I'm happy to promote this establishment, because our visit was absolutely delightful. We had just finished dinner at Chicken Salad Chick (shameless plug, I know, but trust me, it's good, too) and decided to poke our heads in to see what Cocoon Coffee was all about. I sure wish they'd been around when I was in college! I realize it was exam week, but it was "quietly busy." Very warm, inviting, comfortable atmosphere for me, but I could also tell there was quite a bit of homeworking going on all around. The barista was priceless, funny - but not forced, cute as could be, and just made us feel like we were the only customers she had. She served us quickly, and made casual conversation as she did. Couldn't ask for better. The coffee was bold, and served at just the right temperature. The shop itself is larger than most, but offers several workstations if you need to work solo. Hard to think of anything good in my experience there, other than their willingness to refund my money before I left. Billed as a work-friendly environment, it's too wide-open and exposed. The chairs are the wrong height for the higher tables so typing is an unergonomic uncomfortable proposition. Maybe they're okay for conversation. Anyway I tried one of the lower tables, where the chairs were the right height but made with a cold industrial steel design. Not comfortable. The cinnamon roll I got was stale and served with no fork. When I asked for a fork the barista didn't know where to find one -- but then she made lattes for two other customers before she went to look for one. That was when I decided it was time to leave. From there I went to Kidd Coffee where I should have gone in the first place. Ordered a larger coffee than the one I left behind at Cocoon, and another cinnamon roll, since I hadn't eaten but two bites of the other one. The roll was bigger, warmer, much fresher, and the total was about 85¢ less. read more

A really disappointing experience! I hate to give 1-star reviews, but my experience was dreadful! There was only one customer in front of me, but it must have taken 20-25 minutes to get "coffee" that was shockingly bad. The young lady behind the counter was friendly, and that alone is usually worth a second star, but not in this case. As the young lady worked on the other customer's order, she said she'd be with me shortly. Pretty sure she needs a refresher on the definition of shortly. And before she took my order, a mother (?) and her two teenagers (?) came into the store. After I placed my order, a car pulled up to the window, and she went right to the window and took that order. Then she took the order of the mother inside. After 5 minutes, the young lady opened the window and handed the driver his drink. Then she started working on mine. The mother kept looking at me, seemingly to see if I was going to complain. I didn't. Another driver pulled up, and the young lady again opened the window and took that person's more complicated order. Another 10 minutes probably went by, and the young lady inexplicably (again) took the tray of drinks to the driver. By this time, the mother was purposely and repeatedly complaining to her kids, loud enough for the barista to hear, though it clearly didn't change anything. It still seemed to take forever. When I finally got my iced coffee, I rushed out to my car and drove to pick up my wife (late). When I tasted the drink, it was absolutely horrible, almost laughably so. How can such a tiny expensive drink taste NOTHING like coffee or any other flavor?!? It was essentially ice water with some kind of very slight yuck flavor! Not an exaggeration! The "coffee" was horrendous, too expensive for the size, and painfully slow to get. My biggest issue is that the owner clearly trains her barista(s) to serve the drive-thru window before customers actually in the cafe, in my view breaking a cardinal rule of any service industry . . . Best coffeeshop in Mason for people who want to get work done. Good coffee at reasonable prices. The work spaces are very large and there are extension cords all throughout the coffeeshop and near every workspace, but it blends in and is not an eyesore, but allows for convenience throughout. Fast wifi and incredibly friendly baristas. I come here all the time from Oxford to be able to get some of my schoolwork done and have a great coffee. read more

Finally, real quality coffee! This is NOT Starbucks or McDonald's-grade coffee. This is the 'go to Europe and drink proper-coffee' kind of coffee! If you are fond of a good latte, you don't want to miss out on this place. I personally don't think I've ever had a properly prepared latte in Cincinnati until now. I love that if I have my latte there, it's served in real china, not a paper cup (it's the little things that count). They also offer a really interesting collection of pastries which are handmade by a local baker. I've tried the lemon raspberry tart & I would definitely have it again. This business has areas that are reserved for 'members', which is basically daily, weekly, or monthly workspace for local professionals. Good option if you don't have a home office & need a space to meet with clients or use the office resources. Comfy chairs & high-top tables for the rest of us. Staff is very friendly and seem to know their craft well. Drive thru and loyalty program available. Good location, but I do hope they can grow to open other locations around the greater Cincy area. read more

