While they try to work with insurances, they draw a hard line at using amalgams and only use composite resins. Since my insurance does not cover the latter, my family is potentially "on the hook" for the difference (BTW, they have generally only billed up to the amount allowed for the amalgam).

I was told by the receptionist that North Pointe's insurance program changed and therefore, I owed money. I stated that I was never made aware of this and there are laws protecting consumers. They stated they would look into it. I was told that the bill was reduced, but they expected me to pay half. Again, I told them that I did not think this was appropriate due to the fact of never being told that I would need to pay anything due to their policy change which I should have been informed about. I pay for dental insurance to avoid having to pay for routine cleanings. Plus my husband is ill and not working so if I knew I would have to pay extra, I wouldn't have booked the cleaning here. They said that they look into it and if I didn't hear from them that I could count on the bill being forgiven. I didn't hear from them, but I did get a bill from collections. I'm livid. I thought we were working on handling this together and I thought it was handled, yet they sent it to collections. They lack accountability and compassion.

It fell off again on a Friday evening. I could not secure it back in place because it has a HOLE in it. I called Monday morning. It took an HOUR to finally get ahold of someone and then I was told they could not possibly get me in anytime Monday. So I guess the dentist lied?? It's not important to get in right away?? It fell off FRIDAY! Whatever, time to look for a new dentist.

Amazing pediatric dentist! Our cousins recommended this office and we were so impressed with the…read moreentire experience! They were booked out a few months and unfortunately, we had to cancel our summer appointment because of sickness. We finally got in today and had the best appointment! The office shares a drive with a daycare, so head to the right when you turn in. It's a beautiful Tiffany blue building with plenty of parking. It doesn't even feel like a dentist office when you walk in through the doors - everything is nautical themed, there's an electric fireplace, 2 TVs (one was playing Frozen - score!), and a canoe/kayak (sorry can't tell the difference) was hanging over the reception desk. Check in was quick as a first timer - everything was filled out on an iPad. We were required to mask and get our temperatures taken upon arrival. Our appointment started promptly on time with 2 dental hygienists/assistants walking us back and asking if we wanted a private room or the open space with all the other kids. We opted for the open space because my toddler performs better when he's around his peers :). Our hygienist was gentle and offered my son a pop-it to keep his hands busy while she counted and cleaned his teeth. They had a TV playing Frozen on the ceiling and gave him sunglasses to wear. It took 2 hygienists to get his PA X-rays done, but they were successful with distracting him and getting him to cooperate. I liked that I was able to stay with him but was never needed to intervene because they had everything under control - truly experts at handling kids! Dr. Meggan reviewed his X-rays, gave us tips to keep him cavity free and gave him a fluoride treatment (covered once a year with dental). She even remembered our cousins who recommend us to her! At the end, my son got to pick out 2 prizes for cooperating: a bouncy ball and a grow your own dino egg. We were checked out and the receptionist gave me a print out of my dental insurance coverage - so very helpful as it allowed me to know what was covered and what to expect on our bill. Overall, this office is amazing. All the staff was helpful, caring and kind. Thank you so much for a great first experience! We'll be back in 6 months!
