We rented 11260 6th Avenue Golf from Coco Plum for two weeks for $9,000.00. We reported the following issues to Coco Plum shortly after arrival. We were told that both managers are on vacation and they don't know when they will return. Really!!!??? * Hole in garage ceiling under bedroom and bathroom. My daughter was sleeping in the room over the hole and was bit on her face. * Pool is filthy on the outside and inside has chipped paint. * Floor so dirty when my infant daughter crawled for five minutes her skin was black. * Outside Grill is unusable and filthy. * Exterior of building has a sheet of drywall that is sitting in front of the closet doors. Drywall is completely bowed and been here for months. * Plumbing issues. (FIXED BY CO * There is plywood on ceiling in enclosed porch. Black mold is growing out of the hole. Handyman mentioned he put plywood there as temporary fix 8 months ago. * Walls, woodwork and closets filthy. * Couch is ripped and broken the middle is gone and you sit at a 45° angle. * Close to half of the houses lightbulbs are burt out. * Exterior has trash, building debris, pool toys and chairs literally tossed everywhere. Coco Plum should have visited this unit prior to having guests stay here and there be ashamed to rent this property. Coco Plum did resolve our plumbing issue and attempted another cleaning. This home is disgustingly dirty and in drastic need to be gutted and updated complete with all new furnishings. That won't help the smell of the seagrass. Not much you can do about that however I was aware of the possible smell. This has been an incredibly disappointing vacation experience. read more

I was unable to go on my vacation due to hurricane Ian. I understand that I did not have the travel insurance for the cost of the rental, however they even refuse to credit back the pet fees and cleaning of 1158.75 for a unit no one even stayed in. Terrible customer service please don't book through them. read more

Awful place to deal with. My client sadly passed away unexpectedly and we provided notice to cancel the unit 30 days in advance of the reservation. The deposit was significant and this agency refused to return all, or even a portion, of the deposit. This was high-season for rentals and I fully believe that they could have re-let the unit. An honorable place would have at least responded and advised if the unit had been rented and then made a fair refund. The client died for pete's sake, this wasn't some whimsical cancellation. Unsympathetic and unmoved by this sad event. Money before all else, in my opinion. read more

We recently returned from a vacation in Marathon Florida. We rented what was described as a lovely home with a great outdoor area which appealed to us during the Covid pandemic - we didn't plan to venture out much. The house was lovely. Well designed, beautifully decorated with very good quality furniture and appliance.s The kitchen was so poorly stocked that we ended up dining out way more than we wanted. All of the pots/pans were cheap and/or damaged. The kitchen looked like a college apartment. Not a decent knife in the drawer -- in fact, I just saw them on sale at Macy's, Cuisinart set of 10 Ceramic painted knives for $14.99. There we no pot holders or dish towels in the house. Coco Plum did bring some new ones over on day 3. The house boasted that it accommodates 10 people, however there were drinking glasses for 6. The outdoor TV was broken when we arrived and notified them immediately. We later determined that they were already aware that it didn't work but didn't bother to let us know. The house was not cleaned very well when we checked in either and during these times that was disconcerting. Our frustration was that Coco Plum didn't seem concerned with our frustrations, they were aware that things in the house were broken or didn't work properly but made no suggestions or concessions to ensure we had a pleasant stay as advertised. Just now, reading the reviews of the house, it is obvious they only post the 5 stars reviews. I submitted a review to them and they "thanked me for my feedback" but didn't really care that we had a crappy stay. There are many vacation rental properties in Marathon that actually offer great service so I would look around before going with Coco Plum. No one reached out to me in person to discuss our stay which is why I felt compelled to write a review so that you can ask the questions we didn't. read more

Rented what I thought would be a lovely condo at Indigo Reef through Coco Plum Realtors. Unfortunately, that is not what my family got. When we arrived, none of the televisions in the unit had working cable. We immediately called Brad to rectify the situation (as outlined in the contract) and got no response. My mother had to call and leave a nasty message in order to get a response. Even then, no one came out to look at the problem. Instead, the realtor's tech guy told us Comcast would speak with us directly. When we tried that, Comcast was unable to help us (we didn't have an account number, and NOWHERE in the unit is the telephone number for the unit listed, not even on the phone itself). Cut to tomorrow morning, we are still waiting. And this isn't the only issue. We've stayed in other units in Indigo Reef and they've all been perfectly lovely and very well maintained, but this one (unit 61) is not: -There are marks on the walls throughout the unit -The downstairs curtain rod is missing one of its ends -There were no light bulbs in the lamps in the living room -The linens seem old and threadbare and are not nearly as nice as the other units (they all have white down comforters, white towels, etc., but this place has thin towels and no comforters, just thin blankets) -The decks and railings are in need of painting (they aren't awful but they are not as pristine as the other units) -The headboard in the master bedroom looks as though someone broke the slats and tried to glue it back together but smeared yellow glue across the slats in the process -There are no ceiling fans in any of the rooms (something the other units have) -The only light in one of the guest bedrooms is a small table lamp (there are wall switches but they do NOTHING) - In nicer hotels and condos, you expect the little extras like nice soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and dishwasher soap/laundry detergent (something you will find in the other units at Indigo Reef...). You won't get that in unit 61. We found a bar of soap in both full bathrooms (none in the half bath) and a tiny off-brand shampoo/conditioner bottle. Instead of the small packages of tide and dishwasher detergent we usually find, there was 1 of those little gel packets of dishwasher stuff and a tupperware thing of unidentifiable laundry detergent -Found LOTS of hair and a pair of socks under my bed To be fair, the Coco Plum sent someone over to bring us more towels, blankets and tissues, but the experience was just disappointing. They admitted the state of the condo should have been more fully described to use prior to rental. Look, none of these things, individually, would be that bothersome. However, considering how much this place costs, these issues are just unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and rent at Indigo Reef, just not this unit and not through this broker. read more

