Their poison brought out the worst in me. Maybe that staff are not even there now, but when you mistreat a longstanding patient that has always shown up w good energy, and demonstrates a willingness to cooperate and act on professional advice, it's easy not to miss down-low, low-life CFD sucker trash. The change of venue worked in my favor bc I am now with an office where I feel valued, respected and treated w warmth. I'm thankful I can contribute to the well-being of this new environment.

I was told by the receptionist that North Pointe's insurance program changed and therefore, I owed money. I stated that I was never made aware of this and there are laws protecting consumers. They stated they would look into it. I was told that the bill was reduced, but they expected me to pay half. Again, I told them that I did not think this was appropriate due to the fact of never being told that I would need to pay anything due to their policy change which I should have been informed about. I pay for dental insurance to avoid having to pay for routine cleanings. Plus my husband is ill and not working so if I knew I would have to pay extra, I wouldn't have booked the cleaning here. They said that they look into it and if I didn't hear from them that I could count on the bill being forgiven. I didn't hear from them, but I did get a bill from collections. I'm livid. I thought we were working on handling this together and I thought it was handled, yet they sent it to collections. They lack accountability and compassion.

The dental association gave me a little check but that didn't cover the major mistakes that the doctors from Grandville Dental made. I was fooled by all several fake stock photos that was used on their Facebook and their Incentivized google reviews. I though this office was able to perform a full mouth restoration of all porcelain teeth but I couldn't be any more wrong. This company keeps suppressing honest truthful reviews. Why would yelp hide a basic review that doesn't break guidelines. Maybe they are paying yelp of something I dunno but its confusing and hard to trust any Yelp reviews when I know they are allowing this company to wrongfully flag reviews and have them removed for no reason other than the owner of the company simply doesn't like it, that shouldn't be justification to have a review removed.

It was already hard enough finding a dentist in the area that accepts my insurance and who could see me sooner than later and by later I mean a few months from now. I came in with pain in my lower left teeth and when they took x-rays they found out I still had wisdom teeth that were impacted and need to be extracted. OK that's fine I'm totally down for that, at least my insurance covers 80% of it so that shouldn't be too bad. But here's where things became really sleazy and messed up. I was told that I was going to need to get my wisdom teeth extracted before I could get a cleaning done. Then they have the audacity to tell me that I need a comprehensive dental cleaning appointment and guess how much I have to pay out-of-pocket because insurance won't cover it? Nearly $4500. I straight up said I don't have that kind of money and then I was told that they have a financing option, cool well I still don't have that kind of money, I live paycheck to paycheck and my husband and I have separate banking accounts, he's not gonna help me pay for this, he expects me to pay for my own stuff as he as he believes these bills are my responsibility regardless of it being under his insurance. I mentioned something about "thanks Trump" in regards to my wages being garnished due to the student loan debt being reinstated by the Department of education, and Ingrid the financer had the nerve to say "I wouldn't blame it entirely on him" so I know that I'm not in good hands in this place which is really disheartening as a woman because this clinic is run entirely by women. I ended up calling a dental clinic downtown with rave reviews over the quality of work, a dental clinic that has been in business since the 80s and the lady on the phone told me that she was 66 years old, she's been doing dental work since she was 18, And in all her years of dental work she has never heard of such a philosophy. And my best friend had the same thing happen with her boyfriend who has military dental insurance. They feel that they are justified in this "philosophy" of theirs but there is no justification in denying a basic cleaning to a new patient because you want them to get their wisdom teeth taken out first after you just told them that a cleaning will help them with the health of their gums and prevent further decay which is something that I was having an issue with. I am so upset considering how close this place was to me and it was in a safe area, I will not recommend this dental clinic to anyone they will rip you off.

So I took time off work, drove into town, and sat outside for 35 min. I called the "please call this number on your arrival" number several times. I texted that number several times. I went up and knocked on the door. The voicemail said they were open but busy assisting someone else. I was the only car in the lot. No one ever answered. After 35 minutes, I guess the dentists were leaving for the day and on their way out they stopped to ask what I was doing out there. They insisted they are not doing hygiene appointments and that all of them were cancelled. Except mine wasn't cancelled. I had no missed calls from the office. I have no voicemails from the office. And I have an email that confirmed my appointment. And if they were supposedly open, someone could have answered the phone or my text at some point over the 35 minutes to tell me they were not open. But they didn't. All of this, paired with me always making the first appointment of the day at 7am so I can make it to work on time, only to not be taken back until 7:30am while I can hear the hygienists chatting behind the doors, and being late for work every time, and then the good doctor that they had absolving their partnership is reason enough to find a new dentist. They have made it very clear that your time and money is not valuable to them, except the part where you pay them for their services. Update: I reached out to them via email and said I think they should pay me for lost wages plus gas if they're going to cancel. After all, most doctors/dentists will charge you if you cancel without notice. They told me I was being reported to the police for being angry and threatening. Was I angry? Yes, I still am. Did I threaten anyone? Only if repeatedly asking why no one called to cancel is threatening. Only if asking why I received a confirmation email for my appointment within the last 2 weeks is threatening. Only if telling them I lost 1.5 hours worth of wages and drove almost 50 miles round trip was threatening. I was also asked never to step foot in their office again. That won't be a problem 2nd update: I just confirmed with another patient that she did actually get her teeth cleaned the very same day I was told they cancelled all cleanings and were not currently doing them. So this entire thing could have been avoided two ways - they could have called and cancelled my appointment, or they could have kept my appointment since they were doing cleanings. Instead they did neither and lied to me
