Our experience at South Florida Vision in Delray Beach was unfortunately very disappointing. I came in with my two daughters, and despite arriving on time for our appointment, we waited nearly 2 hours before being seen. The office feels extremely high-volume, and instead of receiving personalized attention, patients seem to be processed as quickly as possible. Once we were finally seen, the appointment itself felt rushed because the doctor appeared to be running far behind schedule. Communication between the doctor, optical staff, and reception also seemed very disorganized, which created confusion throughout the visit. I was especially frustrated by the lack of clear communication from the front desk regarding insurance coverage and protection plans for glasses. On two separate occasions, staff failed to mention available protection options for the frames. Later, when the frames broke, I was forced to pay out of pocket because no protection plan had been added or properly explained to us at the time of purchase. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the staff made me feel as though it was somehow my mistake for not having protection coverage, even though I was never offered or informed about it in the first place. Instead of taking accountability for the lack of communication, the responsibility was shifted onto me as the customer. Customer service, organization, and communication need significant improvement. Families coming in for care should not feel rushed, overlooked, blamed for unclear policies, or left confused about important insurance and eyewear coverage details. read more

We've been trying to call the Margate office of South Florida Vision all morning, you leave a callback number & they call you and then they hang up on you. I called again and they say the hold time is three minutes, and 15 minutes later they never came on the phone, so I gave up. I don't understand why you have to sign in to pick up glasses then sit and wait for someone to help at a store that's so slow.

Brought my mother to the Margate store. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to read the reviews first. Received a text that glasses were ready and to come pick them up. Called the store to verify and was told she was never there at the Margate store and she was maybe seen at the Deerfield Beach store. I was with her when we went to the Margate store so I have no idea why they're so confused over there. I tried calling back so I can get an email to send the receipt to them so I can confirm to them that we were there. No answer after calling several times during the day. Now I'm wondering if we're ever going to get the glasses that were ordered as promised. Also, the place looks very run down. Don't think we'll be going there again and I will be speaking to my moms doctor who recommended this place. Going to ask for a refund if they don't call within the next day. My husband and I brought my father in law here for a vision test and later to pick up his vision glasses. This was painless and I was bit scared because of so many bad reviews. But both visits we did not experience any wait longer than 5-10 minutes or bad customer service. Yes they are busy but someone acknowledged us right away and asked if we had a appointment etc. My father in law had made the appointment over the phone and was happy he made it here. They took good care of him and made sure he was happy with his glasses. They also gave detailed instructions how to wear them and if he had any problems to give them a call back. So far it's been about two weeks since he has been wearing glasses and he has no problems. I'm happy that they treated him great because he has health issues and I'm glad he wasn't stressed out here at all throughout his two visits.~ read more

This Vision Center was excellent when handling my 83 old mother who has Alzheimer's. The staff for the doctor was the best. The opticians were patient and very friendly. Like all doctors that I have had to deal with the doctor needs better bedside manner when dealing with people with dementia and or Alzheimer's. It is a misunderstood condition and they're not taught anything about that in medical school. His staff made up for it 100%. They were patient understanding kind and friendly. read more

Went for an appointment, normally something that would take 30 minutes ended up being 2 hours hours because they started seeing walk-ins in between each appointment . I had an appointment which means I took the time to tell you I was going to be there, they decided to do 1 appointment than switch to walk-ins and vice versea every time It was time to talk to the guy that helps you pick out your glasses, this is what made the appointment long. It took me 10 minutes to pick out my glasses and leave I should not have had to wait for several walk ins to finish up after I took the time to make an appointment, just seems like simple business . I should not have waited 2 hours just to finish picking out something I already knew I wanted, I even asked reception to just order the glasses because I had work and knew what I wanted, but reception told me it would take days to get in just to pick glasses. I did not want to have to come back and relive the expirence. They had one person working if they're gonna be taking walk-ins and they need a second person whose job it is to deal with walk ins! I thought in business appointments, take priority over walkins.I ordered my glasses and three weeks past going to be 4 in 2 days and I've been trying to get in contact with this business and it took me calling eight times and leaving four voicemails for me to finally get through to somebody- just for them to tell me that their calls go to a call center sometimes, she than told me my glasses are processing and I should get them in two days but after reading these reviews, I fear that I won't be getting them for the next few months. read more

