Freddie Mac's Towing - 24 hr service

Freddie Mac's Towing

Came here today to pick up my Honda Accord that the police got towed. Pretty much my fault for not…read morechecking in on it over the weekend. Apparently they decided to do some roadwork on the street I was parked on and only put up signs over the weekend. When I came out to move it for street sweeping the whole street was empty. From checking in with neighbors I was told what had happened and that my car was only one of many that were towed away that morning. More annoyed with the city for not putting up signage over a longer period but I guess I was just unlucky. As for Freddie Mac's I called the night before to check if my car had indeed been impounded there (they are open 24 hrs). The guy that answered was friendly and luckily let me know that I needed a release form from the police station to pick it up. He let me know I could pick up the car after hours but the fee was more than just letting it stay in the lot for another day. So I decided to leave it there for the night. The following day once I had all the required paperwork I headed over to pick up my car. The wait was short, Vivian the front desk lady was very nice and helpful. I had already called before pickup as to the amount I would be charged. The charges are also clearly labeled on the window at a flat rate. The only problem was when I got there they had no change so I ended up having to use my CC. So warning if you plan to pay in cash bring the EXACT amount. They have the new CC machines that scan the chip so no problems there, the additional charges to use CC came to $4. I got my receipt and headed over to the lot, (waited at the wrong entrance of the lot lol) called Vivian back and she let me know. When we got to my car we found that it would not start and the battery had been disconnected. While there was nothing of value taken from inside (My melted chocolate snack and designer sunglasses survived the ordeal) after connecting the battery my alarm system would not shut off correctly. Driving that car home was a sight to see. Overall, process was smooth, employees were civil, was surprised I didn't come out of there with a horror story like all these negative reviews.

Everything of value within car got stolen and it is an inside job. Look at the reviews and it is not just one time thing. Company needs to be audited and checked!! It has been occurring. Hawks Towing - Car being towed

On the night…read moreof 12.14.24 my father had passed away, after leaving my mother's home in OC we were driving back when we got a flat tire in Lynwood. This is an area we are unfamiliar with and let alone we ended up pulling into this sketchy area as it was the closest off the freeway. It was so scary and we had to abandon our vehicle due to not being able to get roadside service right away. My family and I had to leave our vehicle behind an alley and run to find a safe place to find a tow company. I called a few places and they told them our situation and they were quoting $600+ plus to tow and drive us back to the Valley. I ended up finding Hawks via Yelp and decided to give them a call. I ended up speaking with a nice individual and he quoted us half the price. They came to our rescue and had to bring a flatbed due to the type of vehicle we had. He drove us all the way from Lynwood to the Valley. After going through such a traumatic and sad incident with my Father the Owner of Hawks drove us to our house safely he was kind, compassionate, he kept my sons spirits up and made us feel at ease and just safe. He will forever be our guardian angel. Professional, honest, hard working and kind. I would highly recommend Hawks! Thank you

I left Dixon's Motor Service in tears today. We take responsibility for our car having expired…read moreregistration, but that does not excuse unclear pricing or the way I was spoken to when I questioned the bill. This morning, my husband discovered that his car was missing from where he had parked it. The San Gabriel Police Department confirmed that it had been towed the day before because of expired registration. It's an older car that needs a battery and other repairs, and we simply haven't had the funds to fix it. We've been hoping to keep it as a backup vehicle. We immediately started handling everything needed to get it released, including the DMV paperwork, a moving permit because it still needs a smog check, and a $197 police release fee. We wanted to pick it up as quickly as possible to avoid accumulating storage charges. Before going to Dixon's, I called and spoke with John, who was very nice. I explained that our car had been towed and asked about the daily cost. He told me $85 per day. I called again to confirm how many days we would be charged. A woman explained that they charge by calendar day, not by 24-hour periods, so we owed two days at $85 each: $170. No additional towing charge was mentioned to me during either conversation. Based on those calls, I understood that we would owe $170 when we arrived. Once we got there, Mariano, who was also polite, needed to call someone for instructions on processing the release. That was when we were suddenly told the total was $420: $250 for the tow, plus $170 for storage. Dixon's is only 0.2 miles from our house, literally around the block. I was shocked. When I questioned why the additional $250 had never been mentioned, a woman who identified herself as Amy spoke with me by phone. When I explained what John had told me, she said I shouldn't have been speaking to him because he was "only a driver." But I had called their business, and he was the person who answered. I explained that I had called a second time and had been told $170. Amy said she had told me about the charge and that the conversations were recorded. She offered to let me hear the recording, and I immediately said yes--please pull it up so we could hear what was actually said. No recording was played for me. Instead, she told me, "It's $420, and if you don't like it, leave my office now." That response stunned me. I was upset and, in frustration, called them thieves. She responded that the police were the ones who had our car towed and that I should take it up with them. My husband asked me to step outside, and I burst into tears. I had explained that he is a disabled veteran and that this unexpected expense was a financial hardship. I felt there was no compassion or willingness to address why the amount I understood from the phone calls was so different from the bill. We paid the $420 because leaving the car there would only mean more storage charges. I understand why the car was towed, and I understand that towing costs money. My complaint is about the failure to clearly explain the full cost during two phone calls and the dismissive treatment when I asked about it. Being told to leave after requesting a recording that was offered to me was completely unacceptable. If you have to deal with this business, ask for the full, itemized release total, including towing and every additional fee, before you arrive. This was an incredibly upsetting experience.

They kept me updated through text messages during the short time in between while the tow truck was arriving. They provided all the answers to the questions I had and help ensure I had a receipt to get reimbursed by my insurance company. Their service was above and beyond. They sent a great guy named Steve who was very professional but also extremely nice and fun guy to talk to while hooking up the car and giving me a ride to drop it off at the repair shop.
