First time here in Marco Island and we found this great spot to have late lunch's Abbey was our waitress and she was very sweet and very attentive and helpful. She took care of 13 of us and we all were happy campers. We recommended this place to our other family members who hadn't arrived yet. The bean ham soup is very close to Frijoles Charros (if you're Mexican then you know.) The complimentary buttered bread is phenomenal. Just don't eat so much bc you'll spoil your actual meal. The chicken sandwich is super big and the chicken is so juicy and crispy - two can enjoy this if cut in half. Nice quiet place and the inside is simple very enjoyable read more

My family and I went fishing and decided to bring in our winnings to Cocomo's. Wow, wow, wow! Absolutely amazing! We brought in 25 oz. of shark and whiting and were told we could have it done 4 ways and each guest could have their own side dish. We decided on fried, Jamaican jerk, blackened and jalapeño encrusted. My stepdad got fries, mom wanted veggies and ya girl had to get the sweet potato waffle fries. Hand to god, I will live and die by jalapeño encrusted! I will name my first born Jalapeño Encrusted, that is how good it is, I highly recommend! It's the perfect blend of flavor and heat. I'm not a tartar sauce girly, but this tartar sauce gave me a hint of garlic aoli mixed with traditional tartar sauce vibes. It was so delicious, I caught myself dipping fries in it! If you're looking for a place that redefines inconvenience, Cocomos really delivers. Let's start with the restroom situation--apparently, you have to exit the building entirely just to use it, which is a fun little adventure no one asked for. And when you finally get there? You're greeted with a bathroom door so light and flimsy it feels like it was installed as a joke rather than for actual privacy. Service was... memorable, but not in a good way. Our waitress had an attitude that made it seem like we were personally inconveniencing her by existing. Always a great touch when you're trying to enjoy a night out. And the drinks? Warm beer. Nothing says "quality establishment" quite like being served something that tastes like it's been sitting out all day. All in all, if the goal was to combine awkward design, poor service, and basic mistakes into one experience--mission accomplished. We went for lunch on 12/30. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. My soup was warm at best, not hot. Flavor was good though. Kids meals do not come with drinks, so that can add up in price fast. They were severely understaffed. Our waitress was polite and did the best she could. I think she was the only one in the dining. It felt like a family style bar and restaurant. Travelers beware - LOCALS no better! With so many restaurants on the island don't get caught up in this trap as it is the TRUE epitome of "a tourist trap." The food is LESS than average AND the price points are indicative of a REAL "tourist trap" as they are DOUBLE what they are worth! Paying top dollar is NO PROBLEM - but not for substandard food that comes out cold & half fried! The fish was the worst grouper I have ever tasted in my lifetime- NOT KOSHER! As a business owner I am a huge staunch supporter of small business - in this case it would be a disservice to this business not to call it out! I understand the rapid employee turnover as well as the challenges restaurants face to stay Float--albeit, their is NO EXCUSE for the fish OR fries to have left the kitchen!! VERY DISAPPOINTING & SAD! *NOTE The server did her ultimate best to mitigate the kitchen disaster - she was exceptional and it is absolutely no fault of hers! She was great! Great service, food, and price! My boyfriend and I came right at open and were seated immediately. Drinks and food came out within 15 minutes. We got a taco salad with chicken, philly cheesesteak with fries, sweet tea, and a beer for ~$40 before tip. Great price for what we got in my opinion! Our server was friendly, made sure to check on us and offer suggestions. There's plenty of seating, natural lighting, a bar, and tv's if you want to watch the game. The groupers and hamburger had no salt. As in none. The fish fillets were alright, but for $33 each, we expected a bit more, and we expected it to be a bit fresher. The coconut shrimp and chowder tasted a bit acidic. It was overwhelming and the only seasoning. The hamburger, well it takes a lot to make a hamburger tasteless, but that was achieved. Overall? Good little Happy Hour on Marco Island!!!! They offer Tri color chips and salsa that is sooo good. We had the sliders and they were big and delicious. While on vacation my husband caught some fish and we took it to Cocomo's and did the U Hook It We Cook It meal deal and it was delicious! Depending on how many ounces you bring in you can get the fish cooked up 4 different styles, we chose fried, francaise, jalapeno encrusted and Blackened with key lime buerre blanc sauce and salsa. We always go to our favorites restaurants when we visit Marco Island. I have read good things about Cocomos, so we decided to try this restaurant. My husband and I both ordered the blackened grouper sandwiches last night. They were the worst fish sandwich we ever had anywhere! The grouper was so very small. It was paper thin and was dry. This is my first, and hopefully last review, but I'm just so angry. I ordered a carry out order which included the calamari appetizer. The picture attached is what I received. There's barely anything there. I immediately called to speak with the manager. The response that the manager gave to me was "that they do it by weight, and he bagged it himself"'. I order calamari quite frequently so this is absolutely ridiculous, and then having the manager tell me he weighed it so he is right. With all the restaurants on Marco Island, the competitiveness is pretty high. With that being said, I will continue to go to the places who treat customers as if they were always right, (especially when they are paying the correct amount for the food, but not receiving the correct amount). All the fish taste fishy every time we go we keep trying to give it another go there, but it's just doesn't taste right I think the fish is frozen to be honest. Very expensive for dinner entrées that are not great but if you're going with a group for lunch and want snack kind of food like nachos, sandwiches, seafood chowder etc. it's fine. We were able to stop by here 2 times this past week - the food is still good / the new location .....I'm a fan of the previous location just due to the bar being more intimate. I get that the new location has better parking, more seating, and and outdoor but I'm still partial to the old location. Its mostly the bar area - its too bright and feels too sterile. BUT the staff (some of which we recognized from years past) VERY nice, efficient and the food - SO GOOD. Both times we got the tuna nachos - they really are the best. The first night we had the Thai grouper special - SO GOOD! The next visit we shared the potstickers (suprisingly good) and the lettuce wraps. Abby was an amazing server, menu knowledge was astonishing. As a server myself, I was mega impressed and took notes. We got the loaf of bread, highly recommend (get the half load unless there's 8 of you). I got a side of the key lime beurre blanc to dip the bread - very good. This was a very family friendly restaurant with nice workers! I liked the decorations in the restaurant. It was pretty packed for a Wednesday dinner night! Our food came out pretty fast and I highly recommend the garlic bread as an appetizer! The pina colada was a bit on the unsweet side but it was still good. I really liked the oriental sampler!