I ordered my daughters glasses 1/30/17. It's 3/28/17 and I still don't have glasses. I just get the run around. Their excuse is that the frame we ordered was on back order. I would never recommend this place. My daughter had her glasses less than a year and when she came home from school the arm of it was broken, when i brought the glasses there to get fixed the guy that adjust the glasses told me they can't get fixed and i would have to buy another pair there. First of all he didn't even try to fix them he just looked at them and told me there was nothing he could do and to buy another one. The next day i went to Walmart and i stopped in the eye center to see if they could take a look at them the eye doctor at Walmart fixed them in 5 minutes and didn't even charge me. My (17 yr old son) and I had exams (I actually love dr rockower !) on the same day I had to go but left my son to get his glasses covered by insurance because I have been out of work recently had a heart attack which they were aware ! I started new job and the hours are so inconvenient even if you can get someone to answer the telephone! I swear the have it on a loop it rarely rings in the office and for giggles I called while I was there it went to voicemail ! Anyways, I am aware how selling up selling eyeglasses is done however when some has a budget they shouldn't be pressured to purchase something especially knowing your clients can't afford it! My son told me he has a stigmatism" and needs these lenses that cost 150$ they ordered them of course if he needed them then by all means however I couldn't purchase them for a month to save money and they are aware of it!! My son gets his new glasses and guess what he needed the glasses that change when you go indoor to outdoor !!!! Talk about bullshit being taken advantage of !! I went to order mine because I was off work and of course after listening to her talk some Elderly person into buying something she originally didn't want I told her upfront I am getting my perscription only lol of course she had to try and for giggles I just let her ramble as I tried on every pair and turned and said I told I am Not getting anything extra she then said the sr ordered those I said I don't have to have bifocals I can use reading glasses I hate it but I can't afford it and I would rather spend the $200 on contacts !! There was a man weeding and the salesgirl next to us is said to the girl helping me oh he wants to talk to you only because I gave him different prices than you had already given him apparently. My grandfather went here in February 2020 and as of June 1st we are still waiting for his glasses. No one ever answers the phone, the store has a sign that it has been closed since March 24th due to CV19. Meanwhile, FL is fully open yet this store remains closed. It is unbelievable that they would make my grandfather wait for his glasses and we have no idea even when they are to open - even if they open. I do not recommend this place based on my experience. I went for an eye exam because my 4.0 prescription was no good anymore and the optometrist determined that I needed a 4.5 contact lense instead of the 4.0 that I was using. A week later I called and the new contacts had arrived so I stopped by and to my surprise they said I can't get them until I see the optometrist again. So, I have to wait one more week without seeing clearly because I need to make an appointment again. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS! read more

Doctors here are nice, but service is terrible. Mainly one of the opticians. They did not input my dad's order for glasses and we didn't realize it until I called weeks later and they had no record. Then we came to pick up another pair for my mom and they had switched the frames we picked. Thank goodness we had taken a photo and said this isn't the one we picked, or we would have gotten a different frame from the one we ordered. I called in to come back to re do the other glasses order and they said no appointment needed, just come before three. Then we arrive at 1 and they said come back at 2, sorry we didn't tell you we don't do glasses until then. What? That's important to let people know. Later when we came back at 2, the waiting rooms were both full so I went up front to look at frames and wait and she came over and in an irritated tone said you can't be up here. And cited HIPPAA. Aren't the frames there for you to browse and pick? How am I violating HIPPAA? So rude. But we waited. Then it was our turn and she asked to look at my dad's prescription that he brought in from the other optician and my dad said to her "I need to keep that" and she refused to hand it to him. She held it away from him and motioned for the other optician to take it instead. What in the world? Took my granny here to see an eye doctor because she needed new glasses. I will never take her back here again. The only doctor she liked her moved to a different location which I might take her to next time. The people here have to consideration for anyone and are very rude to the patients. No bedside manner at all. I wish this place was good because it is so close but unfortunately it is not. I'm sorry to say this is the worst experience I ever had at a vision center. From beginning to end the staff, especially the receptionist was rude and irritated that I needed to return my new glasses for an adjustment. The doctor also seemed annoyed, however, the technician who does the initial vision screening is friendly and efficient. When I called to inquire if my glasses were in yet after almost 2 weeks, once again I was treated rudely and told not yet. Although they said they would check on the order I asked them to please call me back to give me some idea as I need them. Got a big fat no they'll call only when they come in. It's a real shame that this establishment has "gone down the drain" after a couple years!! I've taken my daughter to this establishment because it was a very convenient location, but after the incident that we've received, we will be going somewhere else! If the business make any changes in their pricing, policies, etc., they should have advised people in advance so we can decide if we want to do business with them or go somewhere else. In mid Nov., I called for an appointment for an eye exam so I could get reading glasses. This 1st available opening was 12/6 at 2 PM. I made it a point to say that I would be coming on my lunch hour. I waited over 30 minutes for the exam, (The Dr. was very good - no complaints there) then another approximately 30 minutes after the exam. I finally spoke to one of the staff because, well, a lunch hour is an HOUR! I quickly picked out frames that were included in my plan & paid for the exam & glasses. I was told that it would be about a week & 1/2 before they were ready. When 2 weeks had lapsed, I finally called the office. After being transferred to 2 people I finally spoke to a very nice woman who apologized because "the frames were defective" and glasses had to be reordered.Yesterday I got a text that the glasses were in so I decided to pick them up on my lunch hour. I arrived at 2:50 & was told to wait as there were people ahead of me. I commented that I had already waited additional time since the glasses were late in arriving. At 3:25, I could no longer wait. I spoke to the receptionist and asked if I could please just get the glasses. They are just readers. She couldn't get them. I then asked if I could make an appointment (not that having an appointment helps) for picking up the glasses. No. Of course not. So I'm not sure when I will be able to get the glasses. Maybe they can mail them & credit my account to compensate for my time and aggravation. read more
