The shop itself is super bare bones, they have cute pairings hung up haphazardly all over and it kind of seems like they didn't pay too much attention to details, but there's a good bit of seating and plenty of natural light to brighten the space. As for coffee, they have dozens of flavor combinations but it makes for pretty sweet drink options, and most of them seem to be make from syrups, so it's something I could just make at home and isn't super gourmet. But as one of the few options on the island for coffee, we were happy to get the drinks and a light lunch with friendly service here.

The first time we visited, we both ordered iced lattes, and we were not asked what size we wanted. We were defaulted to the medium size which was pretty pricy and more coffee than I wanted to drink. The next time, I was sure to order a small and there was no issue. There is plenty of seating and fun island themed artwork in the large dining area with bathrooms. There is also extensive seating outside in a nicely landscaped lush patio area. It's worth biking or walking over to the Bean, and there is something on their expensive menu for everyone!

When I came to check out, I saw what I at first thought to be Kaiser rolls and immediately thought about having a butter roll, but they were croissants and Charlie asked if I would like a bacon, egg and cheese or a sausage, egg and cheese, croissant and my belly and my mouth said "yes !" A pretty good sandwich. Not huge, but freshly made, great croissant. Tasty! I'm a local and have had a hard time finding just a relaxed coffee shop. Before today I would drive to the grocery store to get a cup of coffee at their coffee bars... not the coffee shop experience that I crave. Thank goodness this sweet little spot is here! I hope we can spread the word and get more visitors so The Carpenter's Cafe can open more often. Right now it's just open on Sunday.

They promised that this would be the best guacamole in the world, and it was. It was absolutely amazing. They also had a native plant garden to look at, which amazed me on which plants are native to here versus back home. They still had available parking space even though it was very very crowded. The paths were nice gravel and they even had sea shells in them to give them an extra tropical touch. As well as a LOT of palm trees. Good for people who want a tropical holiday feel.
