One of my favorite work "go-to" spots. Chips and salsa are hearty and flavorful. Lunch specials are affordable and fast. As a vegetarian they are willing to alter any dish and substitute beans. The taco salad is fresh and crisp. Their cheese sauce is heavenly. They are always fast, efficient and kind. Don't judge a book by its cover, although it looks a little sketchy attached to a gas station, it is quite worth the stop inside! You won't be disappointed. Let me explain something to anyone who is considering this place for their next trip to a Mexican restaurant....My wife and I decided we were going to have take out one day and I decided that I wanted to try one of their "burritos" , horrible choice because cocos idea of a grande burrito which is what its called on their menu is an uninspired jumbled up mess of a large tortilla, steak, cheese and peppers! Oh and by the way do not mention the mind boggling idea of rice and beans inside the burrito, because "they only serve it on the side" which is another tasteless part of their menu who is only loved by people who either have never experienced authentic mexican cuisine or had their taste buds removed. Please do not be fooled by their reviews on yelp they are serving anything but good food! read more

We haven't always had the best experiences at Coco's. We had decided a few months ago to give this regular dinner spot - a break. Recently, we returned for the great food and convenient location they offer. Service just doesn't always match the quality of the food. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this place has such great reviews. Maybe because it's cheap? We came here on the recommendation of a friend, so perhaps our expectations were too high. I like to think I'm good at being objective about these things, but in the spirit of full disclosure, I have to say that I was expecting good food here. I would also like to say that I spent 10 years in the restaurant business, working at a variety of restaurants, and I understand the challenges that businesses face. I try very hard to be evenhanded in my Yelp reviews. I don't blame a server for slow service if the restaurant is busy, I always assume the best about the staff's intentions, and I NEVER, repeat, NEVER judge an establishment harshly in order to exact "revenge" for a bad experience. But Coco's Cafe is TERRIBLE. Let me be clear: in 30 years of eating Mexican food, I have never had anything this bad. If you have never eaten good Mexican food in your life, never seen a picture or video of good Mexican food, I could maybe see how you would consider Coco's food good. But the truth is, it's an overcooked, over salted, dry, flavorless nightmare. The tortilla chips were the best part of the meal. NOT the salsa, but plain tortilla chips with salt. That was the best thing I tasted while I was there. I got a sampler platter type dish that came with a beef taco, a pork tamale, a chalupa and a side of "melted cheese". I was expecting the melted cheese to be some kind of queso fundido type dish, but it turned out to be a sad puddle of unseasoned Velveeta with a skin on top. Plain Velveeta, with nothing in it. The chalupa was cold, flavorless, and messy. It tasted like Great Value canned refried beans spread atop a stale Ortega taco shell. The pork tamale was flavorless pork jerky enrobed in a dried-out corn muffin. And the taco? Taco Bell's plain, basic tacos are better--and I HATE Taco Bell. The taco beef was like eating chewy salt. The side of rice tasted like it was cooked in plain, unsalted water, and then sat under a heat lamp for two days. The salsa that came with the chips tasted like onion-y ketchup. The margaritas tasted like sugar water (they were strong though, I gotta give them credit there). Everything we ate or drank tasted like it came out of a can, and was reheated under a heat lamp or in a microwave. I would be very surprised if anything I ate had actually touched a stove. I have never eaten such abominable sludge in my life. The service was adequate. No complaints, but no special commendations either. Our order came in a reasonable amount of time and our drinks were always full. The bill for two dinners and three rounds of margaritas was under $50, so Coco's is definitely a frugal dinner option. And it's worth every penny. read more

the food at COCO's is as good as it gets in Arkansas... and the Margaritas are awesome! THey have happy hour every day 2-5.. even on Sunday... not a far drive to get a good meal and great drinks! The outside patio is my favorite place to enjoy.. hopefully soon they can get a live band to play on weekends... that would make an already great place better. read more
