Me and my husband have been wanting to try this place for a few months, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Hands down my favorite latte in the Salt Lake Valley. I ordered a regular latte, and I was amazed by how smooth and flavorful it was. It had natural caramel-like notes without being overly sweet, and you can tell they use high-quality coffee. The baristas were very friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions. The ambiance was cozy, and everything felt intentional. Coffee & Chai is a great addition to the area and the quality of what they're serving really stands out. The chai is excellent--rich, flavorful, and noticeably different from the typical overly sweet chai you find at most coffee shops. The coffee was great as well, but the waffles may have been the highlight. They were absolutely amazing and are worth coming back for on their own. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review was the wait. It took quite a long time to get our order, especially for a coffee-and-chai shop, and hopefully that improves as they get their service flow dialed in. That said, the actual products were excellent. Sundays are busy so prepare to wait, We waited almost 20 min to order. Not sure if the barista taking order was frazzled but mixed up one of our drinks and forgot a muffin. I got the Arabic mocha. It's good but needs an extra shot. Too milkey, I like the cardamom flavor, the small size is like 16oz I think so it's pretty big. Hubby said it just tasted like hot chocolate. Which is why I say you need an extra shot to taste coffee. I liked their cinnamon muffin and their egg and cheese bagel was alright. Nothing special. Plenty of table and booth seating. It takes great effort to win my "favorite coffee shop" spot, and this place has just edged itself into #1 in the Valley. It's a bonus that it's close to my home, but I'd make the drive if I had to. Ambiance: I think the pictures speak for themselves. What a beautiful designed, large, functional dining space. Over half the tables were taken by those visiting with friends or working. I didn't look closely, but I'm assuming those tables had power available. Service: was kind and helpful with the menu, especially in explaining exactly how the drinks were made for dietary/allergy purposes. Food: the coffee, the matcha (I thought they wouldn't have had it on their menu, but they do, and they do it really well), and of course the chai are all mind blowing. Super busy on a Sunday mid morning. The line was pretty long. It took us about 25 min to get to the register. It took another 15 min to get our order. Not the fault of try staff, it was just BUSY! That's always a good sign though. I got the Kashmiri Chai and loved it. I like the crunch from the pistachio they put on top. I also got a banana nut muffin. It was super moist and yummy. I came here with my mom and sister on a Saturday morning. There's plenty of seating and the entire south wall is lined with windows so there is a lot of natural light. There were beautiful booths along the east wall, but unfortunately, there were reserved signs on all of them. They have so many different drink and pastry options, and they all sound amazing! For drinks, we got the mango smoothie, mango matcha, and banana matcha. So delicious and you could really taste the banana and mango. For food, we got a plain croissant, white chocolate strawberry waffle, an everything but the bagel with egg and cheese, and a banana nut muffin. Everything came out hot and quick. They have utensils and a water station which was nice. The space is very clean and we enjoyed everything we got. read more

Little did I know that I was stumbling into a coffee shop in it's soft launch-they hadn't even had their formal grand opening yet. But I had a wonderful conversation with the man behind the counter was so enthusiastic about the business and told me about it's origins and planned vision. Inviting Atmosphere & Yummy Coffee! First time at Coffee & Chai and wasn't disappointed! It's located in a strip mall that offers ample parking. Walked in and was instantly impressed with how spacious the seating area was. We were greeted by incredibly friendly service. Despite it being busy, we received our drinks pretty quickly. A convenient location and large parking lot makes it easy to get here. The interior is spacious, but still preserves the homeyness you want in a coffee shop; I'm excited to see how they use their space for events, and even more excited to see their menu evolve as they learn what works. Blake, as well as the whole crew was especially friendly for how stressful their first day open must have been, so I can only imagine that you'll be greeted with an even warmer smile on any other day. On to the coffee: I tried the white rose mocha, which has an exceptionally frothy head, and you can tell is made with great beans, but the rose flavor didn't come through until it had cooled down quite a bit from the temperature it was served at. I was disappointed at first, but pleasantly surprised minutes later when I took another sip. The chai, which Blake made sure I knew is their signature, is phenomenal. While preserving the earthiness and light spice of the tea, as I've been told, by following a family recipe, they've created a silky smooth drink that's not overwhelmingly sweet, and obviously absent any artificial flavors or syrups. read more

