Food was excellent. The staff and owner could not have been nicer. We happened across this while passing through town. Would HIGHLY recommend. If not a BBQ person they have other options as well. Happy we stopped - you will be too.

Was craving some BBQ and Code 1 did not disappoint when I came thru the door the place smelled like grilled meat and the staff were very friendly and welcoming to my friend and I. They had just got done prepping some Brunt Ends let us know know we could order some to eat. So we did just that! Getting a Brisket grilled cheese sandwich and a Brisket Burnt Ends Sandwich. The Brisket was cooked to perfection!. The meat was tender, juicy and bursting with flavor! It was exactly what I needed for my BBQ craving! I recommend coming and trying the brisket!

Lunch Brisket & Mac n cheese bowl, Coleslaw, pulled chicken grilled cheese, beans, Cornbread

I went to code 1 bbq for the first time Monday and was super pleasantly surprised. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Carolina bbq sauce was delicious. My friend had a pulled chicken grilled cheese that she loved, I had Mac n cheese bowl with brisket. The meat was so tender, perfectly seasoned and so delicious. The Mac n cheese was smooth and yummy. The coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and delicious. I haven't found any bbq in MA that I've enjoyed and my southern friend hadn't either, and we thoroughly enjoyed code 1. Everyone working was super friendly and checked on us to make sure everything was satisfactory. They were so friendly. There was lots of seating. It's very clean. We will definitely be back. We got home and immediately had our leftovers because everything was soo good.

The only option you have in Wilmington. Food is mediocre and of course expensive because it's the only place in Wilmington that sells bbq. The price on the website is incorrect. I ordered 4 meats/3 sides which prices $45.99 on the website but it's actually $97! I will not come back and will not recommend

Mac and cheese - A disposable cup filled with macaroni pasta coated in a creamy cheese sauce, with some small dark specks.

Good location, great vibe. Hell of a menu. Here we go Ribs are excellent. Looked perfect. Great rub with that cracked black herb and sweet brown sugar and good mix of red spices. The sweetness is prominent but the savory is still in there. Awesome smoke ring, don't care if you don't care about it. Pork flavor, moisture, and tenderness was on point. Excellent ribs. Brisket was probably what most people want in a brisket. Smokey and beefy. I really enjoy the overuse of a nice Brisket rub with the black pepper. The rub is definitely there on code one's brisket and it's great. I'm just weird. Excellent smoke ring again. First time I've ever been asked "lean or moist" for the cut preference. Thought that was funny. Usually it's "lean or fatty" or "flat or point" or something like that. Pulled pork was very very good. Moisture, seasoning, pork flavor and texture. Spot on! Not much fat chunks in there. Very good pulled pork Mac and cheese was disappointing. Just boiled pasta and some cheddar sauce. Turns into this peanut butter texture in your mouth. Baked beans were the perfect texture, the gravy was thick and not drippy. But the flavor was lost. It tasted more like a tomato paste that had some mild but familiar seasoning in it. Sauces: Alabama White was good but ... it's not like any other Alabama white I've ever had. It was more like a sour cream and onion dip flavor if it had a bunch of sugar in it. Texas Red was very unique. Very good sweet sauce if you're into that. Think there's pineapple or mango or both going on in there. Carolina gold: I love a gold sauce. This is yellow mustard with maybe a pinch of sugar. All in all it's really good bbq. Sides could use some work but there's like 10 other options to pick from.

Brisket grilled cheese with side of mac and cheese delicious!! - A grilled cheese sandwich with toasted bread and melted cheese is served with a side of macaroni and cheese in a paper tray.

Excellent food. The pulled pork and brisket were tender and flavorful. The staff was super friendly and gracious. Will definitely come back.

I would love to visit the restaurant and hope too soon to check it out and meet any workers or the owner but unfortunately at 35, I am having bad problems with my back and not able to stand or walk for three minutes or less . Now let's get to what is important! The brisket and the ribs are truly great, cooked right and so, so tasty and both make a great meal especially with the pit beans. The pulled pork sandwich is absolutely delicious. So flavorsome. The cornbread is really good. Like really, really good. I haven't had a cornbread like that since my mother would make it. I love getting a pulled pork sandwich and some cornbread. The kids absolutely love everything that I have named too. I was happy that my son had liked the pit beans, I was surprised sometimes he can be picky but he really liked them. He loves everything they are, especially the pulled pork sandwich and the cornbread. Even though I have not been there, they seem to have put a lot of work into their menu and definitely into their cooking each time I get something from there... everything is always cooked amazing. They absolutely have everything under control.

Much to our surprise, it took 10+ minutes for anyone to come over to our table, and there were only about 4 tables sat in the entire restaurant. Not off to a great start. The food at the location, was by far the best of all locations. All the meat was tender, and the sides were perfect. We got the pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, burnt ends, brisket, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, coleslaw - all were exceptional. Assuming service improves, I would give this place a 5/5 and is an absolute must go to. Skip heading into the city and go to the suburbs. Parking is easier, and the food quality is much better!

This is a nice antidote to what way TOO MANY "Asian" restaurants are like in the greater Boston…read morearea: slick, prettified and exoticized decor, inflated pricing and mediocre, bland and generally dumbed-down tourist food. This place is none of those things---the interior is simple and dare I say, well worn. But that's the whole point, you feel like you're in an authentic immigrant family restaurant, which it appears to be---a very very sweet and kind lady seems to be the only server in this place (we went on a weeknight, so maybe on a Friday/Sat/Sun it's more crowded and there are more staff) and her husband mans the cash register by the door. Old school! Food is solid and authentic, and refreshingly gimmick-free. What you see is what you get. Shockingly, the prices are about the same as in the Korean places in the food court at H-Mart down the road in Burlington...but you get more and better quality food! And they don't appear to have an alcohol license, which is kind of a good thing because they don't try to upsell you with their drink menu, which in Asian restaurants tend to be pretty lousy mass-market water-beers (sometimes just with Asian labels on similar swill) at craft-beer prices anyhow. Bimbibap was quite unique: rice was served on a separate bowl, while the actual main bowl was full of veggies and meat and egg. Very nice contrast to most places' bimbibap being 80% rice and 20% veggies/meat. Came with a small side of miso soup. UPDATE, one week later: Came back to try out the Korean BBQ. For 3 people, we ordered 3 of the BBQ menu items, came out to a reasonable $100 or so before tip since we just had the complimentary toasted brown rice tea (hyeonmi-cha) and ice water. It was just the right amount of food for an evening meal (more voractious eaters would probably want an additional 1-2 dishes) and the lady came to our table to cook the food for us, ensuring that nothing would be overcooked. The short rib was easily the best, followed by the bulgogi, and the squid with pork belly and veggies was pretty good not great (it was interestingly cooked over the open flame on a square of aluminum foil). Everything was perfectly marinated, tender and juicy. Ventilation was good, so our clothes did not reek of roasted meat afterwards---some places have weak fans, this one did not. Service was again impeccable, gracious and speedy...very nice warm vibes, not cold or perfunctory like some places. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Decided since we were in the area, the lady and I would give it a go! Still the best available in the area IMO for non-AYCE traditional style. They cook it for you so if you aren't KBBQ savvy, they got you! The wife is awesome she's usually very sweet and cooks your meats perfectly. The hubby, haha he always seems grouchy but no issues. Service is quick and space and tables are ample. The meat cuts are plenty, always go with Kalbi, spicy pork, jap chae appetizer. Of course you also get plenty of banchan to supplement your meal! Will def come back again!