New coffee place in Mason-West Chester area. Very bright and spacious. Friendly staff. Tried the lavender vanilla latte... yummy! (Nice to see a more unusual featured drink!) Half the layout is devoted to workspace I think people can rent -Interesting concept! There is plenty of general seating as well. As I said the space is really big. A few soft chairs but mostly chairs and tables. Based on the quality of the coffee drink I will put Cocoon Coffee in my rotation!! We need more places like this in this area!! read more

Awesome, locally owned coffee shop. There is also a an assortment of pastries and a nice area to sit and enjoy your order. I was happy that the barista knew what I wanted when I ordered a macchiato. Cocoon Coffee is right by my house so I had to pop in for a visit. Cute little spot. Staff was nice and helpful. My latte was great. I also got a peanut butter chocolate donut - yum! I believe it was dairy and gluten free (all their donuts are I believe). It sounds like the rotate out their bakery items with local places which I love! I do wish they had hot food (like a breakfast sandwich) you can get would be my only complaint. Expect to just get a pastry and coffee. It seems like a great place to meet up with a small group. This coffee shop is spectacular. The environment is absolutely sure perfection. The place is huge compared to that other coffee shop that starts with an "S". Many different options for seating which is so nice & different than many other places. I have a favorite chair and am always delighted when I come in and its available!! The barista, Karah, greeted me warmly with a smile as I walked in the door. She immediately came over to the register to take my order. She asked if I wanted a cookie or scone to go with my order, which I didn't even realize you had. I ordered the cookie to go with my latte. I could tell by the way this barista paid attention to detail in making my latte that it was going to be good. It was! I have been back many times and will continue to come back. read more

This quiet, spacious coffee house is so much better than Starbucks, it's a place one wants to hang out in for a few hours. Very welcoming, lots of comfy chairs and work spaces, plus device charging outlets. It serves Stumptown coffee, arguably the best roaster in the States. First time here, and while the decaf vanilla latte was delicious, I had two areas of concern: 1.) the price - nearly $6 for a 16 oz iced latte seemed excessive for suburban Ohio - those are NYC prices. 2.) Hearing/reading that this was a place focused on people working/studying, etc. while they enjoyed the coffee, I was shocked to hear music blaring from a speaker the entire half hour I was there, making it difficult to focus on reading. I can't imagine how folks work from here and are able to concentrate. I think a nice quiet atmosphere would be more in line with the reading/studying/working crowd. read more

I've never felt so awkward in a coffee shop in my life. It's a very quiet, modern, academic space with place to work which is nice for some, but they discourage noise so much that there are actually booths to take phone calls. Was going to meet a friend here but it seemed so unfriendly to conversation that we're taking our business elsewhere. Felt more like a library than a cafe. No patio seating. read more

I got an iced lavender vanilla latte and it was pretty good. I went back the next day and paid almost $6 for an iced coffee with vanilla syrup. I try to support independents whenever possible, but $6 for iced coffee is too rich for my blood. Not sure I'll be back. read more

We went here and I ordered the iced green tea. It was hot tea put over ice with one teabag. It looked clear and tasted awful. On top of that, we are gluten free and we were looking for gluten free options. They had two kinds of donuts gf. The name sounded good, but they were out of both of them. Stopped in here mid day to get an iced coffee. They said they have cold brew and then proceeded to tell me the difference incorrectly. I already knew the difference. So I ordered a cold brew and it was SO strong, even after cream was added. I almost asked for skin milk or something to dilute it. There was barely any ice in my cup either.
