It's located right before you get on the PA Turnpike, so it's very convenient. You can also pick up a lot of convenience store goods, and there are restrooms here. RG's Food Shop/Gulf Oil is physically connected to the McDonald's here. You can walk back and forth between the two without going outside.

Basically this is a gas station on steroids. They built this thing to compete with other chains that have a stronger foothold in the area. I have been to a few Rutter's before, but this one just seems different. I'm not sure why when these are built that they have to gigantic. I suppose they are aiming for all the truck traffic that goes through this corridor, and that is the reason they reconfigured the road to allow easier access. When I say this thing is huge I am not exaggerating. The inside is vast and has an expanse of items to choose from. They have their own take on their made-to-order food, I did not partake. When I was there they were still in the process of fully opening up. It appears that this place will have a gaming parlor. You know, just like every other gas station in the state now, they will have skills game. Unnecessary? Yes, but it seems to be the norm everywhere in the state of PA now. After stretching my legs and using the facilities I found an item and made my way to the register to pay. Not sure if it is like this at all Rutter's, but I had a loyalty card forced on me. Not that I needed one, but I got one. It was just kind of shoved on me, even though I really didn't need one. Overall, because this is brand new it gets high stars, but over time I feel like this is going to slide a bit.

Recently they did a teardown and rebuild of this location which still remains on the busy, turnpike alternative, Route 30. Somehow they were able to accomplish making this feel larger. I'm not sure if the number of pumps changed, but they are all in a row which makes it easier to pull in and right up to a pump. Parking is ample and I suggest parking to the one side of the building. Sometimes it makes for an easy entrance. Especially if you are in need of the facilities, which I am while driving through. The facilities are right inside this set of doors. Inside, it feels much like a truck stop. Wider aisles, dedicated area for food ordering/eating, bigger selection. This location is set up with all the new toys, self checkouts included. Selection is great if you are looking for a snack or drink. Employees are great. Always seem to be lively and up for a chat with all the passing people on the highways. Just because you may have bypassed the turnpike doesn't get you out of the competition on the roads.

Long before the Turnpike became a way for the state to extract money from travelers to pay for continuous "improvements" and to fund other non-Turnpike related agencies and items, it was a super highway allowing fast, safe travel across the commonwealth. The Midway plazas were unique because they were across from one another and there's a tunnel that runs under the road that joins them; this tunnel has long been closed to the public. Anyway, if you have time, it's fun to look at the pictures that adorn this plaza and also to check out the items in the gigantic display case that celebrate the creation and history of this road.

Enough pumps outside for fueling needs and with pay at the pump there is really no need to enter the store if you do not need to. Inside it is rather small and only offers convenience needs. Being attached to a McDonald's limits them with there kitchen. You cannot get an item made from the GetGo kitchen. Prices are the norm for these items. Special change often, look for the stickers for what is offered. Remember to use you Advantage Card if you have it, collect those extra cents off of gas.

And I have to say it's pretty audacious to build a small local pharmacy across the street from a RiteAid. Usually these things happen the other way around. The big national chain opens and puts the little guy out of business. Fisher's was great. It had everything I needed, in a warm and helpful environment, and a striking building. I wish them plenty of success, and maybe they can even reverse the trend and send the big chain packing.

Truly, I receive respectful, kind and extremely efficient customer service every time I go to Fisher's. And when I say every time, I actually mean it. When I walk in the door of Fisher's, I am always greeted with a genuine smile and warm "Hello." I feel very welcomed. Fisher's gladly fills my prescriptions quickly - every time (for real). The pharmacist-owner, Jenn, and staff are always happy to help, answer questions, order items and so on. She is a compassionate pharmacist and human being who understands and empathizes with customers' health concerns. Sometimes while waiting for my prescriptions (if you can call about ten minutes a wait) I may buy a greeting card or two - they have a very nice selection - or just sit comfortably. I'm a senior citizen (already?!) and I've been to my share of pharmacies over the years, but the service, kindness and attentiveness I receive at Fisher's is simply unmatched. I was in the Walmart Pharmacy today and I had my first prescriptions filled Unfortunately with…read moreall new year prescriptions changes, some of my current medications were not going through correctly. I had explained to the lady pharmacy clerk that I shouldn't be billed no more than $4.00 for each of my prescription except for 1 prescription. So she resubmitted the prescriptions that weren't going through correctly again and she was able to get my prescriptions covered. If she had not tried to resubmit my prescriptions I would not have been able to pay for the prescriptions and would have to go without them. I am so very thankful that the employee was not a computer or automated system because I would have not been helped. I will keep using the Walmart Pharmacy and recommending them.

Well if that is what you are thinking all I can say is take a trip here and see if you can get everything on your shopping list. All the aisles are narrow and shorter than all other super centers you will come across. You will have to either wait to make it through an aisle or walk forever until you find one that you can go down. As for the merchandise, you will find the most popular items on the shelf, but not the one you want. I couldn't find a single item that I was looking for, but I found a lot of the Walmart branded items for those items. Only good side, self checkouts.
