This is the first place in the neighborhood where you can sit and drink coffee, which is a welcome thing. There are not that many tables and I only saw one outlet, so it's not good for sitting and working with your laptop, but it doesn't seem built for that. It really seems to be a place to meet friends for 'koffie en kletzen'. The downstairs area is cozy and makes you feel like you're in a private hideaway. There is a decent amount of outdoor seating as well, even in chilly weather, for those who want to enjoy the great Amsterdam outdoors and tram 10 that passes by a few feet away on the street.
The service is friendly, and the coffee is good. I didn't try any of the food because it was all gluten-centric, but it looks good. This isn't as much of a breakfast place as a 'cake and coffee' place, which fits in with the chatting with friends theme. They have artisanal light bulb lighting, mellow music on the speakers, signs with platitudes on the walls, lots of pillows, and candles, what else could you want for getting together with someone and chatting. read more
