Besides getting a thorough exam and glasses I can see perfectly out of, I had an incident where I had something in my left eye. It was an emergency and she took me right away and found a thread in my eye and took it out. She prescribed me steroid drops and will see me again. Got my annual eye exam here....seemed like standard exam. Dr asked if I wanted my eyes dilated, which I respond no since I was driving. Found out that my insurance was charged for complete exam including dilation. Ordered my new glasses at Costco where I always get them, and the technician stated that my stigmatism was missing from RX‍. Went ahead and ordered glasses and sure enough I can't see correctly . Now I have to get a new exam but thankfully Costco will redo at no charge. read more

About 30 seconds later he had fixed them back to perfect, like brand new. Of course it wasn't really magic, it was skill and experience for sure. I was looking for a place to get my 7 year old daughter's eyes examined, as she told me she was having trouble reading the board in school. Found this place online, called and they take my insurance, so I made an appointment. Best decision I could have made. Always greeted with a smile, they are very welcoming and were very nice to me and my family. Ended up getting glasses for my wife here as well. Last week, my daughter broke the arm off her glasses. I returned to the store, proverbial checkbook in hand, to get the glasses repair. They repaired the glasses at no charge, re-adjusted them to make sure they fit my daughter perfectly.. and when Rob noticed the glasses weren't quite fitting in her glass case, he provided her a new one that would protect the glasses. While I myself don't need glasses (LASIK surgery years ago), I'll be bringing my daughter and wife here for all future eye-related things! read more

I developed an eye infection that I had for over a week and the OTC eye drops were not working. On Monday I showed up at Coconut Creek Optical without an appointment. The lady advised that Dr. Marder had an appointment, but she would see if he could squeeze me in. He saw me and took me in right away. The visit was quick and efficient. Turns out I had pink eye. He was as always very pleasant and helpful. He prescribed eye drops, which helped alleviate my pink eye right away. I am so grateful to him, because I was miserable. I feel a lot better. What I liked was that he saw me without an appointment. My family has been going to his office for several years and are very happy with the service. the employees that work there are a little somber, but helpful. read more

I did not even get to visit the location. It is a perfect location as I attend the dentist and dr office right next door. However when I attempted to make an appointment for a family of 4 three weeks from today they refused me. Stated I had to split up the appointments and on do two one day and two another day. This is ridiculous as a mother who works full time kids have after school activities I try to do all doctor's appointments in one day. I do not have time to split up. When I asked if this is a personal preference or insurance issue they stated person preference as people have missed appointments and made them wait around for hours. You should not penalize others because your business chose to not take a no show fee or because of others. Some places try to force you to pay the most, but they explained the differences in the frames and let me decide. I went back a few weeks after I got my new glasses, since I wasn't sure they were adjusted right. It turns out everything had been okay, but they were so courteous and nice and just wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied. Called on the first of the month to have my prescription sent to a new eye doctor (I moved states). At the end of the week, I had called to confirm my prescription was faxed, it was not sent. I requested to please fax the prescription again and a few days later found that it was not received by my new eye doctor. Needless to say it has been 10 days since I called the original time. Very frustrating to order $300 glasses and not be able to wear them, especially when you have an office job and wearing contacts every day becomes uncomfortable. Still in the process of having them fax my information. Communication was very poor, despite the fact I have had to call 5 times. Would have been nice to receive a call back from them confirming the sent prescription, or better, a call to the new eye doctor so that I would not have to keep interrupting my work scheduled to be the middle-man. read more

My husband and I went to coconut creek optical to get glasses for our 1 year old baby girl. Janice and Bob were nice to us at the beginning and once we picked a framed they were pushy for us to get the lenses through them instead of using our insurance, we thought that was a little sketchy but paid no major attention to that. Once they sent the frame to the insurance lab to get the lenses done, the lab lost the frame. We completely understand that was the lab's fault and not coconut creek optical; however, after 2 weeks of knowing this and not reporting it to us and being requested by the insurance to send another frame and being assured they will get Reimburse for the one they lost, they REFUSED to do it and rejected any calls or possible solutions from the insurance company leaving my baby without glasses just because, I quote Bob's words "frankly, I want them to look for the frame a little longer" meanwhile my baby is still in need of glasses that we already paid for. In conclusion they don't care at all about their patients, even when they are little babies that need to see the world around them. I will never recommend anyone to go there. read more
