This is the second location I have visited in the Wichita area. I have visited the downtown location as well as the Bradley fair location. Bradley Fair was much busier but they have some cute small tables outside to sit. Both times I've had great service and great chocolates. The chocolates are beautiful to look at and bursting full of flavor. As of this review, I have tried nine flavors of chocolates as well as two flavors of macarons. Please note, while flavorful, these are not my favorite macarons. I appreciate that they are gluten-free and they do have good flavor, I just don't enjoy their texture of the shell. I would recommend the chocolates any day of the week! I would recommend trying the raspberry, Manhattan, espresso, or pistachio! You really can't go wrong! read more

Stopped by here on a recent trip to Wichita to try their artisan chocolates, and they did not disappoint at all. I chose 3 pieces, lemon, bananas foster and pb&j. My least favorite was the PB&J, but still a very good piece of chocolate. Standard prices for artisan chocolate, I would say a bit pricey for Wichita. However, I would come here again to try other chocolates and pastries/desserts they had. The lemon and bananas foster definitely hit the sweet tooth craving. read more

I brought my family here for a special dessert to celebrate and the entire restaurant was full of single college students taking up entire tables with laptops. Nobody had drinks or snacks, just laptops. It was very disappointing after telling the kids they could get ice cream. We asked if someone could move together to make room for a family, they just ignored us. A booth with seating for 5 had one person. A couch with two chairs had one person. High top, one person. This is one of our favorite places to go for coffee and dessert, and I'd recommend anyone get their snacks to go, but this keeps happening. Unless they require customers to actually be paying customers to take up tables there's no point trying to eat there. read more

We chose a blended Belgian chocolate drink and a hot Mayan chocolate drink. The blended drink was rich and delicious. The hot drink was the perfect temperature, creamy and to die for. We loved looking at the variety of chocolates on display as well as the pastry case with a rainbow of macarons. They also have a large selection of prepackaged chocolate boxes and treats. They need to be more upfront with what is actually in their chocolates. Most of their chocolates contain FD&C artificial colors, which are absolutely devastating to one's health. This information is listed on their website, but this should be posted in their storefronts as well to ensure that consumers are informed about what they are putting into their bodies. I've been to the locations and asked employees what ingredients are in these chocolates and the responses have ranged from "I don't know" to "You can check out our website." - employees should also be more educated on what they're selling. What would be nice to see is a shift from unhealthy colorants and other additives to more health-conscious options, as well as better educating employees. read more

I've been here as many times as I can remember in the past few months and it's always been a pleasant experience. The only issue was that I was charged for something cheaper than what I was supposed to get, but it was resolved in a friendly manner and I appreciated it. We all make tiny mistakes. After all, we're human! Although sometimes it does get busy and crowded, their menu makes up for it. I haven't tried their chocolates but I have tried their Java shakes and they are delish!! Personally I love their smoothies and I always order them no matter which location. The lounge at the Bradley Fair location is small and has enough outlets for those wanting to do homework or business work. No worries! There's another location near Old Town and one near Maize and their lounges are spacious! Definitely an awesome place to do homework in. read more

This place is so chic. I was in Paris a couple years ago, and they have absolutely captured the same atmosphere as the fine chocolate and madeline shops/cafes. Even better, their delicate truffles are just as good as those wonderful little cafes in France. I tried a variety of truffles, and I also tried the espresso poured over caramel gelato. Divine! There are lots of fun Flavors to choose from, so try something you know you'll like and try something wacky. Today we got a variety including cinnamon, pear moscato, honey, burnt caramel, sour cherry pie, creme brûlée,blueberry pie, bacon, maple, and champagne. They were all delicious. My favorite of the day would have to be blueberry. I did a taste tester of their gelato with Turkish coffee grinds. It packed a pinch. Definitely recommend. I picked up a couple of boxes of English toffee yesterday, with one as a gift. The other was a treat for us. Even though I have loved almost everything Cocoa Dolce makes, the English Toffee brittle is a big disappointment. It has no almonds at all, and no great browned butter taste in the toffee. See's Candies still makes some of the best toffee around. You should check them out for what an outstanding toffee tastes like! It is chock full of almonds amidst the buttery brittle covered with great chocolate. read more

Absolutely spectacular! I tried to keep a list of all the truffles we that we tried: the raspberry puree with Chambord liquore and 54% bittersweet chocolate ganache, the coconut cream with toasted almonds was amazing, the crème brûlée was exactly as you think it would be dusted with raw sugar, my favorite was the champagne truffle w crystallized sugar, and the salted caramel ganache was outstanding! The pumpkin spice truffle was better than expected as was the chai tea, and the Malbac with a splash of malbac and black Sambuca with 54% bitter sweet ganache was surprising! Handcrafted, little pieces of chocolate art that are both beautiful to look at and delicious to savour. Service is excellent, knowledgeable staff, and the beautiful packaging is its own little treat in itself! Perfect for gift giving or a splurge for one's self Highly recommended! read more

Regardless of how good the products are they are VERY expensive! Over $5.00 for a single piece of chocolate is extreme in anyone's book. I shudder to think what a BOX of chocolates would cost. We went there with a $5.00 gift ceritificate and had to pay the sales tax in order to get the candy and the face value of the certificate. read more