I love studying here! The space is amazing, and they have tons of seating. I appreciate that they're open so late. It's a great place to get work done or meet up with friends. I have found that almost all the tables get filled up around 9pm and it can get a bit loud after that. There are outlets in the booths and the tables along the wall. I've tried their Caramelized Banana Latte and Cardamom Latte. Both were delicious. I also really like their Pesto Chicken Sausage Croissant Sandwich. Their Dubai Cheesecake was yummy but definitely a bit too sweet for me. I also noticed that their pricing isn't always consistent with what's on the menu and that some items have upcharges that aren't specified. It does get a bit frustrating when you don't know what to expect. read more

At their grand opening, they even had a celebratory camel on site that you could pet and take photos with, which was such a fun and memorable touch. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot to lounge or catch up on work. Not all seats have outlets, so plan ahead if you're bringing a laptop. This visit, I ordered the masala chai and a veggie samosa with chutney. Both were delicious. The samosa was crispy with a little kick of spice, and the chutney cooled everything down perfectly. The chai itself was rich and exactly what I wanted. Coffee and Chai is quickly becoming one of my favorite local spots. I'm excited to keep working my way through their menu. read more

i've been here a couple times and i've tried a lot of their menu. i will say their lattes are just okay, the matchas i definitely do NOT recommend. the taste is too milky and definitely not high quality matcha. maybe it's the way they store it but it tastes a bit stale and almost a little dusty. you can tell by the color even. i couldn't recommend the drinks too much. i've tried the banana latte, spanish latte, butter pecan latte, as well as a mango matcha and strawberry matcha. these were all separate occasions, cuz i really wanted to love this spot, but the drinks aren't the best. i will say their chicken sausage pesto sandwich from here is absolutely delicious though!! i don't recommend the lattes unless it's the spanish latte, that one's pretty good. the store itself is pretty nice and comfortable. read more

Casual. Relaxing. Don't know much about the music genre but it's interesting. Nice place coffee/drinks are 11/10.

I always find it to be a huge disappointment when cafes only have plastic and paper for to-stay orders. I think drinking out of a plastic straw or paper lid really ruins the experience of the drink, and I assumed since they asked to-stay or to-go that there would be a difference in how they served the orders. The chai was good, but I'm not super picky with chai. The matcha was not particularly good, I did get it sweetened which was nice, but bitter notes of the matcha still came though, so I can't say it's good quality. The location is super cute and spacious, great for meeting up with friends for sure, and they do have some outdoor seating which I enjoyed. I was disappointed that the employees didn't seem to know much about the pastries/food, when I asked what was made in-house or bought in bulk, they couldn't really answer me and just said it's from an unnamed bakery. I am trying to support non-sysco local businesses, so it was frustrating that I couldn't really determine if the food or drink were truly local. read more

Coffee & Chai doesn't have much in the area of food. They do have pastries which is nice but I don't know if they're made in house or outsourced. The service was good albeit a little unorganized. They just opened and are finding their groove, I think in a couple of months they'll have a process. None of these growing pains affects the service I received. The overall vibe is very cute. They have a couch and a few booths with ample tables. It is well decorated and enjoyable. Their hours are really good as well, open till midnight Monday - Sunday. It reminds me a lot of Sunset Coffee. One last thing for those who care; they use Torani syrups. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a bit, so I went in on a Sunday early evening. It was pretty busy, which is a good sign. The service was friendly and welcoming despite being busy. There is a lot of seating, so this is a good place to come if you need to work or just want to sit and enjoy your drink. When full, I would imagine it could get loud, but it wasn't too noisy when I was there. The decor is very Middle Eastern inspired, and I really liked the overall aesthetic. As for the drinks, I ordered the Arabic mocha. It was smooth and had a nice flavor. The cardamom mixes well with the chocolate flavor and it was nice to try a different spin on a mocha. It took a little bit to get the drinks, so this isn't the place to go if you're in a hurry, but it was a good experience and I'll definitely be back. Also, the place is open until midnight every day, so it's nice to have an option for late night coffee without having to go all the way downtown. read more

Hours are fantastic. Service and staff were fast and friendly. The noise was louder than a High School cafeteria! Impossible to talk and hear. Maybe some sound boards or something in ceiling would help. It was crowded, but not welcoming to us. Now the most important part- the coffee... We had a hot latte and iced latte. Both had almost no coffee flavor, and the milk must have been skim or watered down. Price was a bit higher than other places, but if coffee was good, it would have helped. Maybe their specialty is Chai? We really wanted to like the coffee, as they are opened later, but it just had no flavor. I don't know if it is the beans they use, or just not enough of them.
