Apparently they decided to do some roadwork on the street I was parked on and only put up signs over the weekend. When I came out to move it for street sweeping the whole street was empty. From checking in with neighbors I was told what had happened and that my car was only one of many that were towed away that morning. More annoyed with the city for not putting up signage over a longer period but I guess I was just unlucky. As for Freddie Mac's I called the night before to check if my car had indeed been impounded there (they are open 24 hrs). The guy that answered was friendly and luckily let me know that I needed a release form from the police station to pick it up. He let me know I could pick up the car after hours but the fee was more than just letting it stay in the lot for another day. So I decided to leave it there for the night. The following day once I had all the required paperwork I headed over to pick up my car. The wait was short, Vivian the front desk lady was very nice and helpful. I had already called before pickup as to the amount I would be charged. The charges are also clearly labeled on the window at a flat rate. The only problem was when I got there they had no change so I ended up having to use my CC. So warning if you plan to pay in cash bring the EXACT amount. They have the new CC machines that scan the chip so no problems there, the additional charges to use CC came to $4. I got my receipt and headed over to the lot, (waited at the wrong entrance of the lot lol) called Vivian back and she let me know. When we got to my car we found that it would not start and the battery had been disconnected. While there was nothing of value taken from inside (My melted chocolate snack and designer sunglasses survived the ordeal) after connecting the battery my alarm system would not shut off correctly. Driving that car home was a sight to see. Overall, process was smooth, employees were civil, was surprised I didn't come out of there with a horror story like all these negative reviews.

This is an area we are unfamiliar with and let alone we ended up pulling into this sketchy area as it was the closest off the freeway. My family and I had to leave our vehicle behind an alley and run to find a safe place to find a tow company. I called a few places and they told them our situation and they were quoting $600+ plus to tow and drive us back to the Valley. I ended up finding Hawks via Yelp and decided to give them a call. I ended up speaking with a nice individual and he quoted us half the price. They came to our rescue and had to bring a flatbed due to the type of vehicle we had. It was under the 10 freeway and close to the entrance. It was getting dark and only had two flares. I took to yelp to find a tow service near buy and found Andy's towing. Luckily he answered and he said he could be at my location in 10 minutes! Andy arrived and I was saved! I was originally going to tow the car to my parents house and figure it out in the morning but in the car ride I asked Andy if he knew any reliable mechanics that worked on BWMs. He said yes my friend at Thong's Auto. He called him up and he said he's be able to fix my car! Ended up towing the car to the shop. Turned out to be excessive wear and tear on the rear axle. AAA wouldn't do the tow since it was considered a "convenience tow," so I called Angel City's Towing 2. They came right away and towed my car before the shop closed. The very next day, I called them back to tow me to CarMax and the same driver came out. He was super friendly and helpful. Navarro's Towing handled it like champs. Clearly drawing on years of experience, the Navarro's tow truck driver used their tow bed pulley system of the truck to gently slide the vehicle to the left, clear of the curb in front. I was amazed. After towing my car to the service shop they were very friendly and professional as they gently put the vehicle back on the ground in a somewhat easier-looking reversal of the pickup technique.
