They have a lovely south-facing window and a deck with bistro tables and umbrellas. We got a cappuccino and a tea, and decided the interior would be better than the windy outside. It was a minor ing Wednesday, so service was immediate and friendly. The cappuccino was perfectly made - just frothy enough! (I could tell when she handed me the cup. It was lighter than it would have been full of milk. Thanks!!) There are mostly two- or three-tops scattered around the scant seating area, with a few comfy chairs around. There is a nice but small collection of snacks in the cabinet, but neither of us felt the need for food. The music was generic enough to not distract or call attention to itself. There is one very large, non-gendered restroom, well stocked and very accessible for those using assistive devices. It's a bold move to open a coffee shop a stone's throw from Cocoa Cinnamon, but I must say that Nectar has nailed the basics well, and may cater to a little different niche. Either is a good option for you, with decent WiFi, great drinks, and smiling patrons & servers! Welcome to the neighborhood, Nectar!

Step inside, though, and the place opens up into a colorful mix of local and ethnic art, walls covered in posters championing every political stance imaginable, a kind of visual chaos that somehow feels intentional. It's the sort of environment where you could spend ten minutes just looking around and deciding if the decor is charming or overwhelming, but I found it surprisingly easy to tune all of that out once my coffee order was called out. My cortado was excellent. Rich, balanced, and exactly the kind of drink that reminds me why I stopped in to begin with. It anchored my experience with something simple and satisfying, despite the noise of everything happening on the walls. [Review 1157 of 2026 - 4806 in North Carolina - 26336 overall]

I started off by ordering a latte and one of the pastries (brie with hot honey and carrots). I was a little frustrated with how long it took to get my order - I'm pretty sure it was at least 10 minutes. The pastry sounded good in theory but it actually didn't taste super great, unfortunately. Later, I ordered an iced matcha tea latte and it was pretty darn good. Everything was a little expensive but I kind of expected that :) There are some outlets along one of the walls so you can plug in your laptop, which is nice. Overall, I'd consider coming back here to grab a coffee and do some work, but I'd recommend people be patient since the orders may take a while to come out.
