Tucked away in a little corner is this gem of a shop. I came this way because I wanted a quick coffee and most of the other shops on the main street had long lines. There aren't many places more mom and pop than Coffee & Cone. It feels very local and very cool. The kids pick Coffee & Cone over the other ice cream parlors in the hood. I quite like the large Ice Cream sculpture they mounted to the wall. Good feel on this place. And the service has always been top notch through the years, no matter who has owned it. read more

I really came here on Saturday afternoon. Ish and I was near the beach and it was very nice outside and hot so I'll grab some ice cream so I came by over here and I was greeted right away from two wonderful women and one of the women asked me if I wanted to try any other flavors and I said yes, so I tried the raspberry sorbet so I tried it and I was like can I please get this one please and I got one scoop they got different sizes. They got kids scoop one scoop and two scoops and I saw their menu. They have really good prices for a lot of things. Coffee & Cone is a good spot in downtown Kirkland for coffee and a cone, duh. I've passed by this small shop several times and just now, did I make my way to try Coffee & Cone since my friend gave me a gift card for here. We came here for ice cream cones, which they have a lot of flavors to choose from. I was told by the employee that they get their ice cream from a local dairy farm that does not sell in store. I was also pleased that they allowed samples, especially since there were so many flavors. I ended up getting a cone of animal cracker, which tasted like birthday cake with frosted animal crackers! It was yummy and definitely filled my sweet tooth. The ice cream was creamy enough and had chunks of the frosted animal crackers. It was solid. If you're looking for some ice cream in downtown Kirkland, then Coffee & Cone is a good option for doing so, especially since a lot of people hang out by the Kirkland marina in the summer time. Though they don't have indoor seating, there was outdoor seating and it's walking distance to the Kirkland marina. I'm glad we were able to try a cone from here. read more

My kids love the kids cones, which many places don't offer. I love the licorice ice cream which I know very few people do, but it's my all-time favorite! They also have all the flavors that people actually love, so you can't go wrong here. Whenever I'm in downtown kirkland, I keep passing by this place but never tried it for some reason. But today was the day :) The place is small but has a lot of ice cream! They have tons of flavor! I asked the guy what was good and he basically listed all the flavors they had ... I decided to go for the pineapple coconut and the almond pistachio in a waffle cone. The price was reasonable for what you get. The pineapple coconut was pretty good, I like the chunks do pineapple and coconut in there. The pistachio almond was not my favorite. It had this really strong almond flavor that was just too overwhelming for me. Overall, I think this is a decent ice cream place as it has a lot of flavors, but theres other dessert places nearby that I wouldn't put this ad my priority. read more

OMGGG I love Coffee & Cone! I had been wanting to try it for a few months and finally did the other evening. The store is super small, but has a great selection of flavors. I honestly would try just about every single flavor here. They allowed us to sample different flavors, which was awesome. :) I ended up getting a scoop of bubble gum and a scoop of birthday cake in a waffle cone. I'd say the price is quite reasonable for the amount that you get -- especially considering how yummy their ice cream is! I will say that this is the best ice cream place I've tried in the Downtown Kirkland area. The girl who took my order that evening was super sweet, but there was a man working that seemed to be a bit rude to his customer. Overall, we had a good experience and I was really pleased to find out how great their ice cream is. It reminds me of more of an older-school, classic ice cream spot, which I definitely love. Well, I gave it 4 stars for what it was and then got a response saying that I should have tried the coffee before saying anything negative. I specifically said I didn't try the coffee but I did purchase other items. I only provide reviews to help people decide where to go. With that sort of a response to my feedback, I'll drop down to 2. We were out and about enjoying a festival near the water and started to see kids running around with some really delicious looking ice cream. Well I had to find an excuse to get my paws on this ice cream so I grabbed my friend's kid and 'volunteered' to take him to get ice cream. I'm all about taking one for the team you know. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the owner and a nice young man working the cashier. My friend's adorable 10 year old was intrigued but cautious of the cotton candy ice cream flavor. They were great and let him sample before making his very calculated selection. I was looking for a banana milkshake and they didn't have anything to make it that day, as it was their first day back open, but assured me when I return for seconds the ingredients would be available. I enjoyed a root beer float which had a delicious ice cream and was generous in the helping. Wasn't thrilled. Too many ice crystals in the ice cream as if it was stored improperly or something. Not sure if they make things in house or if its just delivered. Hard to really tell if the flavor was good because the ice crystals were so prominent. Otherwise, kind of a hidden spot that you'd miss unless you stumbled by it. Atmosphere feels a bit like you walked into a basement that happens to have ice cream and I guess coffee. We tried the licorice, mango sherbet, vanilla & the DEATH BY CHOCOLATE. Awesome family owned place with an enthusiastic family selling the ice cream. The "death by chocolate" includes chocolate covered almonds and was a great new option that we have yet to try. They have variety and great prices. This place is exactly what we needed on a hot day. They made us some huge ice cream cones that my boys loved. The lady working the front register was so nice to my little boys and very kid friendly. The ice cream flavors were delicious, but the man working there was awful. He yelled at many guests in just the few minutes we were in the shop. The customers in front of us were apparently waiting on the "wrong" side of the shop and rather than asking them to politely move toward the far side, he berated them. I have a child with a severe allergy which some ice cream shops can accommodate while others cannot (which I don't hold against them! We know it's a 50/50 chance which is why I ask before ordering). He seemed extremely put off by my even asking about the allergens. My child couldn't eat it so he grabbed a popsicle instead- no biggie. He is undoubtedly one of the rudest employees I've ever encountered and would not return simply because of his attitude. read more

I was extremely disappointed today when my husband and I decided to head there after lunch. We spent $9.00 on two, one scoop ice creams on sugar cones. I can certainly justify paying that amount if the ice cream was house made, along with the cone, however, this is not the case. I do not think that we will be back any time soon. read more
