Chicken curry. Delicious and very filling!

Another one of my regular spots, I've known Jerry for a few years now and always a pleasure to see him. He asks how you've been and has a bit of a chat. Such a friendly environment and you can tell that when almost every second customer is greeted by name. Not quite your polished hipster looking place, it's very laid back, dark wood and a few quirky lights. They have some really nice food, mostly your standard cafe stuff but done really well. Lots of rolls, bagels and wraps during the week as well as the sit down menu. Coffee rotates through roasters, usually Small Batch, Code Black, Market Lane, Proud Mary. Sometimes he has a single from interstate. Tea is Somage Or Storm in a teacup. They also have a small selection of beer and wine ;-) The only issue I have is the coffee is a bit inconsistent. Some days its amazing, some days it ok, but that's fine.

    Waiters Salad. Awesome!

Ok, the seating is a little cramped during lunch hour, but the food is worth the discomfort. Lots of organic ingredients like bread & meats, free range chicken and, most importantly, all sweats and snacks are made in house. This makes an awesome change from the factory produced slices that are sold at most city cafes. I had the lemon slice which was melt in your mouth zesty yum - and prompted me to write this review. Go there for the sweets alone ;-)

Consistently punches about its weight. A sound option if you're in this area. I've been coming here for years for coffee and meals and have never been let down. I've never been overly inspired either but nonetheless a place that offers good consistency like this one does deserves admiration and support. My cappuccino here this morning was lovely. Expertly made with a deep satisfying flavour. The young woman in the Nike trainers serving here is a superstar as well. Efficient, competent and pleasant and nice to regulars and irregulars.

This place is tugged away on Lt Collins just a few doors down from the Sheraton. The staff are very friendly and the service was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating and can put together tables for bigger groups. The menu is not big but quite a good selection. I had the smashed avocado, feta with pouched egg. It was nice and fresh and hit the spot. The coffee was good just a little milky for my taste. As the cafe has an open kitchen, I would recommend that you sit outside where possible.

Average spot. Had an açaí bowl that was nice but not memorable. Same goes for the service and overall vibe. Nice, but not memorable.

Convenient spot for a nice coffee if staying at the Sheraton as this is just steps out the door.

Little Rogue speaks for itself. Honestly they don't need my review. All you need to do is look at…read morethe line out the door and down the alleyway from the time they open and you know they're doing coffee right. I had to try them with all the rave reviews, especially in my journey to find the best of the best of the Melbourne coffee scene. It's harder than it sounds considering any coffee in Melbourne is already pretty top tier in comparison to anywhere else. Little Rogue deserves the line out the door and rave reviews. Not only is it in the top of the top for coffee I've had in Melbourne...or anywhere...they're also just really cool people. Not a coffee snob in sight. Just down to earth smiles, friendly even at the crack of dawn, and happy to serve you some of the best coffee you'll ever have. Seriously. If Australia, or Melbourne, isn't on your bucket list, it needs to be if only to have the firsthand experience of the coffee everyone talks about. Like so many Melbourne hotspots, Little Rogue is unmarked. No signage. If you know you know type of place. You wouldn't know it's there except for the line out the door that gives them away. Just across the alley and up a few steps is a bakery that's also getting a pretty good rap. Make it a whole trip to start your morning right. You won't be disappointed. PS... If you're at any of the iconic coffee hotspots in Melbourne and you really love your espresso, ask for the (Melbourne) Magic. Just the 'Magic' for the locals. You're welcome.
