My son and I ordered for the first time last night, looking to try something different. The food was amazing. He's a big fan of Chipotle (I am NOT), but he said his diced angus steak burrito blows theirs out of the water. This was after the first bite and he reaffirmed that after he wolfed it down. My Bistec Encebollado (Steak & Onions) was so tender and seasoned just right. The portion was big for the price and I couldn't finish it. My son wolfed that down too, robbing me of the joy of leftovers for lunch today. He ate his too fast for me to get a photo but here's the Bistec Encebollado. I have a dairy allergy, so it looks kinda boring but there were plenty of options I chose to skip. The beef didn't need it! It's a small place but online ordering was super easy and it was ready in 20 min as advertised. There are only a handful of tables but they're really cool wood creations and there's a great vibe. The staff was very friendly as I watched them deal with some pretty indecisive people in front of me. Had a really disappointing experience at Cocorays. I ordered several items, hoping to try a variety of their menu, but unfortunately most of the food was either overcooked, burnt, or completely lacking flavor. The birria ramen was especially disappointing--it had almost no flavor, and the ramen itself wasn't even cooked properly. The birria tacos were also burnt, which made them hard to enjoy. Overall, a lot of the food I ordered was simply not edible. The only things that were okay were the horchata and the canned soda--everything else missed the mark. For the prices being charged, I expected much better quality. Sadly, this experience did not live up to expectations at all. read more

You got to try this spot out if you're in the area. It's so delicious. I've been multiple times and it does not disappoint. The owner is also always behind the counter working and it's great to see. You can feel the love inside that place. There is a parking lot and some tables inside if you want to eat there. I've eaten both inside and taken it to go. It hits the spot. A hidden gem! I finally got to try Cocorays! Hidden on Parker St, in an small strip plaza, this slightly like Taco's Lupita. It is a tacoria and offers burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, tortas, and more. You stand in line and pick your rice (3 choices), meat (steak, chicken, pernil, vegs, more) and then toppings. One guy at the front was super friendly but the younger girl that did the topping, was just the oppisite. A decent portion. I ordered one of there almost $9 smoothies along with another order. I received parts of my order but not the smoothie. Called the restaurant the guy on the phone was very curt. He said yea that is not our fault. I said well someone could have made sure the u er driver picked up the smoothie. He said they have a slip to know what they should take. Just rude and caddy. After hearing our friend brag about the 'best taco place in town' for months, we finally convinced him to bring it over to Danvers for us to try. Ok, I will admit it, he was right! So I was in the area and got a recommendation for CocoRay's! So I headed over and decided to try a few items on the menu. Three tacos one two steak and one pork. I told them to put everything on it! The red hot sauce is fire! I'm telling you as I ate I could feel the love in the food. I almost stood up and did a little Salsa and Huapango dance at the same time. The service was amazing too all the staff were very helpful. Don't forget grab a Parcha or Horchata. I bought both and the beverages are made in house too. They weren't too sweet. I got the birria ramen to go which I haven't tried yet! If you are in the area you have to give it a try. I'll be back soon to try the Torta. Lastly, I almost forget the tostones. I ordered Tostones and bistec, no rice. The service person could not understand not wanting rice even after offering to pay the price of the bowl with just bistec and a side of tostones. Tostones were old and hard I can tell they were re-cooked. The bistec was actually pulled pork. My Co-worker ordered the Ramen there was no broth and it turned in one big sludge. Super friendly and welcoming service (we think it was the owner). Constantly someone in line around 1 p on a Friday afternoon but the line moved quickly mostly due to the efficiency of the server. As we were dining here, we read the a Yelp reviews and many that thought the prices were not reasonable. We found it to be exactly the opposite. Bowls average around $7 with an up charge for guacamole and cheese but the up charge was really minor. We had two bowls: a pork shoulder one and a combination one with 1/2 chorizo and 1/2 pork shoulder plus 3 mini tacos ($1 each) and two bottles of water for about $25. We were very pleased with the taste and the quality of our bowls and for $1 a taco, they were well worth the tasting. We're fans and will be back! read more

Stumbled upon this place while in a serious mood for Mexican/Latin. Empanadas, papusas, tacos, tortas, tostones--their menu went on and I was sold. I ordered the deep-fried haddock taco, veggie burrito, and guava empanada, and my boyfriend had the pastor burrito (with pinapple marinated pork, yum). Everything was so fresh and delicious that we ended up housing all of it in one sitting. Kudos to Coco Rays for an amazing food experience. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more

Wife and I stopped in on a weekday for a late lunch, and we found the joint via Yelp. Thank goodness it wasn't busy-- we needed some time to figure out what to order. I was about to order "perr-nill", but thank goodness my bride caught me: "It's per-nee!!" Thanks, Babe. The staff was helpful and restrained while we decided. We settled on the pernil-- that is, the per-nee and a quesadilla. Food was absolutely delicious.. all of it. I loved the red hot sauce. Quesadilla was stacked full of food and the bowl was bright-tasting-- every ingredient was evident in the dish. We couldn't stop eating. Loved all the choices and again have to thank the staff for their patience and explanations. Finally, we also learned while there that the restaurant had started as a food truck. That's awesome. I forgot to order it in my bowl my mistake but I didn't think it would be big deal to get the scoop of rice on the side because the price is exactly the same with or with out it. Concept: Amazing. Execution: lacking. I wish I could do two reviews, one based solely on the food and the other based on the service. I have been to this establishment about 5 or 6 times and for the most part my food has been great. I have had almost everything on the menu, chicken tacos; pernil; papas locas; chorizo torta; empanadas; alcapurias...what can I say, I gotta try them all! I usually order an al pastor gringa (which runs about $3) and a chorizo tostada. I definitely recommend the gringas and tostada. The chicken in the chicken tacos needed more seasoning. The alcapurias are very skinny and both time I've had them they have been over cooked/ burnt. Now onto service. I've realized I know what to expect as soon as i get in. While friendly, they're extremely unorganized and have made numerous errors while completing my order. If it's busy in there, expect to have a long wait and to have go through each item individually to ensure it was fulfilled correctly. read more
