She was organized and very helpful, with excellent suggestions on everything from floral suggestions (using arch flowers as centerpieces, using bridesmaid bouquets at the head table) to hair and makeup recommendations (Mai Tokioka was truly as fantastic as she said) to restaurant recommendations. Sarah offered to receive packages at her home so we didn't have to overload our suitcases bringing things over from Canada, and also offered to print our welcome board, seating chart and display photos. This made life so much easier for us. Because of renovations at our wedding venue, we weren't able to stay there and had to stay across the street at a sister hotel. Sarah ensured that we weren't inconvenienced by having her assistants help move our things from room to room, and made sure nothing got lost. On the day of the wedding, Sarah had 2 assistants to ensure the day ran smoothly. One assistant was very sweet and followed me around to ensure I had everything I needed and helped with my dress for photos. The other assistant so kindly ran around from hotel to hotel when I forgot my garter and other things. Sarah herself made sure everything was perfect, including music, cake florals, name plates, guest sign-in table, and even helped set up the electric keyboard I requested so I could play a song just before my processional. I could go on and on about Sarah, but suffice to say, if you need the most perfect vendor, you should definitely choose her from Engaging Moments.

Sarah took care of our "day of planning" which was actually 2 months out because we just wanted the final details taken care of as we had prebooked out the majority of our vendors (photography, DJ, lion dance, cloud effect, photobooth etc). She reached out a little prior to to our 2 month out timeline start date. Here we had meetings to check in with our DJ about music, and met a few times in person to ensure the flowers, song choices and ceremony were all in check. Just before the wedding, we met and she took our guest sign in book, table signs, seating chart, pens, etc. Bascially and literally took everything off our hands. Hiromi, her assistant helped during the big day and helped me change in our room to a shorter reception dress. Both of them deserve the biggest praise for helping our dream wedding come true. Thank you Sarah and Hiromi!!! Now, this isn't even covering the flowers portion. In addition to "Day of Planning" we also booked Engaging Moments for our arch flowers and wedding reception flowers which were alternating tall and short flower arrangements. They did not use the floral foam or handle like a cascading bouquet typically has. Due to this my bouquet was so awkward to hold and soooo heavy. It was also almost all roses which is not what I asked for. It was pretty at least. I had paid for a medium scattering of petals down the aisle and it was a very light scattering, nothing like the pictures shown to me. Severely over priced for the service and quality. We paid a little over $2800 for florals.

My father said Yvonne's work was more beautiful than the floral at my brother's wedding on the mainland. Two years later, the flowers from my ceremony still look breathtaking in pictures. Tips on saving money: 1) Repurpose floral from the ceremony chuppah to the reception. 2) Requesting feminine instead of masculine leis, for the groomsmen, will save $30 per lei. 3) Purchase your own flower girl's basket from Michael's for $7 - $10. 4) Make sure the flowers in the bride's custom bouquet are the exact flower type used in the ceremony and reception. Flowers purchased in bulk will save $50 on the custom bouquet, including the Disney Aulani subsidy.

We live on the island and had the pleasure of meeting with Coco and Jacqueline before our big day at their beautiful waterfall home. We paid a $200 deposit online via PayPal to hold our date then paid the remaining balance a few weeks before our wedding date at their home. This gave us time to apply for our wedding license at the Department of Health DOH (about $13) downtown. Coco gave us guidance on the best times to go to the DOH to avoid long lines as we talked story on his porch. On our wedding day, everything was done for us and we just had to show up. We were married on Makapu'u. Coco played Over the Rainbow and the Hawaiian Wedding Song for us as he sang with his Ukulele. Our photographer, Dave was exceptional. We loved the way Coco officiated our wedding and our vows. His humor and his many Hawaiian blessings made it a beautiful wedding morning to remember. I really wanted to focus my time and energy on making the reception hall look magnificent and from the very beginning she just got my whole concept and executed things exactly the way I wanted. She had me send her examples of bouquets I liked, flowers I liked, flower colors, I sent her a sample of what I wanted my reception to look like and a sample of my invitation, everything possible so that she could really get my theme-- and boy did she get it! I gave her my budget and she worked with it and I got everything that I wanted (think calalillies, monzenita branches, philenopsis orchids, high vases, low vases, lots of bling, etc.). At the last minute I even said that I would like some sort of an arch for my ceremony and I told her I only had $500 for it and she said she could do it and in the end that was the best looking archway I've ever seen with monzenita branches with strands of white orchirds, strands of jewels, and strands with little glass ornaments with a single white orchid in them hanging down from the archway. EVERYONE, and I mean everyone, said that the floral arrangements were breathtaking and that everything looked so posh and luxuirous; that they've never been to a reception like ours before and I attribute this to her designs!
