Since Wickies owns The Magic Bus Ice Cream right next door, we skipped Wickies' desserts and came over here for ice cream instead. And as a bonus, you get 10% off your ice cream purchase when you dine at Wickies. Great! The Magic Bus has taken over the previous Pinocchio's Ice Cream space (Pinocchio's moved to The Periwinkle Shops on Periwinkle Way). These folks here offer a nice variety of flavors along with Sanibel-themed souvenirs. Hubs ordered the butter pecan with chocolate syrup and I ordered a waffle bowl with one scoop each of strawberry and chocolate. The guy helping us mentioned it was his first day and while I totally understand everyone has to start somewhere, he seemed a bit frazzled. Unfortunately, the ice cream was a disappointment. After spending $21, both of us ended up throwing our ice cream away. Both of my scoops tasted freezer-burned and the butter pecan didn't really taste like butter pecan at all. I ordered the Tropical Sunset smoothie which had pineapple, mango, banana, orange juice, and agave (there may have been one more fruit). It was a little watery and the flavor was a little bitter; it seemed the pineapple maybe wasn't ripe. The staff were wonderful; they kept the crowd moving and were friendly and helpful. My grandbabies and I just adored this ice cream shop. Awesome ice cream!! Lots of flavors and nothing too odd or crazy. They do have coffee and bakery items but I have never tried those.

We come to Sanibel every year. I bring my wife for ice cream but I boycott them since they don't offer a military discount. As a disabled 4-year Iraqi war veteran I was really peeved to see them having the US flag hanging upside down with a large hole in it where the top grommet had ripped a hole in the flag on Memorial Day eve. I was utterly disgusted by their disrespect for the US flag and those who died for it. I would hope that all veterans boycott this worthless dump. read more

Great place and fantastic ambience. For breakfast they have the acai bowl with gluten free granola which was fantastic because I'm allergic to most things people eat for breakfast. My family had the icecream later on when we went back in the afternoon and they loved it. They have a few bakery items as well . They had a tart and brownie that were both gluten free which was great for my allergies as well. They also have a dairy free icecream and a gluten free ice cream for people who have allergies but if you don't they have regular great icecream. read more