Rented a home from them on Marathon Key. The website info represented the home to be very nice. It was not, there were dozens of issues including A/C not cool, plumbing clogged, electrical shock hazards, etc. Multiple emails and calls/messages have been left over the past 5 days and they have not responded at all. My family traveled to the Florida Keys on 2/17/15 to celebrate my parents 65th Wedding Anniversary. Unfortunately on arrival late in the day, we entered a house (Tiki Time 16 Ave F, Marathon, Fl) that hadn't been cleaned or appeared had not been occupied in some time. In addition, it was apparent there hadn't been any significant upkeep of this house for quite some time with the exception of the pool and kitchen area. After night of some family sleeping on beach towels, I reached out to Coco Plum Vacation Rental by visiting their office. Later on the 2nd day they addressed towels, linen and some minor cleaning. I would not recommend this house unless I was coming to visit with a group of guys for a fishing weekend. Here is an example of issues encountered when renting Tiki Time... General Cleaning Throughout specifically... Lights and vents need thorough dusting includes cleaning bugs inside of all lights. Corners of floors have dirt and crud. The towels in the entire house appear as if they have been used for cleaning, some have holes. Linen musty and some sheets have holes. Many lights do not have lightbulbs. Kitchen lightbulb needs replacing. Rugs in some bedroom very dirty. There are 2 apparent areas of the house that have water damage in ceiling probably the cause of musty/mold smell. Most windows are broken and don't open. Closet door is off. Furnace/AC room door in hallway needs extensive cleaning. Our family did ask for a partial refund for issues we encountered and had to deal with during our stay but rental agency stated they don't give refunds. I have stayed in many houses rented via VRBO. I would not stay in this house again. I would not recommend this house or stay at any property rented by Coco Plum Vacation Rentals in the future. read more

We paid the highest price we have ever paid for "cleaning fees" at $168. Then at the end of our weeks stay we got a call from management asking us to wash and dry our towels then wash all bed sheets! Said they were short on help but did not offer to refund a portion of our cleaning fees! In 20 years the highest cleaning fee we have ever paid was $90 and we never had to do anything but walk out when we were done. We were afraid they would hit our credit card with "extra cleaning fees" if we didn't do what they said, so we did it. Bad business practice there, but we won't rent from them again read more

I used Coco Plum Real Estate to book a townhouse for our family of 8 back in April 2014 in Indigo Reef Resort in Marathon FL for the week of August 9-16, 2014 . All our correspondence was via email and was pretty straight forward. I paid the deposit and the balance as instructed. On our drive down to Marathon on the first day of our vacation, I received a call from "Jim" informing me that the townhouse we rented (infamous #61) had the compressor on the air conditioner break the night prior and the AC company would not be able to get the part and have it fixed for nearly a week. Jim was very apologetic and said he was working hard to secure us another townhouse. Unfortunately Coco Plum did not have any units available so he was checking with other property management companies to see what they might have. Thankfully he was able to secure another unit (#22). He said the price was more but that Coco Plum Real Estate was going to make up the difference and check in time was now 2pm instead of 4pm. A big plus! I wish that was our happily every after. Unfortunately, it was not. On the 3rd day of our vacation, we arrived back to unit #22 after a day on the water at about 4pm to find no AC. I tried to call Jim but got his voicemail so I tried the management company for this unit #22. "Sam" came right away. He narrowed down the problem and had an AC company there within the hour. Unbelievably the compressor on this AC unit also went out! I was not happy at all with this. Thankfully Sam was able to find us another unit just a couple of doors down (#24). We had to wait until a cleaning crew came in to clean and then move all of our stuff into our new "home." It totally disrupted our plans for the evening but we had AC. Jim did call back and left me a voicemail that he had spoken to Sam and knew that we were being taken care of. I did not hear from Jim again. Other than the AC drama, Indigo Reef is a great place to stay. The younger family members made friends quickly with the other kids staying there. The dockage space was perfect. The accommodations very comfortable. They have a big beautiful pool. The resort is conveniently located. I would likely stay there again and I would recommend it to friends and family. read more