Being from California I was not sure what to expect in terms of the chocolates offered here. We have a chain called See's Candy that I am a lifetime fan of, this was not nearly as good. While the chocolate was good, the size, filling, and flavors were not that exciting. The chocolate was too sweet, the cacao percentage too low to really get to indulge in the dark chocolate notes I prefer. The chocolate looks nice, but of the half dozen we bought, I don't think I finished more than one. One thing I will say though is that the coffee is great. We bought a bag of the hazelnut and I think it's one of my favorites. We grind and brew at home and I can't wait to get another bag. Skip the chocolate, go for the coffee. read more

I've always enjoyed my guilty pleasures here, though mine tend to run towards the gelato and the chocolates (as long as there are some nuts with it, it's likely pretty good.). I've even been blessed with the occasional gift of "life is like a BOX of Cocoa Dolce chocolates!" (sorry, Forrest Gump, but your mama never had anything quite like Cocoa Dolce box of chocolate!). As it turned out, we were celebrating the 24th anniversary of our engagement this past weekend, but we had other events earlier in the day. We finally had some quiet time for ourselves. I wasn't hungry after our lovely dinner at @TuptonThai (yea, I need to write more reviews!). I suddenly remembered that Cocoa Dolce was just across the street and would have the perfect small bites of sweetness! Was pleased that it's much the same as it was in previous years, in spite of ownership changes. One think I have learned is that there is not a "terrible" gelato flavor... so please don't hold up the line and sample every.single.flavor and laboriously select only one flavor for that tiny serving bowl. It really is possible to put two or three flavors inside those little bowls, and it's a fun way to sample those flavors all at once. This particular time, I chose the creme de menthe, the vegan coconut, and the raspberry. It wasn't an authentic "Spumoni", but did have some of the same visual effect. Never mind that I had just enjoyed a medium hot Thai dish, and wasn't particularly wanting Italian, but the gelato combination was a nice complement to dinner, and the perfect cooling relief to the heat I had just had. (I know the Thai place has delicious desserts, and I have had them at previous visits, but do you really want a new chapter about all of that and why we ended up here at Cocoa Dolce? Sometimes life just happens in spite of one's attempts to micromanage it...). So anyway, if you don't want to eat in the store, there are plenty of pre-packaged chocolates, coffees, and gift certificates for all sorts of birthdays, anniversaries, get out of the doghouse, or other gifting needs. There are customizable gift packages. You can even buy it for yourself and then snarf it down at home or elsewhere. Same for the gelato - pack a pint to go. Bring a cooler or plan to drive quickly as the legal speed limit allows (especially in the summer!). Oh, so in case you are wondering, do I recommend Cocoa Dolce? Yes. Yes indeed. Came here for the first time ever! This is a very cozy looking sweet shop that offers everything from coffee to gelato to macarons but they specialize in handcrafted chocolates. The employees here are the true stars! Very knowledgeable about the wide selection of menu items and make great recommendations. After talking to the employee, I decided on a few macarons and an almond joy coffee drink, both were delicious! Expensive albeit. Overall, this place is quite a treat. and definitely something I can only treat myself to once in a blue moon, as it will literally break the bank! And the usual vibe that I get from this place just was not there. From the moment we walked in it was wonderful. First you walk through a "retail" section with grab and go items such as prepackaged chocolates. Then you see the chocolate display case which is filled with works of chocolate art that taste as good as they look. They also have drinks, bakery items and a good assortment of gelato flavors. The milk chocolate gelato was delicious. Both associates that helped us (before I knew what I was gonna get and after) were extremely helpful and friendly. They both seemed to have extensive knowledge of all their products which speaks to being well trained. I also thought the pricing was very fair for such a quality product. I will definitely be back! Loved this chocolate/coffee shop! I came in on a Sunday around 130, at the time there were only 2 other customers in the shop. It was quiet and chill. However, it soon became very busy filling the entire shop, which is pretty spacious. I could see why they're so busy!! The service is excellent- the ladies behind the counter are so friendly and patient with each and every customer. They are very helpful in helping customers order. I ordered an almond milk sugar free caramel latte- and it was soooo delicious!!! I stayed to do some work. It's a great environment to work in - if you don't mind the noise- which I can block out easily. It's also a great environment to meet up with friends or hangout with family. They have something for customers of all ages! They have a great display of chocolates, baked goods, and gelato! I'll have to come back and try their sweet items soon! read more

I keep returning to Cocoa Dolce because the entire experience keeps improving. Yesterday I was showing a friend around town and thought she'd like to experience some local flavor rather than hitting up Starbucks. We stopped in and each got the "Drink and Two Chocolates" special for just $6.00 each. We both ordered a specialty latte (mine was passionfruit; she got Turtle) and selected two chocolates each. For that price at Starbucks, you could barely get the drink, let alone a treat. In the past, I was disappointed with a measly selection, but the last few times I've stopped in, the chocolate selection is overwhelming--in the bliss-inducing way you would expect a counter full of chocolate to be. The waitress mentioned that production has grown so astoundingly, they have to produce the chocolates at another location, but still package and prepare in the shop. I'll have trouble going out for dinner now WITHOUT stopping in to Cocoa Dolce afterward for a little dessert. CD is getting my first five-star rating. Will be back! read more

Amazing, this place was very nice. You have to try the crown truffle and the Jamison truffle. I felt like the Jamison truffle needed a touch out sea salt to bring it over the top. The gelato here was amazing. I would recommend the mango. It is like a kick in the mouth with mango. My son had the strawberry and my wife the Carmel and both were very happy with their choices.
