread and the slice of terrine was huge! I really wanted to finish it, but I couldn't as there was no way I'd be have enough room for my main! For the main, I had venison steak served with new potatoes (usually served with mash which I couldn't have as it had milk/cream in it) and braised red cabbage. The steak was pink and cooked to perfection and the red cabbage was sweet but with a little tart edge to it. I didn't have a dessert but the rest of the party did - my boyfriend had a deconstructed banana cheesecake and his sister had a brownie (I overheard her saying it was the best brownie she'd ever tasted!). All of the staff were really nice, especially the lady who served us that night, she was really lovely and very attentive. The Devonshire Arms fully deserves it's awards and hope it gets more in the future. If you're ever around the Sheffield area and want to venture out of the city centre for some food make sure you come here. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect meal.

This Pub is steeped in history, and if you are into your very British pub experience where a direct…read morelink to the past can be seen around you as you sup your ale, then should make a visit to the Arden Arms! A fact that made me go there was the following - The interior of the pub today is included in the CAMRA National Inventory, a list compiled by the lobbying group of the only remaining 250 pub interiors (out of over 60,000) in Great Britain that remain of outstanding heritage interest!! The 1908 bar from is still in place, and is definitely unlike I have ever seen, it is a floor to ceiling carved wooded masterpiece! there is beautiful original tiling too .. and a lovely little snug to get cosy in! as you would expect with this calibre of bar, you can order from an array of beers! The beer is supplied by the famous independent Stockport Brewery, Robinsons, you will also find seasonal brews! The food is good too, on my visit I had 6oz Rump Steak & Caramelised Red Onions, Mustard Mayonnaise ciabatta for only £6.50 !! the menu is quite varied, but they stick to the best of British pub grub... nothing too fancy or trying too hard, just very good honest food!

I love the posters on the walls and the fact they still have a snug. The outside area is excellent with heaters and decking. They also have live music there every Saturday night during the Summer which is free. The food is excellent quality pub grub. Everything is home made. Their cheese and onion pie is fantastic. The pastry is so good and the filling delicious. I also recommend the home made sponge puddings they do with homemade custard. Well worth a visit during lunch time. The owners are also super friendly as well.

Basically we wanted to try…read morethe two veggie options, the Heidi and the Wild Mushroom, and as soon as I used the word share our lovely bartender said, 'I can half each pie so you get two different halves on each plate if you like.' Just before I nearly leaned over and hugged him, I said, 'We were wondering if we could get one portion of - ' 'I can do you a half portion of mash and peas on each plate and a pot of gravy if you're sharing.' Get out of my head, Mr Amazing Pi Dude! Pieminister pies are always good, but the way they're served can have a certain level of influence. These were done brilliantly... minted mushy peas, vegetarian gravy, the pies perfectly halved and warmed, buttery delicious mash, and it didn't take long to arrive either. When one's got the swimming pool/caffeine tremors and it's cold outside only a pie will do, and this is now my favourite place to come for my fix. Plus, all four flavours of Timmermans? On the same menu as Delirium? Reasonable prices? Are you trying to *kill* me?

Pi gets it right on all of the above and was one of the nicest spots I've hit while in Chorlton. Situated just opposite from Unicorn, the bar is kind of like sitting in a shop with high risen full fronted windows and probably wouldn't sit more than 40 people throughout. For us it was perfect as there was a group of 8 who could easily take a load off on a Friday night and chat with the music not too loud and at 11pm'ish - not too busy as well. They have exciting and interesting beer menu's on each table with the usual suspects from Belgium, the U.S craft beer revolution and local and UK ales on the pumps towards the back. The staff were friendly and fitted in perfectly with this being a kind of place you might pop out of your house for one before heading home to get on with family life. I love these neighbourhood places, I could just do with living nearby to do this... Due to eating at the nearby Tibetan Kitchen, I didn't get the chance to try their pies but they're all from the excellent pieminister so I'd highly recommend getting one if you're in there through the day!

The wait staff was very pleasant and friendly. We particular liked their leather aprons. They have a lovely outdoor seating area too. On this occasion (I suspect we will return) we ordered from their lunch special menu which is $14.50 for one option from the starters and one from the mains. However, you also have the option to order a la carte (separate menu). Food and drinks were nice. We will definitely come back as there were some things on the menu I would like to try, like the Rabbit Gnocchi and Artichoke & Truffle Ravioli

So often it's both, but with Albert's the decor complements some visits there, and others not so much. Is that as confusing as it looks to me right now? Let's clarify... Hands down, awesome food. Like, seriously. Full marks. We came here with parents on a Thursday night (the new Friday as all you cool cats know) and sat down to some delicious wine, a smattering of tomato bruschetta with a criminal amount of garlic (thank the lord I didn't have to speak to anyone on a professional level the next day) and some hearty yet classy dishes. The boys wanted steak, and steak they got. As my friend's dad always says, if the steak's cooked properly, you don't need a steak knife, and these melted away like butter. The seafood menu was like a pick n' mix of fruits de la mer, and this is what the female contingent of the party opted for. My friend's mum went for the fillet of seabass served with a choice of vegetables, and I asked about the fish stew and the Thai monkfish curry. The kind waitress recommended the stew and I was so glad she did. Mussels in their shells, chunks of potato, a tomato sauce and huge hunks of fish had me almost too full to the brim for pudding, where we all decided we'd fight over a single pannetone bread and butter pudding. Rich, fruity and dense, the podded vanilla custard was the perfect partner. After reading Bex T's review I must concur wholeheartedly - Albert's is sleek and chic. The uber-modern clean blue lines would indeed feel at odds with a cosy Sunday roast dinner, although I do hear their roasts are legendary. It shan't put me off, I'll be back to try it. I'll just be sure to don my Sunday best when I do!
